today's shazam comic revealed there is a secret seventh member who gives power to the champion,!.
So Billy, Freddy, and Mary get all the bells and the whistles, but the other three get jipped?
The fact that those three are minorities while Billy and the others are WASP's only serves to rub more salt in the wound.

no all of them can fly and stuff, but eugene can control tech, darla is the fastest, and pedro is the strongest, we don't know if freddy, and mary excel in one specific area yet because we only saw them as a group in like 2 issues where they used powers.
but on the other hand it's kinda racist that the black girl runs good, the asian boy controls tech.

So someone here doesn't have their facts straight. Which is it?
It ain't me I just went back and read the end of their introduction where they all got the powers and they can all fly, but only eugene could control tech, darla was a bit faster, and pedro seemed to be the strongest.

Okay then.
and they only had the end of their introduction arc, and a brief fight in the first issue of their book to show off and so we don't have a lot to go off on, but it seems they all have the same set, but some have a specific stat boosted, I'm guessing freddy would have his Achilles stat boosted, mary would have atlas boosted, and billy would be zeus. or maybe he's !
also to answer alliterator from the last page, freddy goes by king shazam or he did when he first appeared.

Ah, I guess I was wrong, they have all the abilities, it's just a certain ability is supercharged.
which I don't think is too bad of an idea, but making the asian kid the one who's wisdom stat was boosted, and the black girl have her speed stat boosted seems kinda unfortunate implications
Remember when New 52 Wally West was introduced and he was a fatherless juvenile delinquent? Good times.
well at least he didnt go crazy and murder a bunch of people he's just upset barry would just not stop lying to him, and then he learned he wasn't technically supposed to exist until barry fucked up.
Personally speaking as someone who is black I'm not offended at Darla being the fastest. In fact, it's genuinely surprising to me that so few black character in superhero comics have superspeed compared to their white counterparts.

Supreme Power had a black speedster. As did Marvel's New Universe. (Both of them were unimaginatively called "the Blur.")

Wait how is that racist exactly?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Because of the stereotype that all black people are fast runners.
Huh didn't know that.
Now that I think about it, the Flash Family is 90% full of white people.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I guess Rebirth really was a flash in the pan. Goodbye Halcyon Days.
Dan Didio is legitimately a worse influence that Joe Quesada

Why can't we just have stories where the heroes defend the oppressed and defeat evil in every issue? I'll just go back to my Pre-Crisis archive binge...
Because one time in the 80s Alan Moore and Frank Miller wrote some subversive comics about superheroes and we've spent the last 30 years playing catch up.
I can't believe I'm doing this but I have to say Quesada did do some good things, and his 2000-2004 period before he seriously started going nuts with Executive Meddling is one of my favorite Marvel eras. He's also a really good artist.
I've never heard much of anything positive about Didio, who just seems like an overgrown frat bro.
