Hey my small theory that Eren was still getting to enact whatever his plan is because he was decapitated was still kinda right. Yay.

I am not surprised that Eren was not for the Euthansia plan although this is a different direction then what I expected.

I personally really liked the chapter. While Zeke did pull one over on Eren it seems like Zeke is getting more than he bargained for with seeing how Grisha actually treated Eren and Grisha somehow seeing Zeke (darn PAT Hs) and apologizing to him.

Also, its very obvious that old Eren is back. We still don't know what Eren's plan is but this chapter did just reveal that Eren's stoic and alienating attitude is a facade considering how he is acting more like himself during the chapter.

I'm thinking Zeke is bullshitting about being in control. If he really spent so long waiting for Eren, it's likely he would have figured out a way to look into the memories himself and not be so surprised when they roll up. He's just using what he's learned about controlling the Founder's Power to try and sway Eren before he calls his bluff (which he seems to have done at the end of the chapter). Being free of the Fritz family line is one thing, but maybe being the Attack Titan protects Eren from being full-on brainwashed?

I'm also starting to think that the reason as to why Ymir Fritz made a literal deal with the devil is going to become instrumental in breaking Zeke completely, and is something we might see in a chapter or two. I would not be surprised if The Last Panel depicts Ymir as a baby and her father (who looks suspiciously like Eren to throw everyone off and become the main focus of the page), after Eren does some kind of cosmic retcon to remove the Titan Curse but not the Eldians themselves.

Did Eren look super feminine in this chap to anyone else?

You know I always thought that Dina and Zeke were immune to the Will of the First King because they're not direct descendants of Karl or members of the Reiss family.

I hope they don't pull an Obito and have Zeke see the error of his ways even after a lifetime of believing the worst.

[up] Yeah, but it's always been like that. It's just Isayama's art style in effect: If you don't have facial hair or lines on your mug, your gender's up in the air.

[up][up][up]He's only doing the memory thing because of Eren, though. Him being surprised by them doesn't really mean anything, because he didn't care to look before (probably).

[up][up][up]Eren seems to gotten most of his looks from his mom and him wearing his longer hairstyle down this chapter makes him look more feminine, at the very least androgynous.

[up][up][up] Another option could be Zeke doubles down on his plans because, per Sunk Cost Fallacy, he's come too far to simply stop.

Bullshit he has. How many heads have you lost Zeke? Because that's when you've come too damn far, and Eren's farther over that cliff than you are.

I mean, both have committed unforgivable crimes at this point, so I wouldn't mind if Sieg was won over by Eren somehow. But that wouldn't make for a very exciting climax…

I still have no idea how Annie, Historia or Hange/Levi are gonna play into it for that matter.

I am going back to scratching my head over the vague "Guardians of the Galaxy" conclusion that Isayama mentioned. Other people manage to enter the PATHS and foil Zeke's plan together? Yeager Bros wielding the Founding Titan together for greater good?

Not sure what element from that movie gave Isayama inspiration. Maybe a dance battle? wild mass guess

Eren goes off and has wacky adventures in space with the other Titan-shifters?

Annie enters the paths somehow and nut punches Zeke, causing it to be felt by all his ancestors.cool

I mean, how often do you get a chance to literally hit someone so hard even their grandmother feels it?[lol]

[up][up][up] You joke, but it's been found out that one of the cuts from before Eren enters the Paths is from the High School AU, complete with Mikasa's goth hairdo. At this point, all bets are probably off.

Well, this was interesting. It appears the final conflict between Eren and Zeke will be psychological rather than physical. Can't wait to see what the ending has in store for us...

I also wonder how much time has passed in the real world… It's true that you stay alive for a few seconds when decapitated, but not much longer…

Well, Ymir Fritz should've died hundreds/thousands of years ago, yet there she is. Maybe time and death become meaningless once you can properly navigate and influence the PATHS?

Yeah, I think the Paths are established to be completely outside of normal time. That's how we get wacky Timey-Wimey Ball nonsense like Kruger talking about Mikasa and Armin, or half-awake Grisha seeing his adult sons.

The Paths are completely exempt from the logic of physics, time, space, and reason. So I wouldn't be surprised if the entire Yeager Bros adventures in the Paths and its eventual conclusion happens within an instant from the perception of everyone else. To them, Eren's head get shot off and Zeke catches that pitch. And then......whatever is eventually decided happens, leaving everyone to go ????

@Lyendith A decapitated person remains conscious for about 13 seconds (determined by studies on cardiac arrest and blackouts from g-forces, as the phenomena are essentially the same: abrupt cessation of the flow of oxygenated blood to the brain). Severe brain damage sets in after about 5 minutes, and the brain is completely destroyed in about 10 minutes.

....so are you saying that if we had the technology to completely re-attach the head, in less than five minutes, you could theoretically save someone's life with no brain damage?

This might finally explain what those weird dream panels at the very start of the manga and anime were about. We'll finally get an answer to why Eren was crying when Mikasa woke him up.

[up] I wonder how much Isayama had the plot planned out back then. I'm kinda expecting a Gurren Lagann thing where the flash forward at the very start had nothing to do with the actual endgame except for some similar designs.
