@DBL:

Updated the OP to have Subaru Nakajima during StrikerS.

@The Kurgan:

Hoo boy, it seems this has prompted a lot of discussion.

Since Vox is more familiar with Highlander than me, tell me - could Kurgan restrain himself enough not to get everyone out for his blood within the first day? I'm fine with having flat-out evil characters, but being too antagonistic might make it extremely difficult to come up with reasons for the more heroic characters not to be out for his blood.

As for the regeneration, well, if he is pretty much just a swordsman with little else to distinguish him (albeit a superhuman swordsman), I'd say it's okay for him to have a very good regeneration factor - just not one that means he can come back from even the most debilitating injuries after just a day.

I'm genuinely unsure what would be the best thing in regards to the regeneration despite what I just said, since on the one hand I don't want to make it flat out impossible for him to compete with everyone else, but on the other I also don't want to end up with a broken character or a contravention of the immortality rule.

Right now I'm undecided - information would be much appreciated, though we should avoid cluttering the sign-up thread as Plumbum said and take this to discussion.

@Tails Doll:

Peter Parker/Spider-Man is accepted, but his spidey sense won't be infallible.

@Plumbum:

Tanner is accepted.

@Teh Stanman:

Ghi Yelgi is accepted, but the secondary results will not be active.

@Game Guru:

Shampoo is accepted.

EDIT:

@Saintly Anathema:

Um, I'm very sorry to tell you this, but Deadbeatloser already claimed Subaru Nakajima (it'd probably create a TIME PARADOX of some sort to have two running around).

Feel free to pick another character, though, and I would like to apologise again.

[up] He's got barely enough smarts to realise that having various powerful people (who he's forced to coexist with) desperate for his blood is a bad idea in the long run. He'll still probably rub people the wrong way, but not to the point where they try to kill him on sight.

You're right. In practice it's mostly a pretty good regeneration factor, and if someone were to chop off an arm for instance, it would probably take weeks to heal.

Okay, The Kurgen is approved, with the caveat that he merely has superb regeneration and he is not immortal.

Actually, Deadbeat withdrew his application for Subaru and later was debating on which character sheet sheet to use, when Saintly Anathema posted hers own character sheet.

Basically, I wouldn't count her out unless Deadbeat clarifies the situation since he did withdraw his application before Saintly Anathema posted hers.

  • Name: Galen “Starkiller” Marek
  • Age: 20 year old
  • Species: Human
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearance: Don't make me hurt you.
  • Verse: Star Wars (Upon Vader’s First Betrayal of Him)
  • Personality: Galen, trained in the dark side of the force is consumed by passion and raw emotion. He always helped defend the Galactic Empire and fulfill his master's will, however powerful and confident, Starkiller demonstrated many different sides to his personality. He was wary of his purpose in life and what he was meant to do; he began with a sure focus on the Sith destiny trained into him by Vader. However, his exposure to both the Jedi, the light side of the Force, and also to the reality of Sith life caused his focus to waver. One thing Galen does possess is absolute loyalty, to his friends.

  • Powers/Equipment:
    • - Personal Lightsaber
    • - Faded and tattered combat uniform
    • - Skilled lightsaber duelist and combatant with knowledge in many forms
    • - Force Powers: Mostly limited telekinesis and low powered sith lightning, however possess knowledge of a few basic force powers as well.
  • Background: Up to the first betrayal by Vader

  • Name: Haruko Haruhara
  • Age: 19 (she claims...)
  • Species: Alien
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: 100% normal...
  • ‘Verse: FLCL
  • Personality: Haruko is the most spontaneous, unpredictable, erratic and flat-out dangerous character in FLCL. Everything she does makes no sense whatsoever and those unfortunate enough to be in her way swiftly suffers her wrath. However, this is all a front to cover her true self and her true intentions.
  • Powers/Equipment: Haruko would not be Haruko without her trusty guitar and Vespa. The guitar is unlike any other guitar seen before. It's capable of acting like both a machine gun and a rocket launcher. It can also fly too. Her Vespa also has some degree of sentience as it immediately comes to her whenever she calls for it.
  • Background: All that is known about Haruko is that she came from outer space. All other information on her comes from what she says about herself and what others say about her, which is that she is totally insane. It isn't clear if she is a hero or a villain because of how erratic she is as a person. She mostly works as a maid as the story progresses.

Here's my signup sheet. I've included a few small ability additions that I feel Altair was supposed to have, based on playing the flashbacks to him in Revelations and stuff; rather than just strictly what he could do in the first game.

Also, I have to spoil the ending of the first game, just in case anyone cares. I made sure to spoiler tag the relevant parts.

  • Name: Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad
  • Age: 26
  • Species: Human
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearance: A hidden blade in the crowd... Of note that's not possible to make out in this image is his missing ring finger on his left hand.
  • 'Verse: Assassin's Creed Just after the (past) events of the first game.
  • Powers and equipment: Altair has spent over half his life being trained to hone and master his given weapons and abilities by the assassin order. Everything mentioned below he can be assumed to be masterfully skilled in; as well as just about any weapon from his time period, or that functions closely enough. He is especially skilled at parrying and countering oncoming melee attacks. He can even brawl with his fists, though he does much better with a weapon.
    • His primary weapon is his personal sword; a long, smooth, straight blade with the cross guard shaped like eagle wings and the pommel like an eagle's head, and a dark brown leather grip. Kept sheathed at his side in a leather scabbard.
    • After that is his short blade; a janbiya style curved dagger that he wields in reverse grip, very plain compared to his sword. Kept in a sheath strapped to his back, with the handle facing down.
    • His last, but most iconic melee weapon is the hidden blade; a straight, retractable blade hidden under the left forearm via a protective bracer. Used mainly for stealth kills, but he can still fight, parry, and sometimes even counter in melee combat with it.
    • His only default ranged option is throwing knives; simple knives made of one solid piece of metal, meant for throwing. He keeps a total of fifteen of these knives, in sets of five; one set kept along his waist belt; one set kept on his left boot, and one set kept behind his right shoulder.
    • First of his abilities is his ability to meld into crowds. Despite being loaded with weapons and wearing a white outfit, he has the inexplicable ability to meld in with groups of townsfolk, making himself less noticeable unless pointed out or if someone looking for him gets close enough to make him out. This includes people milling about chatting, going somewhere in a group, or just a few people sitting down near each other. Of course, it doesn't work if anyone looking for him sees him go into the group of people, so he has to make sure they're out of sight first.
    • To go with his crowd melding is his general stealth; if crowds are not available, he can rely on other places to hide, such as hay bales. He's also a good pick pocket, which he normally uses to obtain information, keys, and replacement throwing knives.
    • For escaping when combat isn't practical and stealth fails, or just general getting around/chasing, he is very good at running for extended periods of time and at freerunning and climbing. Thus he is adept at moving about urban environments. Otherwise, he is good at riding a horse. Technically, he is good at base jumping, too.
    • He possesses a sixth sense, dubbed 'eagle vision', which allows him to "instinctively sense how people and objects [are] related to [him]". This manifests as a mostly monochrome vision where people and items of interest are highlighted with glowing auras, colored based on whether they are neutral, friendly, hostile, or if he's specifically targeting them. Also notable is that it allows him to see things more easily that are normally hard or nigh impossible to make out, such as old blood stains that were already cleaned, or someone in disguise. For the purposes of this RP, this sense will be possible to fool, and he will usually need to know someone's allegiance towards him before they get a specific color assigned.
    • Last thing to note is his abnormally high willpower. When a device that can brainwash human minds en masse is used on him subtly, he doesn't even notice. When used without subtlety, he's able to fight off the maddening visions both literally and metaphorically, and still remain in control of his mind.
  • Background:
Altair's was born to a Christian mother and a Muslin father, but his mother died in childbirth, leaving him to the care of his father. His father, being an assassin, put Altair into training to become one as well at the assassin fortress of Masyaf. His father was executed by Saracens in front of Altair when he was eleven years old, putting him under the care of Al Mualim, the leader of the assassins.

In early 1191, Al Mualim sent Altair and a couple other assassins to obtain an artifact known as the 'Apple of Eden', before the Templars got a hold of it. However, Altair failed, getting one of the other assassin's killed, while the other lost one of his arms. The latter of those two assassins did manage to return the Apple of Eden however. Altair was disgraced, and after Al Mualim pretended to execute him, was reduced to the lowest assassin rank. To regain his ranks, Altair was tasked with hunting down nine individuals.

As he hunted down these nine targets, Altair began to find connections between them, and questioned Al Mualim about why they were his targets. Al Mualim eventually admitted that the nine individuals were Templars, who were after the Apple of Eden, due to the powers of illusions and brainwashing it possessed. It was only when Altair hunted down the ninth target that he learned that their group originally had ten members, the tenth being Al Mualim...

Altair returned to Masyaf to find that Al Mualim had betrayed the assassin order, and used Altair to kill off the other individuals who were after the Apple of Eden, so he wouldn't have to share. Altair confronted and killed Al Mualim after fighting through the visions Al Mualim sent after him with the Apple. It was then that he was pulled into the city.

  • Other: According to a note in the Assassin's Creed 2 game manual, the original Animus had a glitch that would cause ancestors to drown if submerged in water, regardless of whether or not they could swim. So, it's uncertain whether or not Altair really has super drowning skills.

  • Name: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
  • Age:85
  • Species: Cartoon Rabbit
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearence: cb20120622200643/disney/images/thumb/6/6a/Oswald_in_em2.jpg/258px-Oswald_in_em2.jpg Heya!
  • Verse: Epic Mickey, just between Epic Mickey 1 and 2
  • Personality: Oswald is brave, resourceful, and above all else, lucky. No mater what challenge, obstacle, or opponent may lay ahead of him, Oswald never backs down, and he'll see them all through to the end with his wits and determination. He tends to get frustrated a bit easily though, and he can be a tad short-tempered and aggresive at times, but he's generally very friendly. Oswald also loves attention, and he's the happiest when he is the center of ttention.
  • Powers/Equipment:
  • .Oswald, being a cartoon character, is incredibly durable. For example, he could be be flattened by a boulder, and pop back up as good as new a few moments later
  • .Oswald is able to detach his body parts ats will and use them as tools. For example, he can remove one of his arms and use it as a boomerang,
or can remove his ears and use them as bats or oars.
  • .Oswald, being a rabbit, has very strong legs, that he can use to jump long distances and send enemies flying with mighty kicks
  • .Oswald can spin his his ears around like the blades on a helicopter to slow his descent and glide long distances
  • .Oswald has an electrical remote control, that can shoot beams of electricity that he can use to power up machinery and electrify enemies
  • Background': Oswald was once a famous cartoon star in the late 1920's, created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks for Universal Studios. But after a dispute between Walt and the Head of Universal, Walt and Ub left to form Disney Studios, leaving Oswald behind. Oswald was soon overshadowed by Walt's and Ub's newest creation(and Oswald's younger half-brother,) Mickey Mouse, and was eventualy forgotten, which caused Oswald to resent Mickey.

Oswald soon appeared in, and was the first resident, of the Cartoon Wasteland, a world for forgotten and rejected Disney characters, and became its ruler, along with his wife Ortensia. All was well in the Wasteland, as Oswald was a great king and cared for his Cartoon subjects, but then the thinner disaster occured, a terrible event that ravaged the Wasteland and unleashed the evil and monstrous Storm Blot upon the land.

Oswald fought the Blot, and was able to trap him in a jug, but not without loss, as the Blot had left the Wasteland a ruined shadow of it's former self, The Mad Doctor, Oswald's right hand man and friend had betrayed Oswald to side with the Blot and try to conqour Wasteland, and the Blot had also taken Ortensia, Oswald's one true love, from him and turned her into a lifeless statue. With the loss of his wife, Oswald fell into a depression, and isolated himself to the top of Mickeyjunk Mountain so he could gaurd the jug and prevent the Blot from escaping.

Some time later, Mickey accidentaly found his way into the Wasteland, and after a series of events which caused the Blot to escape from his jug, eventually the two brothers were able to reconcile, and later defeat the Blot together, restoring Wasteland to it's former happy self, and also restoring Ortensia to life. Oswald, overjoyed at having his love returned to mim and his kingdsom restored, reclaimed his position of King

I think you're beating yourself up too much Deadbeat. You wrote a signup for Subaru first, so if you really want to, and get approval, you should be the one who gets to play as her, right?

Besides, it's a game. Would accidentally taking your character out of character for a little while really be the end of the world?

As I said earlier, Saintly Anathema is welcome to pick another character, since I've already accepted DBL's early-mid!Strikers!Subaru application.

@Icarus:

Galen Marek might be a tad too powerful for the RP unnerfed; this is the same guy we see crushing AT-STs with impunity and bringing down a Star Destroyer after all (even if it does take significant effort).

@Nigelstack:

Accepted.

@Firock:

Altair is accepted.

@Dezmo:

Oswald's durability will need to be toned down, but otherwise he is accepted.

Important announcement:

Since I forgot to post this yesterday, sign-ups will close tonight at 8/9pm GMT. They may re-open at a later date, but I do not wish to be overwhelmed by too many players.

@DBL:

Everything's fine, you don't need to roll up another character.

Relooking everyone over, I'd like to change to another variant of Chung. Too much melee characters and all, so might as well try to balance out the group? XD

  • Name: Chung Seiker
  • Age: 16
  • Species: Human
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearance: A somewhat more masculine Chung- Tactical Trooper. Berserker Mode.
  • ‘Verse: Elsword
  • Personality: Chung is normally calm, rational, and passive, being rather polite in most cases. He doesn't let injustice go unpunished though, and he's rather inflexible in some regards due to his upbringing as a son of a rather martial noble. In battle, he tends to become a lot more hotblooded and becomes much louder. He seeks to emulate his father, the very epitome of a perfect soldier and lord.
  • Powers/Equipment: This Chung is more range oriented and thus has less armor (until he activates Berserk Mode). Having studied alchemy, the boy is able further modify his Destroyer so that it is now double ended and capable of utilizing a substance called Disfrozen (a gunpowder alternative derived from converted El energy). Shooting it normally lets him fire from mid-range much like a real world hand-cannoneer. Turning it about increases range and power, though it severely cuts down on mobility and overall firing speed, making it more akin to a grenade launcher.
    • Unlike the Iron Paladin variant, this Chung prefers to do things at a range with his various shells and grenades, though he is capable of doing melee should it come to that; just not to the level of his more melee oriented couterpart. His attack style can be described as concentrated bombardment artillery strikes. The oversized pauldrons sitting upon his shoulders can be used as barrier drones to create temporary forcefields. By assuming a stance called Siege Shelling, Chung is able to fire arced shots and fire straight upwards, though he is rather open to retaliation in this position. "Reversed" Siege Shelling increases raw firepower in exchange for even more mobility and firing speed, though it is useful for taking down heavily armored objects.
    • Berserk Mode puts heavy full-plate armor on the rather lightly equipped Chung, along with a Machinery Core and special wing like protrusions which is actuality an El-Energy Engine, a device which allows him to create Tactical Fields (an overall energy creating space for allies) or even lob friendly grenades to people that provides energy boosts (like energy drinks without the drinking!). In this form, his accuracy and defense are raised and the boy doesn't need to physically reload his machine, though his shots are still dependent on his current Mana supply.
  • Background: Chung is on a quest to achieve enough power to liberate his home; Hamel the City of Water from the demons which are currently lodged inside its walls- along with his corrupted father. To achieve this end, he went on a journey with five other beings across his homeworld, steadily growing in strength. He is motivated to deliver justice and protect the weak from evil wherever he goes, the ideal having been shaped from his helplessness during past events.
