This is a huge surprise considering recently retired president Mike Lazzo made it his personal mission to ensure Metalocalypse stayed canceled and flat out refused offers from Brendon Small to buy the license outright because he wanted it to stay dead.

Side note: I'm more for Venture Bros. (Holy Shitballs there), but Metalocalypse had a super dedicated fanbase. I only ever listened to one of their songs but...I didn't hate it?

I'm a big fan of both, and mentioned Metalocalypse a couple times when the Venture Bros got its own abrupt cancellation last year. It's nice to get them both back.

I could barely make out "could this be the end" in the song, but to hell with it, that song slapped so hard that I can't feel both sides of my face. It was fire if someone tossed oil and gasoline into a fireplace and then farted at the fireplace.
Seriously, what was Mike Lazzo's problem with the show? Did he have a date who dumped him for a heavy metal band member? Because again, the soundtrack slaps harder than Marshall Eriksen slapping Barney Stinson.

He wanted a full season. Brendan small just wanted to do another movie or mini series to finish it. It got heated and lazzo decided never ever. He had a shredder set below a fax machine for people who faxed in to save the show
During an AMA he said the show got too plot heavy and that bothered him.

Though Venture Bros got canceled after Laszzo left and it's the new guy's fault it got axed.

If it's released next year, that will be the 20 year anniversary of the show. It's crazy to think it was that old. The DCAU('s main continuity of TV shows) was still going on back then!

It will also be the ten year anniversary of the Doomstar Requiem. As much as I do want to see the movie as soon as possible, gunning for the release date of Doomstar would be pretty awesome if they did that.
Also, the most recent update we have is Brendon Small himself tweeting "we're still working on it" just last month.

Anyone ever count how many Adult Swim original shows you liked that got cancelled? I'm at seven.
Seems like if I like an Adult Swim show, it's more likely to be cancelled than to reach an intended ending.
