Sony Animation

The Samurai Jack movie is not happening. Genndy left the company that owns the rights, its been in Development Hell and back too many times to count, its pretty much dead in the dirt at this point. The only way I can see this movie happening is, if in 10 years, theres a big 2000's nostalgia boom and whatever company who owns the license to the series at the time wants to reboot it and get some geek cred by getting the original creator on board, it gets popular enough for a trilogy where the final movie is what Genndy the finale movie to be.

Well, my hopes for Hotel Transylvania are upped quite a bit now! I had BETTER be good enough for me to understand why Sony would offer Genndy a long-term contract before it's released in theaters!

This just in everybody: animation under Sony Animation Imageworks will no longer be made in the US, because it's all being moved to Vancouver where the pay is cheaper, rates are a joke, and everyone can apply for unions if they're so inclined! That's more Americans out of work and more Americans with an excuse to act like anarchists, and for justified reasons, if they fail to find work in this nation and have no money and other required resources to go where the work actually is. That, and it means the movies from this regime are likely to get shittier and shittier, too.

There are many others doing the same thing.

There's also the fact that Canada is mostly hated for their animation in general, as well - that's a lot more potential to keep work here and of quality standards higher than that gone as well... There is not enough outrage towards this and it makes me sick to see more and more people, whom are NOT FIGHTING BACK against corporate fascism like this, WHEN THEY HAVE EVERY REASON TO.

So did I. To be fair, I think Sony decided to rename the film after noticing Pixar's trend of releasing films with one-word titles (with their two upcoming films, Onward and Soul, set to be released this way).
