I love how chipper and emotive he is.
If Fugitoid has the ability to pull out a scanning device from his wrist, it'll look like the sonic screwdriver. For obvious reasons.

HAHAHA. He called Earth a charming planet.
Anyway, the mouth thing kind of creeps me out, but I like those eye expressions.
And the ship's interior kind of reminds me of Eggman's lair from Sonic Boom.

Our first look at the "Turtles in Time" event!
Which reminds me, that's tomorrow, right?
The animation in the clip, especially on Renet, looks not as good as the rest of the series. Possibly rushed? Cutbacks?
Really? I haven't noticed any off animation in the clip...
To each his own I guess...
I wonder how the creators will make the time travel concept better received than when it was used in TMNT 3.
Well, I just saw the episode and it seemed to work well enough. I'd say Renet was an adorable badass, although she seems really familiar to me (my brother said she's a character that appeared in the 2003 series, which I haven't watched much of).
It ends with the Turtles ending up in Japan and surrounded by ninja. It appears to be in modern times, but I guess we'll find out next episode.
EDIT: Looked her up. Was more surprised to find out that she originated from the comics. I never saw the 2003 incarnation of her, but that explains my brother's comment.

I'm more surprised that that ridiculous outfit has appeared in multiple series ._.;
I like the increased modesty.
I didn't notice until now, but it feels like that Renet's design is inspired by Jack Kirby.
Saw the episode.
Renet was great. I was thinking "Hm. This sure seems like it's gonna wrap up pretty fast..." But then was mildly surprised at the cliffhanger. Assuming it is a cliffhanger. Hope it is.
Saw the episode on my DVR. The animation overall was fine. That clip must have just been a sequence done by the B-team at the studio.
I have to wonder: with Mikey taken care of and Raph set up for later this season, who gets a love interest next?

Pretty much, as far as I can tell. Her boss in the 2003 series looks like Jack Kirby in a Galactus hat.
There was an issue of the comics and episode of the 2003 series where Donatello met Jack Kirby, now that I think about it.
Who also created April per Mr. O' Neil's request, too. Subtle, Laird and Eastmen aren't. :P
I liked the episode though Renet's hyper fangirl stick got a bit annoying. Raph's nick name being "The Warrior" is rather redundant given all the Turtles are warriors and Raph isn't even the best fighter of the group. Maybe The Beserker wasn't flattering enough.

Stable Time Loop for the win?
Really enjoyed this episode. The drama between Saki, Yoshi, and Shen was pretty well done (it's pretty cool by how each series manages to make Splinter's origin feel unique). Only thing I wasn't too fond of was the whole Stable Time Loop aspect, but that's not a big deal.
I'm gonna miss Renet though; I managed to catch a couple of episodes of the 2003 series that had Renet, and I really prefer the new one to that one. Hope she returns one day.
On a side note, it's kind of amusing to realize that both 80s Mikey and 2013 Mikey have crushes on extraterrestrial women (I never fully watched the 2003 series, so I can't comment on that incarnation of Mikey).

Huh, Shredder's voice sounds kinda weird when he doesn't have evil overlord look xD
I know; kind of expect him to be voiced by someone else instead due to the range Kevin Michael Richardson typically has (which is usually scary deep voice or regular deep voice).
This episode made me wonder if Miwa actually is Yoshi's biological daughter or not. Splinter certainly believes she is, but what if she isn't? The writers made the specific choices that raise doubt in my mind.
When Tang Shen first sees the Turtles, it's Saki who comes running when he hears the baby's cry. Then he says "I would never let anything hurt you" while stroking Miwa's face. That's an awful tender gesture for his rival's kid.
In following dialogue, Saki specifically asks for her to take him back, implying they were together before.
Curiously, when he begs her to leave for New York with him, she doesn't shut him down with a solid 'no'. Later she says she thinks he's a good man. She still has feelings for him. Not romantically, mind you, but she doesn't want him hurt. Maybe that's the real reason she wants to go to New York with Yoshi; to spare Saki seeing them together.
Then there's Saki's personal hangup. As he says, he was adopted into the Hamato clan and raised by them in ignorance of his parentage. If Miwa is his daughter, he could see the present situation with her and Tang Shen going off together with Yoshi being a repeat of what happened to him, thus triggering him into action.
Lastly, there's Saki's own words to Miwa when he picks her up as the dojo burns. "You'll be mine to care for now, little one". Not "Yoshi took my love, now I'll take his daughter" or some variation of a vengeful sentiment.
The other idea is that she's Yoshi's daughter, and Saki, suffering from his hatred against Yoshi and the Hamato clan, as well as the fact that he believes that Yoshi has seemingly "stolen" (in Saki's mind) Shen from him, simply just has a ridiculously strong (and delusional) belief that Miwa is the daughter Saki should've had, because he loved Shen that much. When he takes Miwa under his care, he names her "Karai", because that would've been the name he'd given her if she was born to him.note
On a different note, it's kind of amusing to compare this origin with the 2003 series' Splinter/Hamato Yoshi origin, which had come on Nicktoons a few days before this episode aired.note
"Steal souls through the butt!" I'm not sure if that's based on Japanese folklore like Leo claims or not, but while looking I did find this.
I really think the episode could have done without the whole Back To The Future photograph thing. Did it really add that much? It's a time-travel related pet peeve of mine.
I'm kind of torn on which Splinter origin I prefer. On the one hand I like it when he's a rat because then the mutatgen is more consistent in what it does. It makes animals grow into a humanoid form and gain human level intelligence. In this series however mutagen does whatever the hell it wants to. On the other hand having Splinter be Yoshi really gives him a lot of history with Saki, which this episode explores at great length.
The "stealing souls from their butt" is a slightly more PG version of what actually happens in folklore. The soul is called the Shirikodama, which means "small anus ball."
Go here for more information if you please.
My question is, when does presumable Mikey travel back again and become the kappa-oni who inspired the cucumber legend with Shen's ancestor?
My question is, are the boys actually going to tell Splinter about this?
Anyone thinks its interesting that, unless I'm mistaken, Splinter's father didn't die. I know its unlikely he would still be alive, but I'm surprised he actually was alive by the time Shredder confronted Splinter.
I like the fluidity in his motion.
I kinda get the feeling the Kraang aren't going to appear again any time soon, given that the Triceratons are bound to show up as the next Arc Villain.
