It makes me sad to know we're entering the final stages of Splatoon 2's update cycle. After July it's only going to be the most dedicated Splat fans who will keep playing.

pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSHow small is the team? Kinda weird that they would stop after two years, something like Splatoon 2 should be the centerpiece of the new online service and paying the cost.
I imagine the team is going to put Splatoon on hold while they shift their attention over to Animal Crossing for the Switch.

"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaThey want to start on Splatoon 3 I guess.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Hopefully Splatoon 3 will have actual servers.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.I don't want it to be over. We got a full year's more of support than we did with Splatoon 1, but even so. :(
pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSSplatoon 2 is over a year old, and they'll continue support into two. Honestly, that's enough. That's how much support Splatoon 1 had. And the team has to move on to do other stuff.
Splatoon 2 has done its job and became the highest selling Switch game. Unlike Overwatch or League, Splatoon has a short life-cycle but its most dedicated fans will still work to be the very best, like no one ever was.
Nintendo also puts out a ton of games, and they need to focus making new ones to maintain Switch sales. And their current focus is on Smash.
My Twitch.I guess as long as fans continue to support the game, it's not truly dead.
pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSI'm on the fence. On one hand, I realize that it's unrealistic for them to continue putting out (free) regular content updates for so long and we've definitely gotten more than most games would.
On the other hand, I imagine it couldn't be that hard for them to, like, create a buffer of Splatfests or something that would allow them to at least continue having them even after the other new content stops being released.
Also, when they say last stage, do they mean the last stage totally, or just the last new stage? Because I could've sworn that one of the datamines showed that Alfonsino was going to be brought back.
Reaction Image RepositoryI'm just wondering what happened to starfish mainstage.
did they bring that back yet, been a while since i played
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaThe next Splatfest is Retro vs. Modern.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefAMRS has stopped doing regular content updates within months but from time to time, they still do the party crashes. So maybe instead of a huge Splatfest, maybe they can just scale down.
Personally, I would like it if, once they are done with what they want to do with Animal Crossing, come back to Splatoon 2 with additional singleplayer content, more stages, weapons/kits, gear, and Splatfests, and then, when it gets close to the Switch successor, finally wrap up the second round of Splatoon 2 updates again, while beginning work on Splatoon 3.
But it's highly likely they will either work on something new, Splatoon 3, or content updates for Animal Crossing will keep them busy until the Switch successor.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."What I hope for Splatoon 3 is both dedicated Nintendo servers for Ladder-equiv (basically Ranked, Ladder Turf War, and Splatfest) and (free) P2P for local (ad-hoc) multiplayer, casual Turf War and private matches, then track the mileage/ink acreage scores for f2p and Ladder separately.
Not sure if Pearl's grandma is more speciesist than Craig Cuttlefish

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! This is another Splatfest where the choice was hard because I care so little about it. I don't have much interest in fashion. But I went with Team Modern for this one.
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.Version 4 sneaks in a new Squidd VS Salmonn soundtrack

Yeah, I'm probably not gonna last long.
Reaction Image RepositoryIt's not gonna be easy.
Apparently there is still a core playerbase in Splatoon 1. The old Booyah Base crew's still in business, but now they're all terrifyingly good.
Maybe they stayed there because they prefer the vintage Specials to these new weaksauce ones.

Where there's life, there's hope.
Why would they close access to the store? It's just online multiplayer gaming that will be closed off, I can't imagine anything else
