Jason - sure, MMPR red, standard

Zoey and Nate - development on this show probably started during Beast Morphers, so makes sense that two of them are there. Not entirely sure why those two.

Koda and Kendal - this one I don't really know. I know it was a popular season, so I guess maybe it was popular enough to include here... As much as I like those two, still interesting choices.

Another page also shows that Zedd is in it. Again, pretty standard choice.

Those suits are very notably off-model. To be fair, the weird visors probably improve visibility a lot for the performers (apparently some of the show helmets are really hard to see out of), and they're meant to be seen from a further distance, so it's not too bad.

[up] Stage show suits have almost aways been off-model mainly because they get roughed up much more than the standard tv/movie-use shows and therefore need to be less expensive so as to not lose much money

Sentai stage shows have better helmets lol

The suits are fine, though.

I recall Claire Blackwelder expressed interest on being part of a live show, maybe she will indeed be part of it and that's why Kendall is so prominent?

I've been following Simon Bennett on his Twitter and on it he has been revealing some stuff from Dino Fury:

  • Mucus is a girl!
  • He compares park ranger Garcia's reaction to the idea of aliens somewhat akin to covid deniers. That's the explanation of why people don't believe in aliens or Power Rangers in-universe.
  • Apparently he was originally going to be a cop. He doesn't explicitly say why the change, but implies that last year's political climate made them change him into a park ranger with a lot of authority instead.

Okay, that does make it easier for me to accept.

Nice to have some clarification on Mucus. I saw some confusion over her Sentai counterpart, Kleon, back during early Ryusoulger; voiced by a woman, but seems to be male. Though he is a space slime mushroom, so...

Plus if Garcia is connected to Black and Green, you kinda want your supporting characters to be less effective and less maliciously capable than a cop.

People talk about how it would be impossible for Lupinranger vs Patoranger to be adapted with the climate, but SPD proved it can work though. We had cops that learned to be decent people, criminals that weren't murdered and a few times we saw they weren't guilty, cops that turned evil and went bad, and the idea you can be a hero with or without the badge. It can work honestly, you just need the right people behind the job.

Plus, antihero Rangers aren't exactly a new idea to this franchise. Eric and the original Magna Defender are the best examples and they could be less moral than a trio of gentleman thieves.

At the very least I hope the cast is balanced.

I wouldn't want the thieves to overtake the cops. Its more interesting when you even out things.

For Lupiranger vs Patranger, there are three cops and three thieves. The Sixth Ranger is a weird cross between both.

Sadly as the show went on. They tended to focus on the lupinrangers more. I guess their cooler aesthetic attracted people more.

Granted I think Lupinranger was a bomb or at least had pretty low viewership so that didn't exactly work out well for them.

It's not exactly the case.

  • The show DID WELL, but the TOYS didn't. It got enough buzz that Kiramager even made a reference to it when the girl Umika wanted to save wrote a manga about their adventurers so people did like the story.
  • It's less of the thieves got more popularity than the cops, but they got more powerups than the cops. Keiichiro and Tsukasa got enough development especially in the latter and middle half.

Then again Beast Morphers and Dino Fury show they're willing to change up powerups and abilities so they could fix the powerup imbalance.

[up][up][up] The Lupinrangers were always the true protagonists. The Patrangers were always secondary to them. Recent commemorative toys just uses Lupin Red to represent the season.

If Lu Pat does get adapted I get the feeling PR would do a better job of balancing the teams. Just look at how they treat other red rangers like Eric or Lauren compared to their Sentai counterparts. A season with 2 main red rangers? Holy shit, I can only imagine the writers room throwing all sorts of crazy ideas.

[up][up] Literally every Sentai is "the lowest rated of all time". No Sentai show has had a spike in ratings since Shinkenger, every Sentai after has lower ratings than the previous season. Toys sales are the standard over how successful a season is, but lately all Sentai shows have had low sales. It's more of a trend of Sentai as of late.

Hell, they might bring out the old Hexagon idea- maybe tie it into SPD, with the Patarangers being members of SPD while the Lupinrangers are a more homegrown force that don't like SPD for some reason.

Actually, images for the Patranger Gear also have shown up, in both the red variant like the special promo Lupinranger Gear, and the normal gold variant. The Gear is labeled 42 just like Lupinranger Gear, and features Patren #1 on the front and Patranger logo on the back.

I'm not sure where image for the gold one came from, probably gashapon set poster or something. But the special red variant Patranger Gear is shown in the usual Televikun magazine, apparently a promo for the next volume after the volume with red variant Lupinranger Gear.

No Dino Fury this weekend, but plenty of news

I'll take words I never thought I'd see for $2.95 please.

Seriously though, that does sound ambitious.

Better not be crowd-funded, given this fandom's history with fan-films.

In one of the recent comics Zack has an older brother who is on the staff of a US Senator. Is that character from the show? If so I wonder if he’ll come up here.

As far as I can recall, outside of his parents, the only other family member of his introduced was a cousin.
