Yeah, pretty much the same for me.

"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"What about Earth's Mightiest Heroes? That came long after Spectacular was canned. And it was awesome.
Thought the second season kinda took a hit, to be honest. Still pissed about them ending it in a cliffhanger.

Wake me up at your own risk.x2 I concur. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes was truly the last good Marvel cartoon to come out in years. The fact the show replacing it (ie Avengers Assemble) isn’t as fondly love for the writing, characters, art direction and humor really is a clear indicator as to how the quality of these cartoons have fallen.
I can't help but wonder if the fact Marvel Animation apparently is going into hibernation has something to do with the quality of these cartoons. I mean, could it be because they did do poorly and the writers finally realized this?
No objection from me for EMH. It was an amazing show which took elements of the MCU and comics while standing on its own merit. These cartoons are taking too much from the MCU, not caring about story or continuity, and just rehashing old story arcs we've seen already or was done better in other places.
Yeah, I noticed. I mean, they rehashed both the Ultron story arc and the Civil War twice. And then had the guts to mock EMH for using "old" story arcs such as the Kree Skrull war in an interview.
The irony there is that not only was EMH’s take on the Kree Skrull Wars actually combine elements from multiple comic storylines (Secret Invasion, Operation Galactic Storm, Galactus Trilogy) into one story arc but also manage to produce a season wide story arc which lived up to the hype that was set up from the first season and feels like the writers put a fuckton of work into it. Something Assemble barely could even do with their season specific names.
This show really suffered from trying to follow the movies, basically being forced to retcon things or having a lot happening offscreen.
Think that happened due to the higher ups?
Wake me up at your own risk.Yeah, its no secret that higher ups at Marvel Entertainment wants to push the fuck out of the success of The Avengers in MANY of their properties. From doing away Hawkeye’s classic costume in favor of the Jeremy Renner look in the comics to marketing EVERY toys and games to be Avengers related, and hell, to even that intro of season two for EMH which is basically a plug promoting the movies (only Iron Man, Cap, Thor and Hulk were acknowledged, with the rest barely getting any acknowledgement aside from appearing in the full roster shot).
I believe it was stated that one of Leob's decisions when he took over midway into Season 2 production was to outright change the focus to Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Hulk.

Seriously, when elements from Heroes Reborn like the Galactus plot are redeemed in a show, you know it's good.
What's Heroes Reborn?
You'll find what you're looking for on this page, but it was essentially a story arc Marvel Comics had in the 90's that occurred when Onslaught went and killed the universe and Franklin Richards tried to fix it.

Oh, that one.
The one where X-Men overhype finally killed the Marvel universe.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers... but it's still running...
Personally, I call it Marvel being stupidly desperate. I say stupidly because they handed a universe to Liefeld to draw.
I hyperbole but it's a situation where what was just envisioned as an X-Men crossover turned into a company wide crossover because the X-editor had become the editor in chief and then this x-story was allowed to basically kill off a lot of the non X iconic marvel characters
And then subcontracted them to Image. That's shooting yourself in the foot with an x bullet
It doesn't really help that this crossover that was allowed to remove Fantastic Four and Avengers from the universe for a while was really badly conceived for a crossover
Throughout most of it the writers didn't really know what the story was going to be because the extent of the planning was "wouldn't it be cool if Juggernaught got thrown across state lines by something?"
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYeah I think your original hyperbole was an accurate summary to the Onslaught event considering the quantity of X-Titles at the time, the main villain literally being X-Men related, and moving the Avengers and FF to a seperate one from the main one just because of how big the X-Men universe became (but for some reason allowed for Spider-Man to stay).
Hell, that crossover was not only made for the sole purpose of doing away with those two teams, but also Capcom licenses like Captain Commando, Strider, Armored Warrirors/Cyberbots, and Darkstalkers, just so they can focus on their real money sellers of Street Fighter (with Mega Man being the Spider-Man to the Capcom side). Too bad none of those games, well except for Strider, gets a Heroes Return story/game that re established them to mainstream attention.
Aaaaaaah, now I see what you mean. Looking back, it's kinda ironical how they more recently caused rage among fans by doing the opposite and trying to obliterate the X-Men.
Marvel posted a teaser of Avengers Assemble Season 5: Black Panther's Quest. As expected, it adopts the visual direction and "continuity" of Marvel's Spider-Man, featuring T'Challa facing off against Kraven the Hunter.

How many times did this show mess around with continuity so far?
Also, isn't BP a king? This opens a can of worms.

Good question.

... How so, exactly? I'm not sure I understand.
Marvel Animation's been dead to me since Spectacular was canned.
