Double-post with the Soccer thread on Yack Fest.
In regards to what happened yesterday between my country and Germany... I have just one thing to say.
I am cheering for you now Germany!
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Not quite related to the protests by related to Brazil, I just saw this: Brazil at War - an Allied propaganda film after Brazil joined the war effort against Hitler, designed to teach Americans all about their new friends and demonstrate the similarities between the two countries. Thought it might be interesting for Brazilian tropers to see.
Brazil was, of course, well rewarded for its allegiance with a shiny new military government in 1964.

Schild und Schwert der ParteiA collection of pictures of people who were cheering, both before and after the match.
I feel sorry for them, especially the old man on pictures 5 and 6. But this result is necessary if we want The People to go back to showing their discontent with The Government.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Old guy at the top of the page looks weirdly like my grandpa...
I'm baaaaaaackHe's certainly not my grandpa then.
I'm baaaaaaackFrom when this post started, I have to say that the situation in Brazil FAR WORSENED, with a new technocratic right-wing government taking power through what the left wing called a State Coup(more like a Chronic Backstabbing Disorder case, indeed...) like the one against Zelaya and Lugo(and Kirchner???) or the one they claim that is happening against Maduro(and Bashar al Assad?).
Anyway, we have a very corrupt and inefficient left-wing threw away from executive power, and a more corrupt and baby-eating right wing in command, partly thanks to right-wing motivated civic protests around the country.
Nanananananananannaananabatmanbatman! That's an interesting analysis. Can you share with us the source of your information/insights?
Not sure if serious.
And that's how I ended up in the wardrobe. It Just Bugs Me!According to socialists, yeah.

And that's how I ended up in the wardrobe. It Just Bugs Me!From his tone I'm faaiirly certain he's a troll, but then again you do get those guys who've drunk the koolaid enough to actually talk like that, so....
Well, I thought it worthwhile to give him a chance, if only to hear a new point of view. What is the political climate in Brazil these days.
Why do we have three Brazil threadsnote , anyway?

It seems that the Brazilian troopers are more likely to spread out. Look at how China often dominates the East Asia thread, as other East Asian stuff ends up in national threads, even though China has a thread of its own. Argentina and Venezuela have their own threads (with the Argentina one having started out as being about bitching about Argentina bitching about the Falklands) and I'm not sure if we have that many troopers from the rest of South America or Latin America.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranOriginally, this thread was supposed to be dedicated to a specific set of protests. Those are long over, but I can see an argument in favor of making this the "Brazilian Politics" thread, if such is felt to be desirable.
Well, one of the three threads is called 'South America culture and politics thread', so...
This is really supposed to be a protest thread, so unless the protests come back, I'm cool with moving the political discussions to the other thread.
I would countribute more to the south america thread if it were actually about latinamerica, because I am not from the south.
To get more on topic since this is a resurgent issue.
There were yet more protests in March that are sort of a continuation of anti-government protests of the past year +. Again it is aimed at government corruption.
Reuters article sums it up pretty well
BBC's article on the issue which ties it to the protests of last year
Basically it seems to boil down to the public being mad about rampant government corruption in general.
Can't really blame them for being angry.

Who watches the watchmen?@Quag 15: Well, if you read the OP of that thread you will see it was supposed to be the focal thread for Brazilian politics, but a mod decided to change the thread's name because, I'unno. The thread was made to be Brazil-specific and most posters there seem to treat it as such, seeing that, y'know, we already have a thread for Latin America-specific discussions after all.
Necroing a thread here, but I wonder how brazilian tropers are feeling the effects of the trucker protests that are happening this week?
Well, having a fuel shortage and my a big party of my family business working with food distribution is taking its toll.
Inter arma enim silent leges
Richly deserved, though. I think the fans deserve better, but the Brazilian FA and the team certainly don't. A truly woeful performance, not helped by them kicking like spoiled children and diving like little bitches trying to get a cheap penalty. One of the worst displays of "football" I have ever seen.
If Brazilians want to kick off (heh) after that shit, I don't blame them in the slightest.
