I didn't think the image was that bad. There was something a bit... uncomfortable about it, but I don't think it was nearly overt enough to be worth thumping.

It IS possible and not too challenging to escape from the Splashdown barrage by simply painting a trail and swimming away. I know I did in my successful run.
