Whats the lukic verse..

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."

It's named after DC veteran Butch Lukic. The movies he's produced (Superman: Man Of Tomorrow, The Justice Society: World War 2, and Batman: The Long Halloween) are all in a shared universe.

Cool. Still, it took us 10 years to get another Green Lantern film.

I invented the term "Lukicverse" in this very forum mere months ago. It means exactly what jessicadicicco610 says it means.

Does the ... other Catwoman movie even count as a Catwoman movie?

The five best Superman writers are Dan Jurgens, Jeph Loeb, Geoff Johns, Kurt Busiek, and Peter J. Tomasi.

Okay how? He was making a fist for crying out loud.

Man this is as bad as how Bane constantly gets taken out by having the fucking tube at the back of his neck cut off.

How is Hal's hand okay? How did he not get huirt from Supes apparently forcing his fist open at super speed? Than again, Bats has stolen the GL ring also.

Like everyone's stolen Hal's ring at this point.

It's the go to bullshit whenever a writer wants to have a brief scuffle with a GL, but doesn't want it to actually last longer than a minute, so they just say "hey, he has no powers without the ring, maybe they just take it off" regardless of how little sense it makes to easily stop the fight.

Greg Weisman talked about Catwoman Hunted. He gave two interesting details:

1. The voice director is Jamie Thomason, who he's worked with on all his shows.

2. Continuity wise, it's adjacent to Young Justice.

Its incredible how Green Lantern is still treated like crap over a movie that is now literally ten years old.

"Oh yes Hal was in a bad movie, guess that means we have to treat him like hes a fucking weak-ass moron every time he appears."

It is kinda sad that Hal gets dunked on by everything nowadays lol.

It is.

I love Kyle. I love John. And everyone loves Guy.

But Hal can be good too. Any character can be good if they're given the chance. Hal is not being given that chance.

He's being treated like the black sheep for something that's not his fault, in addition to getting hit with the this character is boring label, which is really an excuse writers come up with because they don't want to even try.

I think this situation is pretty common when the writers want to estabilish a single hero/villain as a threat to the entire world, because of which everybody else is nerfed enough so that they would all lose if they fought him. Like Superman in a lot of "Superman turns evil" plotlines, Batman in "Batman becomes super ruthless" plotlines and ec.

The story needs to give justyfication on why this particilar hero/villain is suddently a threat to the entire Justice League and a single major member of it can't take him down, despite by previous showings being able too, like i think Wonder Woman showed herself to be capable of fighting and beating Superman by her own, same with Flash and several other superheroes. Green Lantern by all logic should be able to give far more of a fight to Superman, but since the movie is around 80 minutes long, need to show how powerful Superman is quickly.

And it just so happens that Hal is rather common victim of that. Being a "puchbag" for other heroes to show how cool they are.

Even when it isn't a hero gone bad story, there have been stories where one member takes out the other members to save the day in the long run.

Maybe Hal is just the least popular Lantern.

Like, they did decide to pull the Parallax thing way back when. They were willing to throw him under the bus that hard, and it's only because Geoff Johns liked him that he came back.

Sometimes I feel like the DC Universe just exists so Batman and Co. can look cool beating up characters people recognize.

This is actually one of the silliest parts because DC created some of the most stupidly OP characters. Every time you see Green Lantern in movies, cartoons, or games, they're likely using a fraction of the power levels the show in comics.

And yet, Batman is popular so he, Joker, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, have to on regular basis straight up embarrass those living gods. Like when Catwoman took on 3 Flashes at once in seconds that one time.

wild mass guessThey feel sorry for the Badass Normal characters and thus don't try to beat them. Which makes it funny that Superman will sometimes practically kidnap Batman to get him to not be so moody. Meaning if Bruce wasn't expecting it, Clark could do whatever he wanted to Bruce and Bruce would be helpless.

There should be a parody of the DC universe where all metahumans are living gods and normals are hilariously edgy weirdos and everything contrives to let edgy guys be effective.

For example, their Superman/Batman is Celestius, a super buff, floating man with a booming voice and glowing eyes, and Knifestab, an unshaved dude in a dirty black cloak with permafrown and a pair of knives with crimson red blades.

"As the heroes enter the room, armed men jump out of nowhere and open fire. Celestius captures every bullet with his bare hands and then calls upon the power of Three Angels to disintegrate each one of them, down to the last atom. By the time he's done, Knifestab managed to stab everyone, including himself."

The old world's finest comics would have mooks be just as scared of Batman as they were of Superman. Even though some of the stories had Batman not be much more than the human that Superman needs to keep safe in thos story. Sometimes they'd avert Story Breaker Teamup but not always. Has Batman ever survived things that are so ridiculous that it would be more believable that Clark is wearing the bat costume? Because that has happened. Usually to trick some aliens or bad guys.

I remember Batman outran the Omega Beams in the DCAU. Granted, he probably would've died if a Parademon hadn't conveniently gotten in the way to eat the blast for him.

He didn't outrun them. He avoided them long enough to put an enemy in the way of the blast.

Batman is way more capable when with the Justice League. Though, it wouldn't be fun if he were barely more useful than Lois Lane. Now, I don't know why the Silver Age JLA had Snapper Carr hang out with them.
