I'm still expecting the mtx exp boosts to come for Avengers soon.

A Switch is only $300 while a good PC has an upfront cost of upwards to couple grand. Even with an online subscription thrown in you're spending way less.

Paid online is still shit though. Especially Nintendo's.

For the record I paid £509 for my new gaming rig. Its still good value for money. I mean I got a switch too but

Unless you're planning to use top of the line parts, a PC will never be a few grand.

At the time I was making my rig, it was like 500 USD for a capable mid-range rig which is really what most people would want or need.

I think my rig was $700 to $1000 give or take.

Yeah, that's about right. Mine can play most recent games pretty damn solidly.

I had to get help from a friend to buy my current rig and it cost me a fair bit. Shows what I know, I guess.

With the massive video card shortage... the price of a single mid range video card like a 1660 is like 500+... its just stupid.

My current rig is probably around $1,000, but I Frankensteined it together a little bit so that's a difficult number to pin down.

I paid about £1000 for my current PC back in early 2016. I've been meaning to upgrade, but the system I want is going to be £1500 minimum. I want to get a ray-tracing GPU because the Series X and PS 5 both have them, but I'm not sure if I want to stick with 1080/60 or bump up the resolution or framerate.

x3 - That's a (hopefully temporary) demand vs supply spike, rather than a built-in at all times cost.

I paid a little over €1000 for my current laptop around 2014. It was a high-end laptop back then and still gives good performance today, though the screen is a bit small for some things. Also it came with Linux. No particular plans to get a new one any time soon, even with Covid-19.

So apparently we're getting a Dynasty Warriors movie.

Given Jim's admitted fondness for the series, do you think they'll see it?

I thought they dumped the series after DW 9 shat into their hands?

With the Switch, "console v. PC" is a moot question anyway. Nintendo is all about first-party exclusivity. You won't find Breath of the Wild or Pokemon on Steam.

1. This was probably greenlit before that
2. I think this is Chinese propaganda using a foreign brand for name recognition
3. DW9 is still getting an Empire version, so the series isn't dead yet

Presumably those one will have action scenes like Baahubali where 1 dude defeats the entire enemy army solo. Baahubali is basically a musou in film format just set in India instead of China..

That is the most amazing thing I have ever seen on screen and I need to watch this movie now.

Oh yeah you do. This is from the sequel. But that's basically how every action scene plays out.

This is a series where a man in a hurry rides a horse so fast he Kool-aid mans through a cliff.

Where one dude does a powerslide across an entire swamp on his knees to arrive, kneeling before the man he wants to be forgiveness to.

Where people casually leap over walls the size of skyscrappers and pull 100feet tall statues of solid gold.
