I read that as "Skrulls" & I thought for a second, "Wait the Marvel Skrulls?"
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Now there's a crossover. (possible one too if the Predator rights are with Disney for good).
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Apparently, Trachtenberg wanted the movie to be a surprise. Basically, you go to watch Skulls, and then surprise Predator!
Predator vs. Red Skull!
I mean, he must be still in outer space now, right?

Hey I'd watch a movie about the Predator killing nazis.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."If we’re talking about rebranding due to rights issues, this is a grey case because the script the Thomas Brothers wrote was called Hunter and had a very different alien. But as everything including Predator is technically a derivative, Disney could get in trouble as a new film would still be a derivative of that idea. Plus the rights haven’t reverted yet and aren’t expected to until 2021 at the earliest, so it’s not clear whether Disney can claim to own it (Not that it would stop them from trying, as Disney is cheating Alan Dean Foster out of royalties for his Star Wars and Alien books.).
Power of Thor!Twitter was raising a ruckus about "#DisneyMustPay" not long ago, but let's see...
(*ADF has an advanced form of cancer*)
Yup. I am immediately on ADF's side on this. Cancer is a heartless mistress and there's no telling when it'll strike and cause the worst case scenario.
I want to think the losses in money due to the pandemic is causing Disney to be particularly stingy with its money this time or maybe there's some miscommunication going on within Disney, but if this is just plain and simple greed, then that's just sad.

Poor Mr. Foster was being gypped on his Star Wars work as early as its release.
My copy of his A New Hope novel has the galls to credit George Lucas as the writer.
They've always been greedy.

Now the copyright termination is heating up as Disney and the Thomas Brothers are both taking each other to court over the copyright termination going into effect this week. It looks like the Friday the 13th case all over again.
Power of Thor! How did it work out for Friday the 13th? Because the two lawyers in this Predator case, Toberoff and Petrocelli, fought each other to the brink over Superman and Petrocelli won the case for Warner Bros.
And why do people care whether or not Steamboat Willie and Mickey Mouse himself are in the public domain? Disney still made them at the end of the day, right?

The Friday the 13th case was ruled in favor of Victor Miller the writer, but the case is still ongoing because Sean Cunningham filed an appeal immediately after that is still being worked on and a separate suit against Paramount and Warner Bros. over Hollywood Accounting for the franchise. The appeal was supposed to reach a verdict last year, but COVID and the death of a judge involved have delayed things. That case is complicated because Jason Voorhees is part of what is being fought over in the appeal and Jason changed drastically over the course of the sequels, something similar which could happen with Predator as the Thomas Brothers’ script had a very different alien compared to what was in the final film. One of the side effects of the Friday case is that no new merch or films can be made until it is all cleared (Hence why the Game lost DLC support and NECA was forced to cancel an upcoming figure of Jason), which will no doubt happen to Predator given Marvel put its new Predator series on hold a couple weeks ago. And since Disney is well known for playing hardball with copyright (Being one of the companies that led to the creation of copyright termination like this due to lobbying for extensions to copyright is probably why Steamboat Willie is mentioned.) this is something that’s going to suck hard.

Power of Thor!
Huh, so apparently this was announced back in December as "Skulls". Same director and writer.
The original plot read:
Might be connected to @Commander Ace's post? Maybe it started as Predator, got changed into Skull in case the rights slimmed, but now is back as Predator.
