Pedophiles who are looking to cure/manage their pedophilia are a very different problem than pedophiles who are still active predators.

When the root cause was a bunch of adults giving each other time stamps in the comment of childrens videos to where they thought the kids looked enticing... We were clearly not dealing with #1

Most pedos I have seen on the internet are not looking for help, that much is quite obvious.

And yeah I can agree that the way some of those channels use the children as just money making machines is pretty shitty. I also recall one of them got in trouble a bit ago for possible molestation?

So while I can watch videos fine on the main youtube site, if videos are embedded on other sites the 500 Internal Service Error shows up where the video would be. This happening to anyone else?

Wispy Since: Feb, 2017

Not happening to me, I think?

Edit: Nevermind, looks like embeds are broken.

So, seriously.

Why do we hear a song in a trailer on Youtube then within minutes of watching that trailer and finding out what song it is go the comment section to talk about how it was just used in a movie.

I dunno why but that can be very annoying sometimes although mostly harmless.

Although admittedly its not just movies. Some popular youtubers or old montage makers/fan music video makers would also inadvertently send their fans to new music.

And now some really shitty news, a white guy shot up two mosques in New Zealand with multiple fatalities.

The reason I'm bringing this up here? The guy posted his manifesto on 8ch prior to the shooting and noted pewdiepie as one of his inspirations. And right before he started shooting and livestreaming it, yes, no joke (please don't go looking for it), quoted the "subscribe to pewdiepie" meme.

Now pewdiepie is trying to distance himself from the shooter.

Welp, my opinion for Pewdiepie just reached Mariana Trench levels of low.

Condolences to the families and victims.

Wanna bet """pewds""" will start making videos playing the victim card about how "the media is out to get him" when reporters start reporting (aka doing their fucking job) on this story?

Wispy Since: Feb, 2017
#3260: Mar 14th 2019 at 11:45:43 PM

Hes already doing that pretty much. He made a tweet where all of his fans and other youtubers are shilling for him pretty much and comforting him over what happened.

No condolences given to the victims or anything. Only sympathy for him. My faith in humanity is pretty much gone by this point. Alt-righters are also trying to call this a false flag despite the fact that the video was livestreamed and you can still find it in some places.

Hell disturbingly enough people are posting it on youtube right now with misleading thumbnails and names.

To be fair, even if you hate the youtuber, it does make sense that people who know him are offering condolences to him since some crazy person quoting you before going off to do something horrible IS horrible thing to happen to you tongue That said, I haven't been following up on pewdiepie, but I hear he has been offensive lately so I kinda think he was dugging his own grave there.

Either way, he should really introspect what about his behavior makes someone quote him as inspiration before going on murderous rampage(while fricking streaming it), trying to just distance yourself is escaping from personal responsibility :P

Also on side note, I really hate phrase "losing faith in humanity" :P I'm mostly pointing that out because its one of those phrases that makes me want to rant about concept each time someone brings it up, so I'm hoping by pointing that out I can get it out of my system without making wall of text about it

[up]Its his already abysmal track record and the fact he has been courting a lot of nasty people which has me very cynical about him in this situation.

I am just tired of all the terrorist attacks and nasty shit happening recently which is why I am using that phrase. I have been seeing more and more far right terrorist attacks happening in the past 3 years or so and they are always either being excused constantly or ignored within the next celebrity scandal.

Its frustrating and all around disheartening to see stuff like this continuing and to see that the internet seems to just have made things worse in some ways.

Yeah, that is why I try to avoid getting into rants about the phrase, I DO get why people use it.

Either way, it just disturbs me that there were apparently people cheering for the shooter to go on to do that :/ That is just beyond criminal or disturbed behavior

[up]I will take a wild guess and assume that most (if not all) of these cheering assholes are immature edgy misanthropes, who love pretentious crap (like "humans suck. We should exterminate them" or "We must kill people to save planet from overpopulation").

Can you really blame Pewdiepie for the actions of a nutjob? Sure, he is a huge influence in youtube and time and time again his actions have had horrible effects but this one i can't fault him.

For all we know, the shooter could have cited another youtuber as his inspiration and the controversy wouldn't be as high.

But he didn't. He explicitly cited Pewdiepie, and based on his repeated acts of bigotry, it is not unfair to put the blame on him.

Well i can't really do much to defend Pewdiepie, one because it's hard to excuse a few of his oopsies, second because this thread is very dead set on hating Pewdiepie for everything so defending him is futile.

But i will say that is not fair to blame him for this. He never explicitly promotes bigotry and hate, it's usually brought up in his blunders but rarely in his regular boring content. Don't use him as a scapegoat for the actions of a horrible person.

Can't wait for some idiot to come to this thread again and explain to us how the whole "Subscribe to PDP" thing isn't a rally cry for racist little shits but it's about "opposing corporate You Tube".

He never explicitly promotes bigotry and hate

Sort of like how all those already right speakers never promote racism it's all about "white identity" and "concerns over spiralling crime rates" and "freedom of speech".

PDP made himself into a darling of those human scum by his use of constant slurs and racist jokes and made 0 effort to distance himself from them, quite the opposite. Do he can damn well take part of the blame.

It's not like the guy has been part of corporate structures for years or anything.

I think blaming him's unfair since, like, for all the shit he pulls I doubt he'd want anything to do with an actual mass shooting. You don't exactly blame dogs for getting fleas or anything.

It does say something about the kind of audience he's cultivated that someone like this would so openly be in his crowd, though. And, uh, his tweet should've been worded differently since it puts the focus on himself first.

Fasoman, the guy outright stated he at least partially inspired him to do this. That's something you say when you're first starting some gaming channel on youtube, but this guy shot up a fucking mosque. The fact that you still refuse to hold him accountable, despite all of the bullshit he's done in the past - from using the word nigger in "frustration", to making so-called jokes about killing Jews - despite the fact that he's a right-wing apologist at best, despite the fact the shooter fucking name-dropped him, and the fact that you paint this thread's criticism of all this "hating Pewdiepie for everything", just shows me that you are clearly part of the Pewdiepie Defense Force, and nothing I or anyone else says - not even Pewdiepie himself - can sway you. At this point, you believe he is not at fault because you don't want him to be. And there's nothing I can do about that. So I'm not going to waste my time anymore.

You don't exactly blame dogs for getting fleas or anything.

...how is that even remotely-

I went on to counteract my own analogy in the next paragraph talking about cultuvated audiences, whoops. My bad.

Point was that this is the kind of people he attracts more than he creates, though. If that makes sense.

Certainly can blame him. Sure, he doesn't create racists, but his behavior normalises it, and he serves as a convenient rallying point for it. It's not like he's accidentally attracting racists and there's nothing he can do to shake them off.

Plus you get Pinheads like Boogie 2988 posting about how it must feel terrible for PDP all that happens. Coz ya know, he's the real victim here.
