Parable, we who are about to die, salute you!
Anyone want to chime in on what to call your guy's fort in the forest?
The Fortress of Solitude!!!
Oh wait...that's taken. XD
Ah, but if I use a thesaurus.... "The Forlorn Stronghold" isn't copyrighted
Though in all seriousness, I think the words "Stronghold" and "Citadel" are cool, but I'm not very attached to them.
I'm rather fond of Stronghold, though a proper noun for the place is eluding me at the current moment.
Also I have a couple of questions about the magic. When you say it draws from the physical body, does that mean that using too much spells would exhaust someone and thus require them to rest or eat so they can 'recharge'? Are there any items that could help enhance magic (I wouldn't say something like wands per say, but along those lines)? Do you need to recite a spell to activate magic, and if so then is it possible -say for much more advanced sorcerors- to use magic without the aid of words?
they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobUsing too many spells, using the same spell repeatedly, or and using complex spells you've haven't quite gotten down will indeed wear you out. Without proper conditioning you're whole body will just be totally tired out and you will need to some R&R before getting back to full strength.
As for the items; none that you know of.
You don't need to recite the words of the spell to use it, but it does help with focusing your mind on the correct spell.
The Burrow is also already taken...meh.
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple. How about something less military, like "Haven" or "Sanctuary"?
I guess Stronghold wins then.
Before we start, here's some food for thought: The Sorcerers formed a little over two years ago. They are primarily based in the northeastern part of the country and have steadily spread their influence with small outposts throughout the land. You guys recently celebrated your second year anniversary and the founding of your first outpost in the western provinces. There were about 300 of you guys running around before the Chief Warlock suddenly cracked down on you guys. Many are now dead or captured. A few have made themselves scarce and are hold up in the west where they are less noticeable and the majority of the remaining free ones are with you in the Stronghold, where you've been under siege for about a week.
Depending on when your character joined, he or she would have had anywhere between those two years and this last week to have gotten to know everyone else. At the very least they'd be familiar with everyone's names after seeing them scheduled for laundry duty or something. So if you guys want to plan with each other about which characters were friends or rivals or mad at each other for stealing their pudding, now would be a good time to do it.
Booooo. Haven.
If any of you want to be best friends with Klaus, you can take credit for teaching him how to read. *
But don't touch my pudding.
Well, my character is a former thief and old habits die hard, soo....
"A post per day keeps the GMs away!"Heh, this reminds me a bit of kindergarden, but I'll play...
*lisp* "Do you want to be my friend?"

Complicated - because simple is simply too simple. You mean meanie.
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.Hi, everyone! I look forward to playing with you all.
As a general rule, I think that Gareth will be most friendly towards those who share similar views as him towards the Chief Warlock and pals, and he probably won't be very chummy with people who he views as too "soft" on them. I know that's so general as to possibly be all but meaningless, but I hope it provides a somewhat useful guide. The one character who I can think of an opinion for right off the bat is montmorencey's character - Gareth will probably be disinclined to trust him (at least until he "proves" himself in his eyes, which there will no doubt be many opportunities for throughout the roleplay).
Also, props to Parable for picking an unusual point to plonk ourselves in. Most RPs of this nature would take place before we were hemmed in on all sides, not during it, and it's a bit of a breath of fresh air. I wonder how our heroes will get out of this (if at all)?
Locking you up on radar since '09Thanks, Flanker!
Game is up. You all can start off answering the roll and depicting what your character is doing being surrounded by the army.
So, I mentioned this in the other RP I'm currently involved with, but I thought I'd bring it up here to be sure. I'm very much a noob at RP Gs, so if I do something that's bad manners or...whatever...don't hesitate to tell me and I'll mend my ways.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to this and...yeah. Sorry for the monster-posts.
Monster posts are gooooood. If anything, I feel bad because I'm writing comparitively tiny posts; it makes it feel like I'm wasting what you wrote.
You're doing fine, BTW.
Locking you up on radar since '09Glad to hear that :D
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.Victory or death, Sorcerers! Feel free to make up whatever NP Cs you need to move your part of the story, just make sure you coordinate with each other before applying them to other player characters.
Quick question: Does the Griffon Knights attack those who are on the tower as well, or are they all too focused on the easy pickings below the ground?
"A post per day keeps the GMs away!"I believe that was addressed:
.*seriously needs to read closely next time* >_<
