And Cast Away worked with just Tom Hanks and a beach ball, so surely a movie with just beach balls could work, too!
So an update, they are looking to have a villain..played by Tom Hanks
New theme music also a boxWhat the flying fu— elephant, I mean.
I have a feeling this film being made at all will depend on the success of the other animated adaptions they are already doing
New theme music also a boxI'm dreading to find out who Will Smith was cast as
Oh that's easy
He'll be voice of Timothy, that's seems obvious to me for some reason

This just keeps on getting crazier,Danny De Vito as..The ringmaster?
New theme music also a boxWhen I heard Hanks was playing a villain, I figured he was the Ringmaster. That's interesting.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Maybe there's going to be two ring masters,a good one (Danny) and the bad one (Hanks)
New theme music also a boxAnd it'll be the third time De Vito, Burton and a circus are involved with each other.
The article says the villain will be the circus' owner, so I suppose that's who Tom Hanks is playing.
Which gets kinda funny when you remember Tom Hanks has played Walt Disney himself in the past. Now Disney is the villainous owner of a Disney show in a Disney approved and made film? Oh God, that's so rich.
And I wonder how Timothy fits in a human heavy adaptation with a human villain. Seeing a talking mouse stand up to Tom Hanks over the exploitation of a flying elephant is bizarre even for Tim Burton's standards.

Huh,so they are beginning filming this spring according to an article I just read, should be interesting to see how it turns out!
New theme music also a boxIs Burton still attached to direct?
My desire to see the film hinges on him being involved. I need Burton's version of "Pink Elephants on Parade" in 3D.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? He's still attached to the film as a directer yeah
New theme music also a boxI'm going to update this thread.
There is now a plot summary available on wikipedia
"Holt, a former circus star, finds his life turned upside down when he returns from the war. Circus owner Max Medici enlists him to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when Holt's children discover that Dumbo can fly, persuasive entrepreneur V. A. Vandemere and aerial artist Colette Marchant swoop in to make the peculiar pachyderm a star"
There's even images of maquette they're using for the 3D effects, here
Also Michael Keaton has joined the project

New theme music also a boxWow, Dumbo looks... really creepy. Like, I know it might be ironed out for the finished film, but the big doll eyes really don't look right for a photorealistic elephant.
Well, that's certainly... an entirely different movie.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. It's not really a remake then, they're still making a Dumbo film but it sounds like it won't be anything like the animated film,a smart move
New theme music also a boxI'd say it sounds like a reboot, but those only count if there's more than one movie. Which there wasn't, in this case.
It might be worth watching in theaters just to see how crazy it gets.
dumbo is too unnerving, but everything else looks okay-ish
Dumbo doesn't actually look too bad,I thought he would look really out of place but their CGI is looking really good
Also, there's at least a Pink elephant in the trailer,so maybe the weird trippy sequence is in,and there was also a girl with a feather
Also singing baby mine in the trailer, not so sure about it
New theme music also a boxMy Reaction to the trailer
"Oh there's a trailer for Live Action Dumbo"
From Tim Burton
"...Shit."
"Oh, the elephant looks terrifying."
"Oh sweet, Michael Keaton.... And Danny Devito playing his character from Big Fish is seems."
Trailer Ends
"Soo... wasn't there a mouse? who played a major role? Where's the mouse?"

I guess the mouse was turned into a human girl. Oh joy.
You may not be wrong in that opinion seeing how that movie only had like one major human character, while every actor in it are portraying cgi animals. So if a film about that succeeds, then one with no human character may succeed as well . . . that's their logic, not mines. I am still iffy on a live action Lion King working as a movie.
