Is that why it sounds like an anime opening

Retro vs Modern Splatfest? Looks more like Steampunk vs Cyberpunk
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!So... Who is on Team Retro and who is on Team Modern?
I decided to go with retro. I've got nothing against modern, but the without the old stuff we wouldn't have the new stuff. That and the old stuff we have around tends to be the stuff that managed to stand the test of time, whereas new stuff is more hit-or-miss. Also the modern stuff will eventually be retro.

Reaction Image Repository.. you know, that explains why i thought "this kind of sounds like vocaloid" aside from the whole sounds like an anime opening thing
off the shitsx4 She's one of these, they're (literally) metal as fuck.

Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.I will likely join team Retro, mostly due to Pearl vs Marina results when Europe is involved, plus I imagine fashion sense from the 20s to 40s may count for Retro, which certainly beats baggy pants and tank tops.
I'm gonna be retro, for lack of a better idea.
So far this 'Fest has been a right dumpster fire.
But at least Modern is having same team matches.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefI never knew how much I need Steampunk Pearl and Cyberpunk Marina in my life.
Fuck. In Ottawa the power grid has gone to shit thanks to the tornado. They say it may take days to restore it. Today, on Splatfest of all days! And here I was hoping for an easy win for Pearl.
I'm on Team Modern. So far I've only played two Normal mode matches, one mirror and one regular. I lost both. I only earned clout from the normal match, though.
Also, I have changed my in-game name to SpectreMcD. I'm going to try some Pro mode matches after I'm done eating lunch.
EDIT: After playing my first 7 Pro mode matches, my starting Modern Power is 1991.2 after 3 regular matches (where I went 2-1 in) and 4 mirror matches (where I'm 2-2).

The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever. All hail your modern royalty. On to the future. Down with nostalgia.
I, too, have reached Royalty rank. I've been doing okay in Pro mode. I've had a lot of mirror matches, though.
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.I haven't had any, so I guess retro won popularity then. Also I just hit royalty as well. Currently have around 24,000 clout in pro mode.
Reaction Image RepositoryI speak no hyperbole when I say that this is one of the single worst Shifty Stations in the history of the game. Putting the bounce pads over instant death pits was a horrendous decision. I've probably died more to misjudging the jump distance and falling into a hole than to any actual players on this map.
I agree and chuggaaconroy puts it into better words than I can.
It's not just the grates or bounce pads being forced every which way, but also just how predictable movement is on the tiny platforms. Another problem is how often people miss their jumps due to it being the one and only day to play this map, so many players aren't practiced.
This is certainly an event map worth using Training Mode to learn. Every game I've played on it was decided either by which side had longer range due to the obvious movement or which side missed more jumps at the start of the game and was unable to come back from it.
Every win or loss I've had felt unearned and like it came down solely to those two factors. I feel like it's a constant battle against the map more than it is against any opponent.
...I actually haven't died to the pits all that often. I mean, there are definitely a ton of issues with the map (movement between platforms is a pain, there are bottlenecks everywhere, there isn't much space to maneuver anywhere), but for the most part I think I died due to misjudging a jump like maybe twice.
Reaction Image RepositoryI saw in a stream someone on the opposing team used Splashdown right into the pit. What a maroon!
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefWell, this was a fun day of splatting. I spent the afternoon in Pro mode soloing, then the evening in Normal mode fighting on No Limit's stream. On the Pro side of things, here's my stats;
- Modern Power:
- Initial: 1991.2
- Peak: 2066.8
- Ending: 2006.4
- Win/Loss Record:
- Vs. Team Retro: 11/6
- Vs. Team Modern: 6/9
- Total: 17/15
As for Normal mode, before I joined No Limit's stream, I was 1/2 in regular matches and 1/1 in mirror matches. I lost track after joining.
Anyway, I earned 24,971 clout in Normal mode, and 38,800 clout in Pro mode.
And yes, there was much falling into the abyss at Shifty Station today.

The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever. So final stats. I must have played more than 50 matches since my Spaltnet App is full of Splatfest battles. My final stats are:
- Win loss - 38/12
- Modern Mirrors - 18
- Pro Level - 2232
- Normal Clout - 88146
- Pro Clout - 8180

We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff.
Band behind the V4 trailer song has been revealed. On an interesting note, it's implied that the vocals on their songs are actually sampled from ancient recordings of humans singing (hence the less modulated-sounding vocals).
