Trope Overdosed in need of reclassification?

Not sure about whether to bring this to the repair shop, so I'll just take it here. I did see a recent topic brought up in the page's discussion about the possibility of introducing a new category^note and yes, I am aware that the note at the bottom frowns upon introducing one, or even increasing the wick threshold of the existing categories to reduce page crowding. Maybe both.

Personally, I could go with perhaps increasing the threshold from 1000-2000-4000 to 1500-3000-6000. If there is to be a new category, which I could go either way in this regard, I could go up to 9000 for huge franchises such as Star Wars.

So any thoughts here?

I'd much rather avoid memetic references, but feel 9000 would be a good threshold for a possible fourth category if there is to be one (but yes, no "Over Nine Thousand" for that label).

Yeah... given the sequence^note 1500-3000-6000 is what I proposed, thus 9000 the number made sense to me, but you may be right on this point. 10000 then? Just gotta have a name for a new category (if there is going to be one)... "Overcharged" between Overloaded and Saturated?

Actually, come to think it would. I did count seven works qualifying for that though. Then again, it seems all too apparent that 4000 is just too small a number to call something "saturated", especially if non-trope wicks are in the mix.

Overcharged in the middle there seems kind of weird to me. I wouldn't be able to guess that it comes between "overloaded" and "saturated" without looking at the page. Maybe add a new category to the end instead? So it would be something like,
Overdosed, Overloaded, Saturated, Pure Unrefined Trope

Created a crowner for possible actions, although I'm not sure that this is the subforum to do so...

Also, any new ideas are welcome.

What would it look like if we kept the current intervals but added a new category, so it went 1000-2000-4000-8000?

(This is not to say I oppose either of the current options, but I'm just throwing it out there.)

Instead of Overcharged, how about call that category Smothered?

Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.

"Overcharged" is just a working title, so Smothered may also be a good suggestion.

EDIT: By the looks of it, keeping the page as is is out of the question.

I'd say when Sandbox #3 has 10-12 votes, if it is clear which alternative wins by then. If not, I don't know. Maybe make a new crowner in a new thread to decide which one of those two is the most fitting?

I say go with Smothered. And I think it's fairly apparent that Sandbox #1 is the most popular suggestion, so we could probably go ahead and implement it.
