Whichever one artists like Vsnares and Aphex fall under.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."That's the latter.
IDM is a fairly diverse genre. The name is hideously pretentious, but there's a lot of really good music that falls under that label: Autechre, The Black Dog, μ-Ziq, Mira Calix, Matmos, any of Graham Lewis' collaborations with Andreas Karperyd, the list goes on.
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.Oh, if we're talking about Hardvapour, this dropped fairly recently.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."I think I bulk-purchased that net-label's discography a few months ago because they released a couple different things I found interesting and I felt like being generous.
This is neat thus far.
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.Oh hey, haven't heard anything from this label yet. This is pretty cool.
Would TRONICBOX count as vaporwave, or just that song?
I'd say it's just retro-styled pop music. The only thing it really has in common with vaporwave is sounding like the music a lot of vaporwave artists sample.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."That makes me feel generally unpleasant. I can't really describe it. It's not sadness or disappointment, just... a vague negative feeling.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Well, okay then. I dunno, I thought it was cool.
" I'm the princess! Everyone has to do what I say!"I'm just sick of people taking vaporwave for a joke. A passing hope, or a phase with a rope.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."But that's the thing with jokes like that. You need to laugh at yourself sometimes. Besides, there seems to be so much effort that they must have a genuine appreciation for Vaporwave culture.
" I'm the princess! Everyone has to do what I say!"I mean, it's one thing if you genuinely appreciate vaporwave/the culture, but a lot of times it's people who heard about it form someone who heard about it from someone who watched a video made by someone who read some terrible article about it that hit all the generic, tired talking points about it ("irony", "parody of capitalism", etc.). And after seeing the genre/movement/whatever you wish to call it being reduced to memes and "lol aesthetics" by people who know nothing about it beyond that, I'm just kinda burnt out at this point.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Well, whatever you say then.
" I'm the princess! Everyone has to do what I say!"Random idea. What if there was a Vaporwave track that used 90's samples instead of 80's samples. Just a random idea after thinking about a vaporwave version of the "Let's watch a Disney Channel movie!" bumper back in the 90's and early 2000's.
" I'm the princess! Everyone has to do what I say!"Plenty of vaporwave uses 90s samples. There's even a hefty amount that uses 2000s samples.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."I'm just more familiar with the 80's sampling ones.
" I'm the princess! Everyone has to do what I say!"...Is...Is that fucking "Hot in Herre" on the third one?
" I'm the princess! Everyone has to do what I say!"Yep. That album is actually by me. The idea was to sample things that I find nostalgic, rather than various 80s tunes I have no connection to.
For more projects that don't just samples 80s music, check out death's dynamic shroud.wmv and Laserdisc Visions if you haven't already.

To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Wow...not too bad actually.
Still kinda wanna know what a vaporwave version of the "Disney Channel Movie" bumper would be like. Maybe I'll experiment a bit.
" I'm the princess! Everyone has to do what I say!"Go for it.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."So, what exactly would you say are your favourite Vaporwave songs? I'm a big fan of Saint Pepsi's work. Person faves have to be Enjoy Yourself and Cherry Pepsi.
" I'm the princess! Everyone has to do what I say!"All my favorites are in a big ol' playlist.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."
The groovy, minimal, unclassifiable kind of IDM or the breakcore-without-the-breaks kind? Because they're two sides of the same coin but most people only think of the latter when it comes up. Going by the titular comp, I'm guessing you mean both, because this is basically lo-fi IDM with some weird gabber/hardcore/psycore elements.
It's pretty good, if perhaps unintentionally campy.
