Feels like the new episode is a Sequel Episode to Amending Fences, my favorite episode (Minuette). It even had a flashback to the first episode.
Pretty sure Tobias is gonna hate it, since it has that sameish problem he has with Amending Fences.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play...I do not understand why the Cutie Marks of Celestia, Luna, and Sparkles are on the magic tree.
I really do not.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.I don't think anyone really *does*, out of universe, but we can make some really good guesses.
All I can get for the moment is a vague sense that, in the context of the story it came from, it was meant to prove that Sparkles was meant to be a Alicorn and a Princess in the same way Celestia and Luna are.

Which does not sit right because being destined to be a thing means nothing as to whether you're going to be good at it.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. From a narrative perspective, being destined to do something and being good at doing the thing (or at least being able to learn how) is typically a package deal. If the prophecy says that the hero is going to succeed, it doesn't make sense that they're clumsy and inept every time we see them except for that one time.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...I mean, the marks on the tree seems to insinuate that she was destined to be a Princess.
And Sparkles got that part in the bag. She is a Princess. Her destiny, as far we can tell it's supposed to be, has been fulfilled.
However, that's all it seems to be saying. It's nothing more then a post-it note saying "bee-tee-dubs, Sparkles was always meant to be a Alicorn Princess the same way Celestia and Luna were".
O.K...is that all? You got any specifics, tree? Anything else?
No?
O.K.
It seems to be a unnecessary and useless affection that contributes no value to the story it's a part of because Sparkles's problems were not really tied to her doubts about whether she should be a Princess. It was about how her life as a Princess was causing problems for her life as Sparkles, keeping her away from her companions.
In that context, knowing the whole "destined to be a Princess" thing does not really help.
Heck, from what little I know from this forum, it's never been explained or even brought up again.
Edit: If I'm not wrong, there were complaints from Season three about how Sparkles was being singled out as "super special", more so then her companions. I feel as though this moment may be part of those complaints.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Hey. For those who haven't been following her career since she left this show, Lauren Faust has a new show out. It's called DC Super Hero Girls. Now, the title DC Super Hero Girls has been used to refer to a bunch of media where all the main characters are girls, there's a Lego movie, a bunch of other movies, BUT, Faust is only involved with the specific television series made up of 11 minute episodes, and that version has unique character designs. She is not involved with any of the other stuff that has the title DC Super Hero Girls. Also, M. A. Larson is involved in said series. It chronicles the adventures of six high school age female superheros. Also, while My Little Pony basically has no violence, in the first episode Wonder Woman and Supergirl get into a fist fight where Wondy tackles Supergirl to the ground then punches her in the face repeatedly until her head makes a hole in the floorboards.

I like that series! Even if the characterization of Supergirl there throws me off a whole bunch.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself. The specific lineup is, Batgirl, voiced by Tara Strong, because there is a law that says she must be in everything, Wonder Woman, Bumblebee, a Green Lantern, Zatanna, and Supergirl, who is voiced by Nicole Sullivan, who voiced Shego on Kim Possible and the mom on the The Secret Saturdays. What I've seen of the show is really good so far. All the characters' personalities are super well defined. But again, the DC Super Hero Girls title is used for a bunch of stuff and Faust and Larson are only involved in this one specific series, so unless you see that specific line-up of six characters, Faust and Larson weren't involved in it.

I'm now picturing the show as a crossover with Transformer's Bumblebee.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI've been meaning to watch it but I'm still procrastinating on watching the newer MLP episodes so those come first.
This song needs more love. Finally managed to catch up with the season premier. There are a lot of things I like about it, and the air of finality it brings does make me feel a lot of things (bad and good), but there are a couple of thoughts that I have.
- Discord's entire presence here feels unnecessary. I get that he's too iconic a character to not have involved somehow, but the fact that he so effortlessly overpowers Sombra does ruin the tension, especially given that he apparently faked his injury to motivate the cast. I feel like if there were a more plot-relevant reason for him to not get involved, or if he were actually injured somehow, then it would work better. As it is, the writers have a lot of work cut out for them to make sure he can't just snap is fingers and resolve the conflict.
- The Elements of Harmony being broken. I get what they were going for there, but this isn't the first Twilight saw them be shattered. The very first lesson she learned in the show is that their true power is inside herself and her friends.
- Why would Celestia and Luna not think to give Twilight more time to prepare for becoming their heiress? Thrusting that sort of thing onto someone with an unsubtly-coded anxiety disorder doesn't seem very tactful, especially considering it really wasn't necessary to the plot to give her no time. You could have all the same overall character beats and storyline if they just made it clear from the start it wouldn't happen right away, at least then it wouldn't make Celestia look like a jerk.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI know she's tecnically learned it before, but given how it's the last season I kinda like the symmetry of her having forgotten something she learned SO LONG AGO. Discord even mentioned that she'd "lost sight of it" and it does make sense. Ever since that first episode she's had the tree, or the elements or some other artifact to rely on.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThe Quibble Pants episode is the one I'm most looking forward to, even more than the Crusaders one.
see my completed Tangled (Varian) fanfic collection! https://archiveofourown.org/works/24467056/chapters/59049532I’ve managed to keep myself unspoiled on plot specifics beyond the season premiere, so I’m looking forward to it even more.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play
This was a nice episode. Except for the searching montages, it's true. I really like Dusty Pages, and it seems like she and Twilight had a cute relationship.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
