Of course you already know all there is to know about being a ninja! What do you take yourself for?!
You sit down in a dusty room far from the robot hound and give it another read through anyway.
Each entry is very comprehensive, and even has examples to demonstrate the variability of use.
By the time you are through, you feel as if you could call upon any of the ninja clichés for your usable power slot without having to reference the book.

You are now one floor up, and a dull thud echoes below you.
In the dark room, there is only a clacking, wooden sound.
The lights flare on, one by one, illuminating a wide and grisly garret.
The ceiling slopes at dangerous, non-Euclidean angles. Racks stand around the edges. The floorboards are brownish red, and it isn't because of varnish. Corpses and body parts are strewn everywhere, and thick red ropes of intestine mar the floor at irregular intervals. At the center of it all stands an operating table.
Upon the table is a young boy, staring in silent, agonized horror at the ceiling. His lower half is dissolving, spinning into a thin stream as it eddies away.
Standing at the end of the table is the enchanted spinning wheel. The boy's glistening red flesh feeds into it with slow, dull clacks - and a spindle of golden wire grows and grows.
You have to save him.

Wait.
That's not a boy.
The Goldsmith looks up at you.

You approach the small alcove. Inside of the small alcove is...

A door. Judging by the brittle sound that reflects off of it, it's metal, and resistant to rust. A few more localized pings reveal a small keyhole set into one edge, where the door is at its thickest. There's also some designs. You can't get a strong enough impression from the pings, so you use your fingers to discern the shapes. Interwoven serpents. No... dragons. Chinese dragons, long and serpentine, their maws wide open as if to devour your questing fingers.
You try to push the door open, but it is locked.
The rough grotto and twisty descent lie off to the side.

Nothing happens for a moment. Then blinding pain erupts in your forehead and blood spills across your face. Screaming, you reach to grab your eyes.
Only... there aren't eyes there anymore. Just a long, cold, piece of metal, slick with blood.
You extract a key from your head with shaking fingers. You're starting to feel surprisingly numb.
You realize that rhyming see with key was probably not a great idea.
You are now severely injured, bleeding, and blind.

More serpentine dragons, interlacing, flying, diving, scattered across the walls. The ceiling is filled with stalagmites - brittle, hard ones, if your ear is any judge. You can't reach them from where you stand.

You've reached a fork. The hall splits off diagonally, left and right. You can't see an end either way, and the carvings appear to remain consistent.
The floor underfoot is warm and cracked - more of the same tiles from the chamber.
You are fairly certain that wherever you are, it is not the Rainbow Caves.

You ascend to the third floor. You encounter the Goldsmith's robot hound but you're awesome enough to dodge by it entirely.
You snoop out the rooms.
It looks like the Goldsmith has been taking apart laptops and cell phones to figure out how they work. Given that the tools being used are scalpels and hammers you assess that comprehension is a long way off.
The Goldsmith has been attempting to repair the modern technology with clockwork and gears.
You find, in one of the third floor rooms, a three-legged computer case, its wires and cables dangling loose and shooting off sparks. Even without eyes and a mouth, its every movement seems to beg for premature death.
