Somehow, my brain keeps registering this anime as Yogi Bear Storm.
I'm weird like that.
Yogi? Seems about right.◊

Looks like every girl with "yuri" in her name is a bear. And they all want Kureha. Predatory bear lesbians.

Are they ALL bears other than Kureha? I bet Sumika comes back as a bear at this point. And I was surprised that they actually ate her.
Second episode! Ow ow!
- FRICK SHE REALLY IS DEAD
- Goddam lesbearians.
- Yep lesbians everywhere.
- I guess invisible storm happens when your yuri is not approved, or something.
- Face licking is normal human social interaction. Yes.
- ANOTHER BEAR??? WHAAAAAAT????
- I thought lily bulbs were something you put in the ground to get lilies you crazy Japanese.
- Punch every bear!
- You know what, I bet Kureha was the only bear all along, you can stop watching now.
- Frick, they're all bears.
What even is this how does this show even exist?
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Everything is yuri. Everyone is bear. That's all I got out of this. That, and they're not afraid to kill people, but I sort of figured that out last episode.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. That's all I got as well
The invisible storm is pretty clearly the opinion of those around you
I think bears might just be sexually aggressive people? Not sure what that means for the wall
Still have no idea what the court is about
The whole "yuri" focus doesn't seem to have much point
Mitsuko being a bear was quite the KUMA SHOCK!
With that revelation, I'm just gonna assume that anyone with "yuri" in their surname is a bear.
Face it, Beauty Cool. You ain't gonna win at all. ...Also, it sounds like Life Sexy's calling Kureha from beyond the wall. What's his game?

The thing that makes the court weirder is that it's almost exactly the same in both episodes. Yeah, Ikuhara really likes using stock footage, but it kind of fit in the previous episode, but here it was just sort of out of place. I hope it gets changed in later episodes.
<_< >_> Sha-ba-doo.

Not Three Laws compliant. What the hell are the Judgemens supposed to be anyway? They feel like unnecessary crazy on top of the all the other crazy.
The speculation is that they're representing male dominance or something. They're the only men in the show (even the cops are yuri) and they decide what is sexy, and whether to approve yuri.
Of course, we are only two episodes in and this is an Ikuhara show, so who knows.

Also, their judgements are nonsensical, ritualised bullshit that the girls are required to sit there and passively accept.
I imagine the stock-footage-athon whenever they show up is likely to get some hefty twists fairly soon.
What's precedent ever done for us?The choice the judge offers the bears is to either 'become invisible, or eat humans'. The speech at the end of episode 2 says that Kureha isn't invisible because she won't give up her love.
So, surely, the choice is between invisible Yuri and visible Yuri.
… And that's all I got. There's definitely more there, but I'm still a little unclear how to parse the 'openly Yuri = eating people' thing that that implies. I could just about figure it out if it wasn't for the fact that the bears actually killed Sumika, but that, combined with Kureha's hatred of the bears and acceptance of her sexuality shoots every approach I can see in the foot.

"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."Same here. I thought I had a handle on the symbolism, but that got shot down by episode 2. (which is good, bc it had a bunch of Unfortunate Implications).
I wonder if the "court" is actually some sort of internal monologue of the bears.

Is there a place I can legally watch this? I found the show on crunchy roll, but it appears to be restricted in the US.
It's also worth taking into account that there's no way the message is going to end up being anti-Yuri. The mind behind Utena is simply not going to made a show about how lesbians should be feared and hated.
It's also on Funimation's site, which is at the very least available in Canada.

"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."If you are in australia you can use animelab.
...I am so glad Australia finally has more options other than a filleted crunchyroll and Perfectly Legal Means.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobRe: lesbians, specifically Japanese ones, there's a decent essay on that. Basically the whole "predatory lesbian" stereotype is a much bigger thing over there, and as anyone who's visited the "Romantic" Two-Girl Friendship page knows, "schoolgirls in a relationship until they grow up and find a man" is also a thing in the public consciousness.

This is my first Ikuhara series...so I guess "What the fuck" is standard reaction.
My silly guess is that everyone except Kureha is a bear. And even Sumika was a bear. All the bears have just been committing cannibalism.
Oh and with students killing each other we really do need a Dangan Ronpa crossover.
The fuck is this.
Also this makes the third anime in a row I've watched where they kill off a Lesbian in the first three episodes...
Bleye knows Sabers.I didn't realize it was that common. I'm kinda got my quota filled there so what other animes should I avoid this season?
Actually, this needs a Sabagebu! crossover. That would be hilarious.

Well, Cross Ange is still going and I advise you avoid it like the plague. How the HELL you screw up "Hot girls in giant robots fight dragons from another dimension" is a question I don't want answered, but that show is the result.
I think I'll stick with this for awhile though... Just to see if it getsmore understandable.
Bleye knows Sabers.
Hopefully it won't be to the level of the Utena movie. It's very pretty, but stuffed so full of random crap that it gets really hard to follow after a while.
