For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B to Z, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

What is it with dubbed Italian movies and bringing in time travel at the last moment.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerI want that avatar, yes.
Also, I'm probably gonna be taking tonight off. I'm gonna be going ballistic tonight while I continue to go without heat and electricity and while it fucking SNOWS.
When the people shall have nothing more to eat, they will Eat the Rich.
When Sean Murray shall have little to keep himself warm, he will set his power company's real estate on fire.
God man, that's really fucked up. Is the company really tied down or is there just a ton of red tape? Needless to say, I feel badly for you. Hopefully things will right themselves soon.
War is God.I might not be able to make it tonight; I need to be up early in the morning.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerThey just weren't prepared for last week. Not prepared at all. And this is after they had planned to improve their storm response procedures following a similar but lesser storm from over a year ago (but clearly didn't). There just aren't any excuses for their actions. They've failed at every turn from relaying information to anyone still without power, communicating with local officials and authorities, prioritizing more serious issues, like replacing snapped telephone poles, and even following their own projected schedules. They lack any and all credibility now.

What would be a good idea would be to write a complaint to your local or state legislature about this. Although, you may have filed many complaints to many people about this, or you are not able to. But maybe once it all blows over, you could try and get justice for this.
War is God.By the way folks, I found tonight's film. It's one of the films that MST 3 K reviewed apparently. It's called The Touch of Satan and it was made in 1971. Here's a trailer:
... That movie literally bored me to sleep.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987So, I discovered that David Cronenberg's first film, Shivers, is available in its entirety on youtube here. The only problem is that it's behind an age restriction wall thingy. I have no idea how that interacts with synchtube stuff. If that's a problem, I could probably hunt it down at one of the other video sites.
Oh yeah, here's a trailer:
I saw this film a while ago. It's rather campy, and exploitation film-ish (I'm just making up words now), and it's pretty much the kind of thing that would be great for our sessions.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes. We can watch that sometime... but I found something that'd probably top it. It's called Driller Killer and.... well... the title says it all. The Cinema Snob reviewed it himself, so this should be um... interesting.
Here's a trailer:
FOREWARNING: Apparently the movie is pretty graphic, so keep that in mind for those who are squeamish.

War is God.Wow. That looks like a thing. You know. One of those things.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Yeah, can't join in. Class.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987You lucked out Nom. That film was terrible. And the pain didn't go away with the closing credits. However, it did give us the term "badcore."
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes....what was I watching last night? I woke up this morning feeling incredible irritated.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerGot in touch with my power company last night. Their current projection for restoration in my area is this coming Tuesday by 11:00 PM (which is exactly what they said before this past Tuesday [annoyed grunt]).
Also, my sister's Internet has been out since the recent snowstorm. And I don't feel like starting that coven glossary right now on my iPhone.

Damn man... that really sucks. I'd bet you are fucking PISSED. Hopefully heads will roll.
But in terms of our movie tonight, since we watch martial arts stuff on Fridays, we'll be watching a "Brucesploitation" film by the name of "The Unicorn Palm" AKA "Bruce Lee and I" AKA "The Unicorn Fist". Here's a trailer:
If anyone really wants to get a better idea of what I and quite a lot of other people are dealing with here, just try googling news stories for "LIPA" or "Michael Hervey" (and maybe append "New York" or "Long Island", depending on where in the world you are, and the more recent the story is, the better ). Village Voice have a particularly fun article to read today. Believe me, it's never a matter of if heads will roll, only when.
In lighter news, though, I got an invite to a local performance of The Evil Dead: The Musical. I haven't even heard of such a production since 2005. At least that should promise me a well needed bit of mind numbing.

... Seriously? You never heard of that before? 0_o
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I said I had. I meant to say that didn't know it was still a thing.
Any film called Unicorn Fist has to be hilarious.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerThat's why I picked it.
War is God.Shame abut how last night turned. Still; Spider sex jokes.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerSpider sex jokes?
One to make the people at Gainax jealous.
