The final volume has arrived on shelves, and we're getting the last batch of goodies from this series.
Character Profile:
Kaneki Ichika
- Will be soon 6 years old
- Blood type: B
- Size: 112cm/18kg
- Favorite foods: Apples, Yoriko’s bread.
Kaneki and Touka’s daughter. She is friendly, and has a lively personality.
As a natural half-ghoul, she can eat human’s food.
So their little girl is a natural one-eye, just like Eto. Seems she hit the jackpot in terms of her genetics.
Ishida also included a lengthy Afterward, in which he reflects on the series and his life. It's in the process of being translated.

Beautiful Ishida, beautiful. I'll take his final message to heart.
anything on Kuzen/Eto?
Hopefully dead and forgotten.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Reading the full thing it does sound like he was burnt out even when he got the spark to do it again over the last year. So I'll say again I'm happy he ended things when he did.
Furuta and his devouring of the plot was clearly the product of his boredom and it shows, but the story does end at a point where it doesn't become an irredemable aweful train wreck. Still think the last chapter itself is Okay at best

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. This just in, Yamori is totally ripping off Jason from Friday the 13th...
I think this joke is supposed to make fun of surface similarities people connect to other series but it kinda doesn't work when the character is no joke ripping something off. Ishida does take outside influence just not with the characters people want to think.
Edit: So what I meant with this post was a joke about how some people I saw were going "Ichika is a rip off of Bleach Ishida what a hack lol," and just finding it humorous that people would focus such a surface similarity, contrasted with another character who you could actually make a case for such a thing. Though even though I called Yamori a "rip-off" I don't mean to say Ishida is a hack or anything. Everything is ultimately inspired by something and I actually appreciate his art more when I figure out his influences. I've argued in the past that Arima was influenced by the Boss from MGS 3 and if anything that just makes me love Arima more. Though the Ichika thing is utter nonsense.
Just as a clarification.

do people forget babies ever after is a pretty common ending
off the shitsThere's baby ever after and then there's the pregnant woman fighting in numerous battles including one where the Kagune monster punched her in the gut.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.I guess One Eyed Ghoul embryos are pretty tough.

Disgusted, but not surprisedKirishima Plot Armor actually. Distorts all logic and reason so they come out fine. Yomo, Touka, Ayato, a fetus, etc.?

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Sad Arata couldn’t get some of that Plot Armor.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Mmmm, I don't mind an Happy Ending but I do agree the series took an serious hit up before the ending.
It's pretty obvious by the author too that his heart wasn't really all in it. It became less of an passion project for him and more of an soul draining job. I imagine thats what got the quality of his writing to start tanking.
So I am glad he ended it before it got any worse.

He was too busy being used to give everyone else some armour.

I need a new sig.I need help for Fandom-Specific Plot. Here's what I added so far.
- Identity Reveal fics where Yoriko finds out Touka is a Ghoul either by the latter confessing it or the former accidentally finding it out. Either way, it would almost always leading to a Relationship Upgrade.
- Yoriko being turned into a half-Ghoul is also being done.
For the first example, this or this.
For the second example, this or this.
Let me know if you have any Fandom-Specific Plot for Tokyo Ghoul.
Oh gosh this is funny to me. The last episode of Re has a flashback to Root A with Kaneki carrying Hide.
Overall I'd rate the anime of Re a better adaptation of the second half of Re, which should tell you how dissatisfied I was with Furuta driving the train into a wall with his involvement in the plot.
Plus dropping all the worst details and sideplots that didn't matter in any way.
Also not bringing Eto back just to laugh at V before dying again as her body collapses in the next chapter. They just left her dead.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Much like the first anime it was a frankensteining of plot and filler that creates a jumbled mess.
Mileena MadnessSo just like Re itself!
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Bang!
Mileena MadnessIronically this means Re and even Root A live up to the expectations Ishida intended for the series.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession....Why?
Mileena MadnessYe could just read the interview for the context but context is:
The final chapter went from a train wreck to a happy ending. Did you have a chance to change your mind?
Ishida: Probably…once I was aware that the ending was approaching, I lost all meaning of value behind a train wreck ending. At first I thought, “Let’s shock everyone and make myself disappear,” but then I realized that I was misconstruing that as cool.
Nonetheless…the endgame had some parts that were definitely messy, but I changed them to be positive. I’m fine with it not being good, as long as it’s got some definitive answers. That happy ending is also a train wreck in its own way (laughs). I thought that that kind of train wreck would be more interesting.
So basically originally he was he was considering ending it with "everyone dies" sort of deal
I'm kinda wondering what is original term in untranslated version since it seems they refer to "shocking ending" instead of "bad ending"

Oh God I want the original shocking ending in some form. I need it. OVA, Oneshot, alternate ending, etc.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. This Tear Jerker moment...
- Chapter 129-130:
- It gets revealed that Mutsuki follows up on his earlier bluff and has Yoriko detained. He sends a message to Kaneki revealing that unless he turns himself over, Yoriko is going to be tried and executed for her previous affiliation with Touka. Touka eventually learns the truth herself and the two end up wordlessly making the decision to leave Yoriko to her fate since they know that it's an obvious trap.
It's gonna bite them in the ass when it result for a vengeful, future version of Yoriko to come into existence. Think of Rex Dangervest, and you'll understand what I mean.

What does anyone think of this idea?
And I love it.
I'm even subscribing to a growing theory the entire last chapter is a dream of Kanekis because Ayato was already being poisoned by Dragon when he left him to fight. So him having the strength to rescue him seems farfetched and nobody he cares about in some form(Or love ones people he cares about care for) is alive or mentioned.
