I think that they twist they are hiding is that everything is way darker than it seems.
Not sure about that, but I kinda hope your right. I admit, I've never seen an anime where offering wishes to little girls ends well.
I get a really Kyubey vibe from Noel. Her always happy demeanor is a bit uncanny, to say the least. Coupled with the obvious fact she's a spirit or alien of some sort...

I dunno guys, the screenwriter on duty wrote KANON. There wasn't a lot of darkness there, but there was a heaping of angst for all the girls involved in the story, one of whom had her mom got hit by a speeding SUV (in the Kyoani anime).
What I'm expecting here instead is that Noel really means what she says: she'll be able to grant Nonoka's wish. However it'll likely be a cost to herself, especially when you remember that she herself points that the UFO might not be staying much longer above the town.
I'm not expecting darkness per se, but I'm almost positive there's going to be some level of tragedy
Wait, I agree with Hylarn about which characters are interesting?
Check out my fanfiction!Well, there is the obvious conflict of granting Yuzuki's wish means Noel leaves. Which is kinda annoying since her dislike of the saucer is kinda irrational in the first place.

Oh, so someone is weirded out by the saucer hanging around. And she still is after all that time. But...she hates the saucer just because fireworks are prohibited from being used there? Well, the view was pretty nice...
Well, Nonoka didn't turn her back on her, and that's all that matters...
Ms. Headphone's still charming(abrasive, I mean). And she got the protag seat.
I get the feeling that when Nonoka's wish comes true, Noel's gonna leave. On that saucer. Okay, she's an angelic alien, then.
This so much. At one point I actually hoped the saucer would rain laser death on the town just so she'd have a reasonable position.
Episode 3. In which they orient themselves.
That looks roughly like my appartment. Well, in style, at least.
Orienteering is a sport. Although I'm not quite so sure that applies to what they're doing, since they're wearing regular school uniforms. And it's generally a bad idea to tell someone to hurry up when they're skipping on stones.
But if she's taking in the sights, I think she's a winner already. Unless she's just doing that to be stupid.
Mandatory pose for drinking.
Koharu is the good friend. Shione is the bad friend.
I think she's doing it wrong. But good thing she got her face out of there. Would really have hurt otherwise.
That's what she thinks? I'm not sure who's the stupid one there. Despite certain antics of less adroit girls.
"Aren't you tired?" she asks the girl happily spinning in circles.
It should be hard to get lost there, what with that huge saucer in the sky.
And then Noel was a saucer.
Gonna say, maturity isn't high on the list of common traits in this series.
By the way, the saucer looks very mich like a candy bowl I've got.

Check out my fanfiction!Episode 3:
- Yuzuki blames everything that goes wrong on the saucer as a coping mechanism. It all makes sense now. But whom will you blame when the saucer is gone, Yuzuki?
- Fuck Shione.
- So Shione hates the saucer too? That much huh? What is wrong with that saucer?
- If " I'm the saucer" was supposed to be a Wham Line , it failed.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Shione is kind of asshole. Which actually makes her my favourite character
Big reveal isn't much of a surprise, but should be interesting to see how the characters handle it
Guys it's extracurricular activity. If you don't care enough to do it seriously why even sing up?
Yuzuki is my favorite character. I like how she puts 100% into everything she does. Even if it doesn't make sense.
Wow, Shione a bitch. Nonoka puts too much effort for someone like that.
Instructions unclear, Noel stuck in a cardboard monster.
Noel is pretty moe, Yuzuki had no chance.
Okay, what's the deal with the saucer? It was fine when it was one girl irrational crusade against it, but for them to hold a grudge like that, there better be a good reason.
"The ending was a real surprise!" - No one.
I don't think Shione is angry so much about the saucer as that Nonoka caused a massive event and then skipped town immediately after (and I get the impression she left without saying anything?)
I would agree in Yuzuki. Someone needs to drive the plot and she's amusing.
I think the saucer line was a Captain Obvious Reveal.
I'm guessing Shione is displacing her anger at Nonoka leaving onto the saucer. Why does it have a celtic knot on it anyway?

Shione reminds me of Gerome; so abrasive, but like Gerome, I think she'll soften up later.
The mystery of the saucer deepens. Just what about it ticks Yuzuki and Shione off?
...In other words, what did Noel ever do to you guys, huh? At least she didn't wipe out the town on arrival, right?
Some people just hate all changes, but Yuzuki doesn't really seem like the type for that. Shione seems to blame it for Nonoka leaving. It...does feel a bit forced for the sake of drama. I mean, it hasn't done anything for 7 years. It's either not going to or you have no way of knowing when it is, or the ability to do anything about it, so there is no reason to worry about it.
I'm beginning to get the impression that the creation/summoning of the saucer may have been less pleasant than we've been led to believe

I have the impression that the effects of the saucer are not as pleasant as we are led to believe.
Also, we need more of Nonoka's dad.
I'm beginning to get the impression that people want this to be darker than it has been so far.
I'm expecting that when we finally find why is everyone so pissed we'll smack our faces because it'll be something trivial and stupid.
So who do you think will die first?
Check out my fanfiction!Hopefully Nonoka's hairstyle. I always hated that Fashionable Asymmetry thing for hair.
Oh, I admit it's a YMMV thing. I mostly just dislike the tail versions. Peek A Bangs don't usually bother me.

I don't mind it. And for some people (like Lightning and Eiki) it works well. Pure symmetry gets boring after a while, especially if everyone has it.
Check out my fanfiction!
I hope they are hiding another twist other than the obvious one. Noel being an alien
