I disagree. That was definitely necessary to set up the punchline, and the ironic conflict that the person he falls for while trying to get the Heir Club for Men heat off of his gay sister is in fact a guy, and now he needs to try to unlearn that whole epiphany about love to complete his goal of continuing the family line.
The punchline just isn't funny enough to warrant that long of a set up. I just feel like that part was a dip in quality when you compare it to the rest of the chapter.
E.T technically is a Isekai movieEh, if they don't establish the importance of love to him early we'd just be spending the rest of the series asking why he isn't going for an arranged marriage or attracting a gold digger, so I see it as a necessary premise thing.
Well, the second chapter just went into stereotypical romcom plot. So I guess that's what this is now?
The immediately obvious change is how it portrays Matsuri and Suzu as a couple. Up to this point, there was just enough wiggle room to think Suzu was attracted to Matsuri because she still sees him as a guy, even though he's not just female-bodied but quite femme-presenting. Now she's getting hot and bothered by Matsuri's cleavage and girly squealing. And the new color page and series thumbnail have them Almost Kissing. (They even made the thumbnail for the first chapter a much later color page where Suzu and girl Matsuri are lying down together. Hmm...)
Speaking of queer representation, I'm cautiously interested in Marriagetoxin. Mei's a fun character, even with the stereotypical lack of self-awareness. The series is funniest when carried by the visual—the whole scene with the bug-user was great. The text density is excessive, which isn't helped by the incredibly plain translation.
Just read the first two chapters of Marriagetoxin and i'm enjoying it so far.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Read the first chap too. It’s… not like anything I expected, that’s for sure. >.> And probably the most respectful treatment of a gay character I’ve seen in a shonen since Blue Flag.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Chapter 2, still a very enjoyable ride… Gero × Kinosaki could make for a cool and funny romance, but if he’s supposed to "produce an heir for the family line", that won’t help much.
By the way, did I mention that the art was absolutely gorgeous?
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Marriagetoxin is pretty fun so far.
I heard that Black Clover is gearing up for its final arc? Man, they really are cleaning house, huh? Even Mashle is now entering its final arc. I'm sure BC's final arc will last a good while itself, but now the clock really starts ticking on getting new mainstays. I'm guessing Jujutsu Kaisen won't last all that much longer either in the "greater picture".
For good or ill, it's gonna be a new era of Jump. I'd say we're currently in an era of its own that started in 2016-ish and probably will end with either BC or MHA, depending on how long the former lasts.

-sigh- Lost passwords...Jujutsu already finished one of it’s three main antagonists but is barely started on the second one yet, so I feel like we haven’t seen half of it yet.
Jawshua is something I never knew I wanted.

-sigh- Lost passwords...Super Smartphone has way more of a concept than the blurb made it sound. (The phone "searching anything" means "can locate or read anything a person put information on, even it's sitting around in a gutter".) Maybe my standards are skewed, but I appreciate a first chapter that's primarily "Here is a formula for episodic stories, but also some plot threads to string them along".
Q really got conclusive evidence the Roswell Incident involved aliens, and completely forgets about it seconds later.
I just hope his nickname being Q is just a coincidence and not a weird Qanon reference. Given the subject matter, that is where my mind ends up wandering, but I’m probably just being paranoid.
I did actually like the first chapter, for the record.
Oh God! Natural light! It's short for "Question".
Yeah, I figured as much, it's just reminding me of it. Again, it's probably nothing.
Oh God! Natural light!Mariagetoxin chapter 3! Where Gero must now find princesses to save for his own befenit. No way this can go awry, of course.
For some reason I loved the "looking at the painting sideways" scene. It’s silly but kinda cute?
I wonder if we’re ever gonna see Kinosaki’s male version.

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Well, since they’re trying to hook up Gero with a girl, the training’s probably more effective if Gero has to interact with a "girl" constantly. Or maybe Kino’s just more comfortable that way.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Marriagetoxin 4 This is not going to end how Gero wants, and I’m guessing not going through his handler might have consequences.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Oh, so Gero does have a name other than "vomit". Well, he’s not gonna marry his first "princess" right away, that much is a given. I just wonder if the twist will be sad or hilarious this time.

I was finding MARRIAGETOXIN interesting until the mc spends 30 minutes talking about love and propose to the love interest. Like the momentum of the story got halted at that point. Plus the dialogue aren't very good in that part also not helping. The author could cut that part out or shorten it.
