I've only read the first volume of Demon Knights, but count me in as someone who'd like to see more of the team.
Epic dark fantasy starring various magical-based and long-lived or historical characters, fuck yeah it be dope.
We need more creative shit like that.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It happened in that weird part of New 52 where they tried to bring back war comics, westerns, and fantasy stuff.
I kinda wish they’d give all that another shot now that New 52 is over.
The weird about The New 52 is that it did have its gems.
Like Hell they gave Animal Man a comic that lasted a decently long time.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The Big Two can’t produce anything besides superheroes, now and forever. It’s why British comic writers bitch about them every three months.
For all people who bitch and complain about the Big 2 never doing anything other than superhero comics, they never seem to support the titles that do go beyond the genre.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."They do, they just don't support DC or Marvel doing them because they don't commit or they try to force them into the superhero square peg. There are plenty of indie titles and manga outside of the superhero genre that make bank, but DC and Marvel have never been able to tap into them. I mean, Trouble was supposed to be Mark Millar's attempt at relaunching the romance genre for Marvel, and we all know how that went.
I mean yeah it is a new version of the character
Sir Justin is the original shining knight
Sir Ystina is the reimagined version of Sir Justin
Fun Fact Sir Justin's last appearance was in Identity crisis when shadow thief stole his sword and killed firestorm
Outside of Trouble, has Mark Millar actually wrote a romance?
Because.... Yikes.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.
Shadow Thief: Wait, THAT worked? I thought he'd like, turn incorporeal or something. Or just heal, or—-or—-?
Firestorm: GONNA GO BOOM. Bye.
Sir Justin: We art...to just ignore that these events hence dost makest no sense?
Millar wrote a pretty good Peter and MJ in Marvel Knights.
Honest To New Gods question: Is Catwoman that interesting as a character? She’s been around for more than 8 decades and yet she’s never been much more than that cliché Femme Fatale character, regardless of which side she’s on. And I’m talking strictly about the comics, not about any of the other media incarnations.
She's interesting when she's written to be less of a Card-Carrying Villain and more of an Anti-Hero who could actually have a relationship with Batman if it weren't for the fact that her set of morals put her at odds with Batman (namely stealing jewelry, which is considered a crime even if she stole from the corrupt rich).
Yeah? She's a compelling character with a lot of good stories. Her dymanic with bruce is great, which is why it gets imitated so much.
Her other media portrayals are usually good, but don't really affect her in the comics.

Her current comic by Ram V I hear is quite spectacular.
Even the Future State story by him is great.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I honestly haven’t seen a Catwoman I’ve really liked in any form of media. I guess the 60s would be my favorite since I adore Newmar and Kitt’s take. But Pfieffer’s too crazy. Hathaway’s more faithful but not really interesting, the 90s cartoon and Arkham games don’t leave much of an impression, likewise, and Berry...
I’m hoping that changes with Kravitz, even if she’s way too short for the role. I do like her costume. Looks far realistic than wearing restricting leather for heists.
I did enjoy Ram's Future State book, especially the ending where Bruce tells Selina he's perfectly fine with her stealing stuff as long as it means they get to see each other again.
Since you mentioned the 90s cartoon, I've always felt that while I liked Catwoman herself in it, her episodes were always underwhelming, like they never really knew what to do with her. Random terrorist plot, animal experimentation, Selina turning into a literal Catwoman, etc.
Future state dark detective #4 preview https://comic-watch.com/news/sneak-peek-preview-of-dc-comics-future-state-dark-detective-4 peacekeeper 01 and the leader of the magistrate is Jacob Kane. Youd think kate would have been playing a bigger part in all this then
Wait has Batwoman even appeared in this?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Hm. That makes sense, but also kinda bummed about it. I’m not super fond of Kane becoming such a villain lately, and especially him being so.... fascist. It’s kinda uncomfortable.
a fewin thr background of the resistance and I think she was in jail in batgirls
Man I really gotta question the development behind the Magistrate storyline.
So presumably this goes Kane defeats Bruce at the start but he is then eventually defeated by Jace but with no appearance from his daughter.
This really is a mess.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Now, the typical question. Who would have been a better option to be Peacekeeper 1?
And I guess the Bat side was also a dud, huh?

Wake me up at your own risk.
Literally what I was thinking myself. Never ever knew about the non-binary angle until just now.
RE: Bat/Cat:
Rather disappointing that everyone's fussing about the art because it has one of the most "oh no she din'nt!" comebacks I ever read:
Oh no, she din'nt!
