Yeah, people put tropes that they got from unofficial translations of works all the time and nobody complains.

Like I said, I'm going to ask the P5 to make a decision on what the existence of a You Tube edit means for the page itself. The consistent way to handle it would be to make a page for said edit as a fanwork, but I'm personally of the opinion that in this case, since it's not an Abridged Series, Gag Dub or other clearly derivative work, strict consistency would amount to unnecessary hairsplitting.

I despise hypocrisy, unless of course it is my own.

Nobody complains because the wiki is huge and we can't catch everything.

We shouldn't be putting fan translation tropes/content on official work pages because it's dishonest to the reader, especially if the fans made heavy edits.

The fanwork could be on the wiki, of course, but that doesn't retroactively erase the content of the original.

A while back I noticed a discussion about building a page for the Visual Novel/SRPG hybrid Eiyuu Senki: The World Conquest, but the page was removed due to the sexual content of the game itself (especially since some of the characters with sex scenes are/look underage, as said in the thread).

An all-ages version with the sexual content removed was recently released and localized on the PS 3. Despite that all-ages version release, is the game still banned from having a page made?

...That's weird. If you look at the previous page, we decided to unlock it circa March 2015, but the action seems to have been reverted when TV Tropes was upgraded. Is there any way to remove the red banner?

No, having a clean version allows works to keep pages, having it made recently thus allows you to petition for restoration of the page (with cleaning it from referencing cut sexual content)

Adannor: We already ruled to unlock, and I can actually click on the Edit button (although I haven't actually saved any changes yet). We didn't restore the original page because it was poorly made. The problem is that the banner on the page documents the decision to cut but not the subsequent decision to restore, so nobody would bother trying to create a proper page for it.

How did we come to the decision to cut Fencer of Minerva, or was it just cut in the initial purge like stuff like Ikki Tousen and He Is My Master? The DVDs I rented a while back were rated for ages 16+, and while there were some mild sex scenes and nudity it was no worse than an R-rated movie and it had a plot outside the sex.

I'm not sure. I don't remember it actually having come under the radar before, and it's not on the list of works reviewed. Did we even have a page for it?

I don't remember Fencer of Minerva either. It might have been cut in the first round, or we just never had a page.

Yep, here we are. (Wayback Machine link.) Looks like it got nuked in the initial purge of the hentai index. (Although the page being in the Main/ namespace and having several YMMV items in the trope list probably didn't help matters.)

This looks like something that will need an actual evaluation made if there's a formal appeal on the subject. A cursory glance finds it on hentai sites, which is not a good sign but not a 100% disqualifier.

Discar? You have any interest in looking it up, as 100% of the active P5?

The page isn't clear, so I'll have to watch it. But I'm not sure I should be making decisions since I'm the only one right now.

Some Google searches reveal two things: first, it aired on Netflix at one point (but may or may not now, I can't determine that), and second, it's basically the unofficial Gor anime. (Even the Other Wiki's page - yes, it has a Wikipedia page - makes this comparison.)

Make of this what you will.

It doesn't stream on Netflix in the US anymore, I can tell you that; I keep myself well appraised of their online contents. It might still be in the DVD catalogue, but I don't recall it being there, and I kind of doubt it.

Just from the few DVD covers I was able to find through GIS, it does look like it leans toward the porn side of the equation.

Can we get a restoration for Epic Rap Battles Of History please? Someone vandalised a large portion of the page.

If you spot something like that again, Ask The Tropers is the usual place to report it. This thread is actually about pages that were cut or stubbed under content policy. Still, thanks for the catch!

I'd like to petitiona restore of the pages for the Friendship is Magic Fanfic Your Human and You. I have NO idea how you came away with the idea that it was pornographic. High in adult content yes, but actual sex doesn't happen until way further along in the story, and even then it's not the main focus.

Might as well cut Fifty Shades Of Grey by that standard.

Main problem was infantilism of the humans in the fic rather than regular sexual content quantity.

[up]And considering most of said humans in the fic are a subspecies of humans that don't tend to live much longer than twenty, mature physically to match said rate, and are non sapient, I can't say I see what the issue at hand actually is.

They're more like cavemen than infants.

Actually why is Fifty Shades of Grey allowed? It says downright that it is an erotic novel.

Largely because it's on bookshelves at Wal-Mart, and so we consider it "reviewed by people with a higher pay grade than us."
