Ok, so I've gotten to the other continent and found the petrified Latis. Also, I didn't get to fight Entei! Even though I'm not supposed to story-wise. I would've preferred a boss battle to "calm it down".

So do moves you "level up" apply to ALL Pokemon? As in, if I slot Ice Beam on my Totodile, anyone else with Ice Beam also has the same power level?

Ok. Hi. I just finished the main game (wait, wait! No I'm not going to spoil anything I just wanted to add some exposition before the actual post none of which is related to the story if I may add) with Chimchar and Riolu (when I started with gen IV they were the first two I got to lv 100) and just started the epilogue (probably going to delay it a fair bit and get some more connections).

So anyways while getting more connections I found a Lucario in Baram Town who wanted to talk to me about aura and I would get a connection. Interestingly enough after the fade to black the Lucario ended with "Aura leads to light." and by his introduction I got connected to a Mareep as well. I just want to ask if I'm the only one who sees a hidden meaning here and I'm going crazy.

So I moved on with the story, and that part with Entei on the volcano was awesome. Well with some luck I reached that battle with a 6-slot Weather Looplet with three Power Boost X, one Power Boost Y, and Type Bulldozer (and Big Ears but that wasn't relevant to the damage). It became amusing that my partner's Magical Leaf was doing 86 damage a shot to a fire-type monster. Compared to my 32 damage water gun.

And yeah, I noticed that the interludes was becoming more of the a POV switch to the partner's diary/thoughts now rather than the protagonist's inner monologue.

But hey, if partner wants to go to nice places, as the OP Totodile protagonist, I'm here to oblige.

From meeting other starter evos in other places, I've been wondering if my player and the partner are ever going to evolve. Probably not? Never?

Finally, I've been finding that Salamence is busy and unusable, a lot. Unlike Dragonite. Haha.

I can't see it, sadly. Unless the connection was because of your Riolu's potential aura future.

Or like it's supposed to be some kind of cheeky pun, perhaps lost in translation. Aura leads to a light bulb?

Mareep and its evolutions are all the "Light" pokemon. Lucario is the aura pokemon. Lucario introduces you to Mareep. Aura leads to light.

Congrats on making it to Entei. And an even bigger congrats on wasting all your reviver seeds. Come to think of it. The entire point of the first battle was to probably eat up some of your reviver seeds so it doesn't feel like you completely wasted all of them... Good thing I had a petrify orb.

I was thinking it more lucario leading a religion with mareep being a sheep. I completely forgot about it being the light Pokemon. To be honest though I've never caught one.

Actually I didn't die, I ate 2 Blast Seeds. And it proceeded to phase 2.

Oh... I didn't even want to get close to him. I just used ember and vacuum wave since I had a type bulldozer on me.

Well I had to get close to him to Blast Seed him, boss attack miss once though, and fire attack was resisted, which means I should've have spent 1 tiny reviver seed, but in the end I didn't because of a lucky miss.

So I like the references to older PMD games, makes me wonder if they're the same characters however unlikely! Chatot looking for the guildmaster. Virizion looking for Keldeo. They are connection orb quests.

So I'm now at the part where I head back home. I hope Espurr comes back as a party member. I don't know why, but I have the sinking feeling that one of my party members are going to be kidnapped and beaten up by Krookodile. I know this game can't possibly have this torture-like kind of plot, but this guy for now actually scares me more than the villain that's stoning everyone.

I played more! I had the same melon farming reaction!

So I got genuinely scared that Krook showed up asking for my lunch money, then some guys showed up and confronted him, OOH Serial Escalation! It got defused when evil dude revealed himself so F you evil dude I hate you, you are a bastard. Then I got scared again when ANOTHER EVIL DUDE showed up. After that Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies. WOW! I am floored.

Save and quit to menu.

I love it! Is this the first time there's Black-and-White Morality? Are our heroes dead and done for and you get to play as Ampharos and the other survivors? Find out in the next episodes of Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon?

Welcome to what I call the Grovyle effect. PMD has a habit of Making the good guys actually be bad guys and in explorers case the bad guys tied to the same chair as you watch a candle burn through a rope that will release an axe that will kill you, your partner, and the "bad guy"

Final boss was easy because I played World of Warcraft before, but I bet kids will die on the final boss repeatedly until they learn the trick. I went all-in with melee attacks! Crunch lowered its defense at some points, making it easier. Also, more Blast Seeds.

Oh, rewind! I forgot to say my partner is a racist! "I'm not a scaredy Delcatty!"

Discovered a super broken strategy that beats any boss really really easily. Go me.

You just need a stack of whirlwind wands and as many throwable items as you can carry. Use the whirlwind wand whenever they get close, spam throwable items until then. You shouldn't need any more than 2-3 whirlwind wands. There's also an emera that makes your normal 'a' attack do the same thing as the whirlwind wand

It's kinda sad that it works so well.

There are multiple ways to bring individual bosses down to size. Item Abuse is fair game.

That said, dungeons themselves have gotten pretty darn difficult post game. I lost for the first time after going in one of the dungeons solo.

I have to say thank you Glorious Gold. I don't have to farm Reviver Seeds anymore. Just Gold Bars. Which is easier and basically along the way of harder missions.

Ok so postgame spoilers, apparently this Replacement Goldfish has a problem and is sick, and how someone wants to kill him. I know Never Say "Die" applies, but words like "eradicate" and "purify" were used. I can't have that! Literal rescue mission go! Fortunately this isn't a solo mission, I get to grab my best buds Dragonite and Azumarill.

I'M BAAAAAACK! so I heard you guys like depression. We'll you won't get a finer dose of depression than by completing the story (epilogue not included).

I prefer to use charizard, alakazam, and salamance if/whenever I can. If I need to get rescued from a tough dungeon it's my break glass in case of to many expensive items so to speak.
