IIRC the term "Caterpillar" was semi-recently coined for someone who inherits superhuman powers, but not via mutant X-gene, but I can't recall where this was first mentioned.

Well, they are letting normal humans on the island, but only if they have another mutant vouching for them.

They're pretty inconsistent about this, since some books say normal humans aren't welcomed on the island at all.

Well they are obviously gonna get retconned back into Mutants.

People have been saying this for years and it hasn't happened yet.

The Fantastic Four/X-Men book had Cyclops claim that the Xs definitely didn't take Franklin and Valeria because they didn't want Valeria on the island.

Presumably Franklin would vouch for Valeria if that was a possibility so, yeah, inconsistent.

Also, Sue got mad that Cyclops didn't want to kidnap both of her kids.

[up][up] Its gonna happen, only a matter of time.

Especially since the reason for the change in the first place is no longer applicable at this point.

It's almost an inevitability as this stage, as just as in this generation of comics we've had writers retcon things to go back to the status quos they grew up with, soon we'll be getting the next generation of writers who will retcon it back to the time they remember.

[up]×5

Right and the Juggernaut book has the "no humans" thing too, even though Cain on good terms with his brother. Black Tom Cassidy would probably invite him too.

[up]×4 The fox buyout happened awhile ago.

Comics are a slow-burn. We’ll get to it eventually when someone feels like it.

[up][up][up][up] Especially since there’s really not much reason given to prefer the characters current status quo. Especially Quicksilver, he’s just kinda in-between shit at the moment.

Pietro seems to have an issue that they don't want to use him for himself and is just seen as a package deal with Wanda.

At least Wanda’s got that witch legacy thing going on. Not exactly unique but ya know it’s something.

Pietro is just a jerky speedster.

Not even sure if he's been in anything since that Saladin Ahmed mini where he was trapped in the Speed Force.

Right and the Juggernaut book has the "no humans" thing too, even though Cain on good terms with his brother. Black Tom Cassidy would probably invite him too.

I thought he was back on bad terms with him.

Last I checked, he'd broke bad again, post World War Hulk, where he became a villain again to get back his full power to fight the World Breaker Hulk.

And then he was given one of those evil hammers during Fear Itself and became even more powerful (like they teleport him away, and he instantly teleports back to where he was before).

Not sure what went down with him after that, but the impression I got is he's not a good guy anymore.

So I guess there's a documentary on Disney+ about how comics are put together, and it uses a Dan Slott comic as an example. I haven't watched it, but I did read a thread about it. And uhhh . . . Dan Slott actually should be fired. He consistently misses deadlines, which is why Christos Gage co-writes so much of his stuff, and Slott's inability to keep ahead of deadlines also means the artists he works with get no time to do their work. Joe Caramagna mentioned having to letter an issue in two fucking days, which is absolutely unacceptable.

Slott's inability to keep to deadlines is downright disrespectful to every single person he works with, from the editor to the line artist to the inker to the colour artist to the letterer to the damn production people. The fact that he continues to get away with this shit (while also regularly being a toxic presence on Twitter) is just ridiculous.

It doesn't even matter whether or not he's a good writer, it doesn't matter if he has good ideas, the lack of professionalism he displays means he does not deserve to be working at Marvel. Comics are a collaborative medium, and Slott is demonstrably a garbage collaborator, by Marvel's own admission with that documentary. At best, take him off monthly comics and have him do OG Ns, where the release date can be set once it's finished. There are tons of immensely talented writers out there who actually respect their collaborators enough to stick to deadlines, give them precedence over the dude who leaves everyone constantly rushing to pick up his slack.

I really liked the Japanese Spider-Man episode. That's the first one.

I really wish Marvel or Toei would do something with it again.

I also liked how Stan Lee was cool with everything they did.

I feel like if they retroactively make casts more diverse Black Tom and Juggernaut should be canon as a couple.

Supidaman is apparently showing up in Spider Verse 2 with Toei’s blessing, so that’s something.
