Black Sheep Hit is listed as a Music Trope and is written as a Music Trope, but I don't see why it would need to be limited to music (and, indeed, there are non-music examples), or even primarily centered around musical examples. It seems like any example of a work that doesn't fit in with the rest of its creator's CV, but is disproportionately popular, would be an example of this trope.

Additionally, at the end of the descripiton, it states that "Creator Backlash is the equivalent for entire works (in any media) rather than single songs." That doesn't seem logical to me.

Creator Backlash doesn't necessarily mean the work is significantly different from the rest of the creator's works, and a Black Sheep Hit doesn't necessarily mean the work is disliked by its creator. I can see how they can correlate frequently (and thus should be mentioned on each other's articles), but I don't see how they're directly related, much less "equivalent".

Because of this last issue, I've seen a handful of misused examples that are really Old Shame and/or Creator Backlash, not Black Sheep Hit (just examples of a creator not liking a work, or not liking how popular it is compared to the rest of their material). Clarifying this might help.

I think it could work expanded to cover all media rather than just music. As you said, the definition boils down to "Massively popular work at odds with the creators usual style". I don't see how that conflicts with it being non music-only...

That last sentence doesn't make any sense to me; besides the fact that a song is still a work, "Can result in Creator Backlash" is much more appropriate. Also don't see any reason to keep it confined to music. An author who mostly writes gritty urban fantasy hitting it big with a sappy romance novel would definitely fit.
