Max Saccharine sat with a cold beer and his new captain, writing down in his special notepad. "So we're going to change the name, right? The Blue Stallion is not a bad one but it should be more… relevant to our crew" he trailed off, waiting for Itsuki to voice his thoughts on the matter and took another swig of beer. He hoped the others were not getting into trouble, but considering what happened with Greybeard... what a fiasco.

Vice-Admiral Akauma, or rather, The Red Horse, was more irritable than usual due to the fact he was being tended to by nurses. It did not suit him to be 'injured', but… The door slammed open to reveal the imposing figure of Akainu seething. The marines in the room snapped a marine to attention, as did the nurses. Only Akauma remained sitting.

"You fool, what the Hell were you thinking charging into the New World like that!" roared Akainu, making everyone else jump in fright, except one. Guess who?

"Blow it out your ass, old man. It's not my fault I ran into Blackbeard is it?"

"It is your fault you lost an entire crew and two rear-admirals for sheer audacity. You should be court marshalled for what happened! Instead, you're going back to the Grand Line. Right to the beginning, even. The war has kick-started a few more pirate crews and they're having trouble. You will be going on a ship, as well, as further punishment" demanded Akainu, almost roaring now, and strode out again. Akauma spat some blood on the floor, glaring after him

He did not care to tell his superior what he had learnt from Blackbeard before the... demolition began, even though that laughter still rung in his ears. "Zehahaha, yes, the Blues and Grand Line will be under my control, thanks to my loyal subordinates! A group of beards all across the ocean, what a thing it will be! The Emperor's thought it was enough to have territory in the New World, but my territory will be the entire ocean! Zehahahaha"

He hoped the others were not getting into trouble, but considering what happened with Greybeard

The aforementioned Greybeard had his corpse kicked over by another pirate, this one with tattered captain's clothing and a green putrid looking beard. "Should we alert Emperor Blackbeard?" asked a subordinate, and Greenbeard shook his head. He instead reached into the dead man's clothes and took out a large gold coin. He pocketed it with his own. "He'll know. Right lads, it's onwards to the East Blue now! His territories are now mine, decacacacaca" he laughed and strode off.

Loguetown— Loni's Bar

"What do you think is up with all these 'beard' guys? I mean, first we had Whitebeard, now there's Blackbeard, there was even that one Brownbeard guy I think. Do you think there's room for a 'Great Pirate Nobeard'?"

"You might have to actually shave regularly before claiming that title for yourself, Oscar."

"Oh, sweetie, you're too cruel to me! You know that that would just be too too much work every morning!"

The woman behind the bar frowns at the unruly man who has dominated her corner seat from dusk to as near to dawn as he could for the last week. 'It's a shame he's such an ass,' she thinks, 'otherwise he might actually be kind of attractive.'

"Thinking of leaving yet? You can't have much left to you, way you've been drinking your cash away. Might have to hop a boat soon to get away from what ever creditors you're swindling to get those berries."

"Keep talking like that and I might start thinking you want to get rid of me, sugar," The man says before pouring another drink for himself. Maybe two.

"Hey, as long as you keep buying bottles, you're welcome to hang out. Just don't want to lose another door to over zealous marines if you don't run fast enough."

"Oh, like the marines are ever going to come looking for me. You may be right about one thing, though. Getting on a boat would be a good idea."

Loguetown

Hartley grimaced, as he left the Mercurian Rampager to go to Loguetown. How he had ended up two seas away from his home Blue, he had forgotten. All he knew was he needed allies. Rear Admiral Carana had almost killed him a few days ago. This 88,000,000 beli bounty was a pain. Every Marine and bounty hunter alive, even normal citizens, were gunning for him.

He walked into a bar, empty, as it was the afternoon. "Hey, bartender. I'll take a Subura Shot,"the comet man groaned.

"A what?"the elderly man raised an eyebrow.

Right. Subura had been erased completely worldwide. No one knew about it, and it officially never existed. He groaned again. "I'll just take a milk,"

"Three hundred beli,"

"That's ocean trail robbery!"Hartley fumed.

"I don't make the cost, kid,"the bartender glared.

Hartley almost spat at the man, but he refrained from such rudimentary procedures. "Fine. Have your damn money,"

He left moments later, wondering why he had even went to the bar. He wasn't thirsty. And now he only had about twenty thousand beli left. He looked at the bounty hunters on the side of a street, hanging on a wooden bulletin board.

18,000,000 Kuro of a Thousand Plans. Looked like his bounty was raised a few million. 3,000,000 Darasu the Demon Slayer. Creepy guy. All sorts of weird facepaint, too. 88,000,000 Shooting Star Hartley. Fuck. Marines already knew about him? At least it was the snapshot of him going into the sky with the Sekki Sekki no Mi. That looked pretty cool, he had to admit.

He left the bounty board as soon as he could. He had to find a crew. Maybe someone who knew about Subura. Anything to cease this loneliness-Stop. He was not some pitiful romance character. He was a proud academic of a fallen, disgraced nation. He had to act like it.

An astronomer's gathering. Eh, worth a shot.

He saw a short man, with curly brown hair ranting about the dangers of the rapidly approaching Z-Range Meteors. "These comets are going to devastate most of our islands! But do the Marines give a damn! No! These things are going to strike in a few days!"

Of course, his shot missed entirely. He thought about being polite and correcting the man, but all that came out was his typical fake, condescending attitude. "Actually, sir, the Z-Range Meteors are all the way over in the first half of the Grand Line right now. So, no, the East Blue is not in any way endangered. Stop trying to scare people and do your damn job. You're an astronomer, or at least you think you are. Act like it,"

He slammed the door behind him, ignoring the man's sputtering. His stomach let out a high rumble, and he facepalmed. Right, first hunger. Then, crew.

Ziiro opened the letter, embossed with official seals from Marine Headquarters.

Commodore Ziiro,

We are happy to inform you that due to his great strides in leadership in the New World, Vice Admiral Akauma the Red Horse of War will be transferring to Paradise, in order to quell the recent influx of pirate crews. In conjunction with the transfer of G5 and the focus of higher-level marines in solving the current Yonkou problem, we have decided that Akauma will be joining Vice Admirals Cancer, Stainless, Yamakaji, Bastille, and the Aias siblings and Jonathan in their stations on the first half of the Grand Line, to replace the retiring Vice Admiral Garp. As a Commodore operating in Paradise and one formerly serving Garp, you will now report any matters of import to Akauma.

Please meet Vice Admiral Akauma within the next month in order to set up coordinates, communications, and plans to his discretion. Your loyalty and judgment are appreciated as has your great years of service henceforth.

More marine foolishness and red tape, but something Ziiro would have to commit to memory nonetheless. He reached across his side to his chest of Eternal Poses and maps and took to calculating where the nearest Marine base would be. Technically, it was Loguetown, but rowing up Reverse Mountain would be far too time-consuming. Best to take the path of least resistance. Ziiro summoned a void and spun his boat to the West. Time to row to the next nearest island.

So I'm a writer...

Loguetown

I can't believe I am not there yet.The thought came from a man who was just looking down at a map. I knew I should of just ask for direction.

"You know you shouldn't just stand in the street." A voice surprise the man. The man turned to see an old man standing there."You slow down travel by just standing there," the old man continue.

The man with the map continue to stare."Sorry about that," the man answer, "but do you know where I can find a weapon shop that repairs guns and sells knifes."

"You a sailor or something? There is no reason for weapons in this town when the marines are here."The old man question back.

"You can say I'm a sailor. We pulled in for repairs and supplies. We had what you would say was a small run in with some pirates."The man answer back politely.

The old man looks at the man with the map face searching for a lie. "Hmp, the weapon shop you are looking for on the west side of the town. It should be cheaper there. It is called Matthew's Blacksmith. You can't miss it."The old man finally answer.

"Thanks old timer," the man replied back, "One more thing, my Captain is looking for some shipmates. Where should I start looking?"

"Try the bars first, but if you found nothing try the dock next. You should fine someone eventually."The old man walk past the man with the map.

Standing alone for a minute. The man look back down on the map in his hand. Heading to the west to look for the repair shop.

"Thank you for your kindness, ladies and gentlemen!" Remy said, bowing low before the small crowd of spectators. His hat was nearly full with coins and bills — today had been a particularly good day so far. "Just for that, I'll show you something extra-special," he grinned.

"During my travels, I happened to stumble on the legendary Dragon's Nest. The dragons there were very friendly, and in exchange for my pledge to keep their location secret, they imparted to me the secret of breathing fire!"

He took a swig from the flask in his hand. He'd originally been taught this trick with whiskey, but paraffin was much safer, even if it wasn't quite as pleasant to taste. As the crowd watched he snapped his fingers, spitting the fuel in a clear arc towards the ocean as he did so. The flint and steel he'd held in his fingers sparked together, igniting the paraffin into a strong jet of flame.

The crowd shouted in delight as Remy extinguished the flame. It was a simple trick, really, but people always enjoyed it. And happy people gave lots of money. "Thank you, thank you all!" he bowed again. "I hope to perform for you all again at a later time."

The performance over, the crowd began wandering off. Remy collected his hat, looking at the money within. It was small fry compared to the earnings he'd had when performing while on tour, but right now it was enough to pay for another day's food and lodging. Soon, though, he'd have to move on...

He put his hat back on and set off down the street towards his lodgings. It didn't take him long to notice he was being followed — two thuggish-looking men with probably only a single brain between them. Curious, he slowed his walk to allow them to catch up. There wasn't likely to be any trouble he couldn't handle, after all.

"Alright, magic man, hand over the money," one of them growled, grabbing him by the shoulder.

"Money?" Remy asked innocently. "I don't know what you mean." He considered going for his sword, but the last thing he wanted was to make a scene in the middle of town.

"Don't be stupid," the second man said, grabbing his hat. "We saw all that money in...your...hat?" He trailed off in confusion as he looked inside the empty hat.

"As you can see," Remy said, "You really must be mistaken. I'm just a poor street performer." He noticed someone familiar coming down the street and smiled slightly. This would be fun.

The first man growled and shook him. "Don't give us that! We know you've got money, and we—"

"Hello, Mister Masterson!" Remy said cheerfully, causing both men to jump. "It's very good to see you again! How is Miss Carol?"

The former Marine grinned widely. "She's doing just fine. Still talks about the show you did for her birthday." He looked at the two thugs. "You having some trouble?"

"No trouble," Remy said. "These fine gentlemen wanted directions to the execution platform. It's such a historic place, everyone's got to see it, you know?"

"Yes," Masterson gave the two men a measured look. "They do seem bound for the scaffold, I'll admit." He raised his arm and both thugs flinched. "You go straight down this street, turn left at the tavern on the end, and from there it's a straight shot to the platform." Neither man needed to be told twice, almost tripping over themselves in the rush to get past the famous bounty hunter. Remy smiled — perhaps they had some brains after all.

"Glad I found you, by the way," Masterson said casually. Something in his tone caused Remy to tense. "I got a new bounty poster this morning. Not a government bounty, this one, but it offered a pretty big reward. Required the target alive, but didn't say what he'd done. I thought it was pretty strange, myself."

"I see," Remy said neutrally, weighing his options. Daddy Masterson was a legend with pistols, but if he was fast, perhaps he could throw Masterson off balance and disappear.

And perhaps pigs could fly, too. "I...wish you luck, then. I'm sure Carol will get several new dresses out of it."

"Oh, I'm not planning to take on this hunt," Masterson said. Remy blinked. "See, I found the issuer's name at the bottom of the bounty, and, well, I just can't work for a Gambino. They're scum, the lot of them."

"I applaud your stance on the matter," Remy murmured. "But why—"

"I thought you'd be interested," Daddy Masterson shrugged. He turned to walk away. "I'll be seeing you around, Remy Le Grande."

Remy watched him go, a small shiver running down his spine. Yes, it's time to be leaving town, he thought. He changed his course, heading towards the nearest tavern. If he was lucky, he'd find a crew that needed a capable carpenter or swordsman. Oh well, he thought, glancing down at the wallets he'd stolen from those two thugs, at least money won't be much of an issue.

Howard P. Carter, former expert of archeology and excavation of ancient ruins, now a dangerous lunatic on the run from the World Government, arrived at Loguetown one day in search of alleged thief of his beloved collection of antique lawn gnomes. His bounty was quite high, as he already wrecked many Marine outposts, hellbent on revenge. Sadly, none of his gnomes had been retrieved back. Howard was tall and well build man in his late twenties, wearing khaki pants and unbuttoned Hawaii shirt. To his belt a bottle of fine quality wine was strapped. He possessed no weapons. Technically unarmed, he still was a threat to anything that dare cross him.

"Here is that famous Marine base that guards East Blue's passage to Grand Line. I come, my dear gnomes! Those property stealing tax robbers will pay for that slight!" declared the man loudly, not bothering to conceal his presence. He proabably thought that none of local Marines, bar their leader, could be a challenge to someone whose bounty is in sixty millions.

East Blue.

Marine Captain Tropical came to floating on some driftwood roped together into a raft. The surviving marines were busy paddling with broken oars to get their raft further away. "What happened" said the Captain, shaking his head groggily. "We got attacked, sir. By some pirate calling himself Greenbeard" replied a marine sadly. Yes, Greenbeard. Tropical remembered now. With just a wave of his hand the entire boat seemed to become infested by maggots and start falling to pieces. Even the driftwood for the raft, chosen because of it's quality when compared, still looked unpleasant. "Did anyone save the Den Den Mushi?" he groaned, rubbing his head. Falling into the ocean always gave him a headache.

"Yes sir, but we thought we should wait until you were awake" replied a second marine. Tropical sat up, and held out a hand. "I must tell Headquarters about this. What's the nearest port town?"

"Loguetown, sir."

"Blech! This flying fish tastes like shit!"Hartley spat. Oh well. For only fifty beri, it wasn't that bad. Still, he needed a crew.

"Hey, you look awful familiar," a sneering voice came from behind of the cometman. He turned around, and saw two muscular men, much bigger than him, one wielding a longsword and the other a sledgehammer.

"88,000,000 beri, eh? We can get rich off of that,"chuckled the one with the hammer.

"Yes, you could,"Hartley grinned. "But you won't,"

Hartley jumped backwards, and pointed his left arm at the two of them. "Impact Left!"he shouted, as his comet powers shoved them both backwards brutally into a garbage heap. Their weapons were knocked out of their hands, lying useless on the ground.

He kept walking, and bumped into a shaggy haired man on his way. "Oh, sorry 'bout that,"Hartley apologized. He glanced at the stranger, and noted something about him.

"Are you a pirate?"

Loguetown— Loni's Bar

It was maybe an hour later when the hilariously overdressed man walked in. He took a look around and seemed to find what he saw good since he took a seat at one of the many empty tables arranged in front of the bar. He set his broad brimmed hat on it and began the process of counting coins from it into his pockets.

Oscar had stared when he had first walked in, but when he sat down he settled for keeping an eye on him in the bar’s impressively intact and clean mirror. Loni from the bar was prompt in getting him set up with a bottle of something Oscar didn’t know and a plate of nuts all without him losing track of his coins. He then settled into a pattern of eating, drinking, and counting that was something to behold by itself. After the fiftieth hundred berry coin moved from hat to pocket, Oscar decided that maybe he should get to know this guy.

“Well, that’s quite a haul! Loni, sweetheart, get me and my new friend another bottle of whatever this is he’s drinking and me a new glass!”

He turn to a man that had shoulder-length brown hair, but the surprise came as too blue eyes stare back at him. I should apologize and go I still have stuff to do, man thought to himself.

"Are you a pirate?"The blue eyed man ask. A silent pass between the two.

There is only two types of people that ask that kind question a Marine or another pirate, the man with the map thought. "Do I look like one? I'm just a simple sailor part of a simple crew. Although do you know where Matthew's Blacksmith is?"

"Excellent! By the way, my bounty is 88,000,000. Pissing off the Celestial Nobles and the World Government is never a good thing, just so you know,"

Hartley pushed his knees downward, and thrusted himself upward, propelling himself towards the air. "Comet Trajectory!"he roared, and with the speed of a comet, traversed Loguetown in its entirety in about thirteen seconds.

When he arrived back, he collapsed, panting. "Hah...Kue- Due east, down that road. Gimme a minute, I'll take you there-ugh,"

Despite his incredibly powerful Devil Fruit, he was still very physically weak, almost incapable of doing something that vast. As long as it impressed this stranger, he was good. He staggered, trying his best to stand up. Wouldn't look good if he was collapsing in front of his new crewmate, after all.

Remy looked up, smiling at the big man who'd been sitting in the corner seat until just now. Remy had noticed him as soon as he entered the bar — most of the bar's patrons were city folk, but not this man. No, this one looked like a fairly seasoned traveler, which had Remy curious. Travelers didn't stay often in Loguetown.

"It's quite a bit of money, yes," he agreed. "Not enough, I think, to get me where I'm going, but enough to book passage on a ship that'll take me closer." He glanced at his new companion. "I'm Remy, by the way."

Wow, He is a Logia type. That is not common fruit. I got to say I pretty impress, Alexander thought little out loud. Suddenly as it disappear the ball return. Turning back to the blue eyed man. He was slightly paler than before.

The shop-keeper looked exasperated as a nearly endless flow of words poured from the strange customer's mouth. He had entered looking for more charcoal, and after the shop-keeper had asked the man his job out of sheer courtesy, the man had gone off on a massive speech about devil fruits and the different types and how he believed that the environment affects the type of fruit created, complete with sketches and diagrams.

Henry paused to take a breath before continuing, "Shortly after I managed to stumble across a man with a Spec Spec fruit, and you know when you squint and look at something in the distance it looks like you could crush it with your fingers? Well, this guy had the power to actually do that, but he was a pretty weak guy so you'd usually only feel a mild discomfort when he did it, like someone hugging you a bit too tightly. But the whole idea of a fruit affected by the user's point of view is still an interesting concept makes you wonder how many others-"

The shop-keeper had had enough. Shoving the bundle of charcoal at Henry he said, "Hey kid, I heard that there were a few devil fruit users in town at the moment, why don't you run along and check them out?"

The shop-keeper didn't actually know if that was true, but he'd had enough and wasn't going to waste anymore time. Luckily the custome fell for it. "Really? Do you know where they are? They're not pirates are they?"

The shop-keeper just shrugged, "Heard they were towards the centre of town."

The strangely-dressed customer paid for the charcoal before heading for the door. "Thanks for the tip sir!"

After he had left, the shop-keeper breathed a sigh of relief.

Henry adjusted his satchel outside the shop door, his charcoal safely stored inside. And with a few friendly waves and greetings to passers-by, made his way towards the centre of town.

But maybe we should hear what the rest of the crew have to say" Itsuki replied. Wherever they are. Itsuki couldn't help but feel slightly concerned. He had faith in his crew mates, but splitting up may not have been the best idea. There were bounty hunters and marines here in Loguetown, and Itsuki had overheard something about violence in the Kuzan Avenue.

Alexander's bounty is just short of mine he though. I really hope he doesn't do anything to draw attention to himself.

Though will all the thugs and rogues here, he'd have to do something really conspicuous to manage that.

After a short wait. The blue eyed man got up.The color had return to his face. "Alright. Grab on. I'll take you there," he offered.

Alexander flinch at the thought. See this the man promise, "I'll go slow this time. A leisurely, three minute flyby and dropoff."

I hope will not be too bad, Alexander sigh in his mind. The man continue with a small smile, "Well, I guess I can't blame you. I probably looked like shit after that trip around Loguetown." He pause for a second and then added, "By the way, there's a hell of a fight going on at Kuzan Avenue. Seriously. I think that Marine decapitated some of those pirates."

Surprise flashed through Alexander. Why are Marines going on a Pirate hunting spree? I got to tell Captain after this. "We should head out then. After all you said that I look like Pirate and I would not like to fight some Marines at the moment. After we are done lets go find my Captain. You want to join right," Alexander finally said.

Hartley Hale Bopp

Alexander looked rather surprised at the mention of the pirate/Marine conflict, but regained a cool composure after that. "We should head out then. After all you said that I look like a pirate and I wouldn't like to fight some Marines at the moment. After we're done let's go find my Captain. You want to join right?"the pirate asked.

Hartley grinned sideways. "Alright. I'll do my best to go leisurely,"he told Alex cheerfully.

Alexander grabbed his shoulder, and Hartley flew upwards, only going about a twentieth of the speed he was before. Using the rooftops as bouncing surfaces for an easier travel, they made it at the blacksmith in no time.

"Was that so bad?"Hartley asked the pirate, who did appear slightly woozy to him. "Oh yeah, sorry, guess that was two minutes, not three,"

"North Wind. Could be good. I-did I just hear someone get thrown into a bunch of garbage?' asked Max curiously, and then heard the woosh of Hartley using his powers again. What the Hell was going on in this town? He threw his pen into the air and it transformed into his black panther pen, Koya, who growled warningly. "Go find Alexander and the others. Tell them to regroup" he ordered, and sent his panther out. At the same time, the small den den mushi he carried rang, and he too kit out to rest it on the desk.

He put it down. "OK, let's Christen the ship another day. I think we should leave tomorrow if possible" replied Max urgently after receiving the news. In the meantime, his panther had just found Alexander when the crewmember had blasted off. With a growl of frustration, she grew wings and flew after them irritably. It would take a few moments.

Henry had being going from person to person for several minutes looking for any mentioning of devil fruit users, but was always met with the same answers of no and sorry. He was beginning to think the shop-keeper was just trying to get rid of him.

Close to giving up, Henry finally got at least something. A random citizen had told him that maybe he should check out the bars on the other side of town, since pirates usually hung around there and the chances of finding a devil fruit user were higher. Henry didn't want to have to deal with pirates, he'd had enough of them in his travels already, but sacrifices had to be made if he was to achieve his dream.

Arriving on the opposite side of town, Henry made his way towards the first bar he could spot. Entering it, Henry glanced around and his instincts kicked in and he grew tense. He could feel something, and he was sure it was pirates. Heading towards the bar, his eyes flicking back and forth, he approached the owner of the bar, a woman, and struck up a conversation. "Greetings, I'm been told that his bar may currently contain, people with unusual powers. Do you know where I might find them?"

While he was saying this, Henry kept his ears open for any movements or sounds behind him.

"Anyway, I'm Oscar and if you're looking for a ship, why you might just have lucked into your new best friend!"

Remy grinned again, slightly amused at being labeled a "North Blue boy". Not that he'd correct Oscar at this point in time. That might come later, when he found out what Oscar was like when he wasn't trying to hustle people. He liked the man, all the same. A rough and tumble sort, perhaps, but then, Remy was a bit of a scoundrel himself.

And if another bounty hunter who wasn't as principled as Daddy Masterson showed up, Oscar could serve as a useful distraction. A magician always needed assistants, after all.

"A man in my profession can't have too many friends," he said lightly. Then he stood, picking up the bottle in one hand and his hat in the other. "As it stands, I'm in a hurry and I wouldn't begrudge your help." He put a few of the larger denomination coins on the table. "I'll pay you a generous finder's fee if you can find me a ship that suits my needs. And as we walk, you can tell me why I'm so lucky to know you."
