So...they added a button that automatically puts your HP, MP, and gil at maximum?

...Uh?

^^I suppose its like that thing in Super Mario Bros where you can skip level with having game playing it through tongue Good for people who like jrpgs but find games too frustrating I suppose

Teehee, Cloud saves.

I wonder if it's a good port. I played the PC port of FF 8 back in the day and it was a mess. Japanese developers always seem to slip up when it comes to porting their console games to PC.

But seriously? A button that puts everything at maximum? I'm reminded of that one game that let you just skip to the next chapter. What's even the point of playing the game if you use that?

Anyway, I'm strangely interested in the characters' blood types. Why am I not surprised that Aerith is Type O? (universal donor)

edit: "It's not even certain that "Red XIII" is his real name"? Of course it's not. That's one of the first things he says to you.

Huh. Aerith was born at the Icicle Lodge...I guess because it's close to the Forgotten City?

Also, it refers to her as Aerith. Well, just making it so her default name is Aerith instead of Aeris wouldn't be too hard. I wonder if this'll be using the apparently improved translation that VII's original PC version had.

The original PC version still called her Aeris. I hope that it's an all-new translation.

Also, I appreciate it getting a re-release, but don't see why they're making such a big deal out of it having a cheat button when no one ever really complained about the difficulty in the first place...

Somehow you know that the time is right.

[up]Yeah, I knew that the original PC translation still had her as Aeris (I believe the first Kingdom Hearts was the first thing to call her Aerith?), but if you can still rename the characters, simply changing it so the default is Aerith instead of Aeris wouldn't require a different translation.

Although a new translation would be nice...

Still using the Lego-proportioned character models, I see.

Well, they have said time and again that they're not making a remake, so I don't know why anyone would expect them to change the character models.

Besides, Lego figures look way better than VII's character models!

Only on PC? BOOOOOOOOOOO! I'm still getting it but Boooooooooooo! After I beat the version on PS 3, lol. So, I'm going for the Perfect Run as my first run of the game ever. Well second, never finished the first one because I didn't own the game, but still.

I wanna know what achievements it'll have. I spent quite a lot of time the other day thinking up what achievements/trophies a hypothetical FFVII remake might have...

So wait, aside from the Achievements, what's the point of buying this? It's been available on PC before, and it's currently available on PS 3. Are there any kind of improvements to the game at all?

I would adore it if they put an unattainable achievement in the game for reviving you-know-who.

Or an achievement with a name that suggests such an action, like "the flowers bloom again" or something, that turns out to have a completely different (but still related to the title) requirement.

Who cares?

Don't get me wrong. I loved 7, but what's the goddamn point of putting it out on PC again with the same now highly dated graphics. If I wanted to play it again, I'd just use an emulator.

If they just took the basic time to give it a graphical touch up, they could have gotten tons of people to buy the game a second time.

I would buy it, but I have it on my PSP. All I need is to buy a new Memory Stick so I can actually complete the download.

The original PC ports of the PSX F Fs were awful, and require multiple workarounds to function on modern computers. Aside from the fact that it's a way of printing money for near-zero effort, this will provide versions which can function. Although it is kind of redundant given the presence of emulators...

Huh. Aerith was born at the Icicle Lodge...I guess because it's close to the Forgotten City?

...because that's where she was born. Even in the original game we got a series of flashbacks about her parents in the form of her father (the doctor guy) recording his interviews with her mother. She was born at some point between recordings. This isn't new information.

Of course, I guess you could also ask why they were living in Icicle Lodge, but that's somehow less interesting than you're making it sound.
