I hope it isn't a full sequel or homage to RPM. It has to stand out for being different. At least the villains won't be aliens again.
Mileena MadnessAh, space, the last frontier, and an endless source of dangerous enemies to blow up spectacularly.
Wake me up at your own risk.Okay, I just have to toss in a hypothetical vs intro of my own. They’re just a lot of fun.
TJ: “You know the team sees me the real leader, right?”
Andros: “I’d like to prove you wrong.”
TJ: “And I’d like to see you try.”
As for the Beast Morpher’s stuff, I’m tentatively excited. The cast looks good, but I’m expecting some growing pains as Hasbro figures this stuff out.
The new figure line looks fantastic though. I’m hoping that the figures are similar enough that you can get away with some kitbashing. Say, if they also release a Jason figure, being able to put Jason’s unmorphed head onto the White Ranger body.
Isn't the show still being produced by Saban? I thought Hasbro bought the film and merchandise licenses.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireBeast Morphers cast. Only main three so far - Silver and Gold turn up in episode 14 of the Sentai though so they might turn up pretty soon.
I do wonder if they'll stick to the two series setup.
Nice, the males are all Po C. Nice to see a bit more of diversity in the cast compared to the previous ones like Dino Thunder where they had at least the white male as the Red Ranger. Now we get to see a black and an Indian as the Red and Blue Rangers respectively.

The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy. For a brief moment I thought I was looking at the RPM cast again. The red ranger having dreads didn't help.
Nonetheless, they look good.
The Red and Yellow Beast Morpher Rangers do look like they could be stunt doubles for RPM. I wonder how they’ll cast for Gold and Silver though. I’d like for them to make at least one of the two a girl, so the cast has a better gender balance.
A part of me thinks it was done on purpose. Everything about this season is just screaming, "Remember RPM!" to me. Hell, this is the first time since RPM that the Morphin Grid has been brought up.

Well, in the TV cannon anyway.
On that subject, the Beast Morphers turn up in MMPR Issue 30. It's just in-suit in a crowd but a neat Early-Bird Cameo nonetheless.
Yeah...maybe this wasn't the best Sentai to adapt since it was directly inspired by RPM, so the similarities will be all the more obvious to us. That and the fact that RPM is one of the most beloved seasons and Beast Morphers is going have a hard time winning the adult audience over, though I suppose we are a periphery demographic, so it doesn't really matter in the end.
"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"Wait, Go-Busters is based off of RPM? Like actually the Power Rangers show RPM and not Engine Sentai Go-onger which RPM is based on?
I don't think "Based off" so much as it's clearly threading similar parallels (Evil computer virus, merging morphing grid with dna. Animal + Vehicle theme).
BTW the main villain is totally not Evolto guys. They only have the same kind of snake motif. :V

Mileena MadnessFrom what I've read, the Japanese actually really liked RPM and borrowed a lot of ideas from it for Go Busters.
"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"The circle is now complete.
Wake me up at your own risk. When I left you I was but a learner. Now I am the master

Mileena MadnessFirst thing I noticed (and normally don't notice these things) is that there is only one white girl and the two guys are very dark skinned. That will obviously change with the sixth rangers, but usually there is two white characters on the team, even in the three character starting group.
Question: Did Reuben Langdon and Dan Southworth help any of their fellow Power Rangers alumni get in contact with Capcom to be involved in their properties? We have Johnny Yong Bosch as the voice of Nero and Zero, Patricia Ja Lee as the voice and motion capture actor for Jill Valentine, Jason Faunt as Leon Kennedy's motion capture actor in Resident Evil 6 and Vendetta and Erin Cahill as Rebecca Chambers' voice and motion capture actress. I'm just wondering if maybe having some connections with Southworth and Langdon helped them land those roles.
Personally, I’m hoping that the sixth and seventh rangers add more diversity as well. I’d really like for them to do what they did with Trini and various others, by casting a woman in one of the roles so that it isn’t just one girl on a five person team.
Plus, we could always use another canonically gay character in this franchise.
Another? Who was the first?
Oh right, Trini in the movie.

(V)(;,,;)(V)It'd be nice to see one on the TV show proper, as long as they don't botch it.
Wake me up at your own risk.I would really appreciate a gay Ranger. Representation matters a lot in kids shows and I feel like they've had some alright relationships recently.
x5 Had Chantz Simpson not dropped from Ninja Steel, that would have been the first season with just one white person.
Agreed. They've already confirmed that "one is a robot", which I imagine will be PR!J.
It reminds me a lot of Amit Bhumik's own Go-Busters pitch, which was intended to be a sequel to RPM. Food for thought there.
