Which they pretty much dropped after SA 1
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.MN 9 was followed by the fantastic Mega Man 11, while Mega Man X7 was before the hibernation.
Truth be told, much as I want an end to the actual MMX storyline, I'm not bitter with the lack of new entries: I got into the franchise through MMX, and Mega Man Zero was the perfect send off to the series and characters, which left me fufilled and satisfied.
If you're fan of classic Mega Man, though, the past decade was nothing but pain.
Also SA 1 was the beginning of Sega not letting us play as Super Sonic whenever. Sonic Advance 2 even completely fucked us over hard by making us get all the Emeralds as every character to unlock..Amy fucking Rose. Who was now a Sonic spriteswap. And not, yanno, Super Sonic.
It wasn't til Colours that Sega or at least someone realized "Oh shit people LIKE dusing Super Sonic whenever and wherever they liked?"
Which they fucked that up in Generations where the ring drain was absurdly fast, thus you had little time to enjoy being Super Sanic.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. That was always a weird disparity between the games and other Sonic media. The comics had the cute little animals being "roboticized"; they were being forcibly transformed into robots and conscripted into Eggman's army of darkness. Once they've been roboticized, they can never be restored to their original state.
The games still had the cute little animals conscripted into Eggman's army, but the robots are basically vehicles that the cute little animal pilots. Break open the enemy robot and you free the pilot, who flies or scrambles away to freedom. The capsules at the end of each level are supposed to be, like, containers holding all the imprisoned animals that Eggman's abducting.
Comic Eggman's army is basically the Borg, while Game Eggman's more like a warlord, burning villages and dragging their citizens away to be press-ganged into his service.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.The original games didn't have much in the way of storytelling, but I always saw Eggman's use of those little critters as an effective way of showing players that he's a bad guy. He's enslaving cute little squirrels and bunny rabbits! What a dick.
Disgusted, but not surprisedThe American versions of Sonic is always so friggin' dark.
And then you've got Axe Crazy Supersonic and Lord Sidewinder's gang (seriously the comics had some great villains and it's pity they've never been used outside of that medium, though they've had charmy the bee and a few other heros for some reason)
New theme music also a boxThat's not American Sonic...
It's light...

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Bring this back to Forces, it was only recently that I learned Sonic being tortured for six months and Tails having "lost it" were things added by the English localization.
He just goes missing for a while in the Japanese version of the script. Which reflects in the English version anyways since the characters are all cheery as ever in cutscenes.
So, the Sonic series as a whole's run the whole gamut from fluffy and cartoony to desolate and edgy. And then as far as we've seen Hollywood's focus-tested take on him fails to match anything on that spectrum tonewise.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI have to ask anyone this: should Call Of Duty franchise be put to rest? Every year a new game that doesnt change much or try much. I mean, frikken' Modern Warfare 4 this year.
They keep rehashing same game every year while changing barely anything.
...and? Doesn't change the fact series has stagnated.

For me personally, Black Ops II was the finale of the franchise. It ended on an ambiguous note for the Reznov saga, and the Modern Warfare saga was already completed.
Ghosts and beyond simply don't exist. They shouldn't exist.
Wasn't Ghosts the game that made the series into a joke?
And lets you genocide most of South America, yes.
IIRC Ghosts said Venezuela would be a world superpower and declare war on the Western world.
Venezuela.
One only needs to look up a single news article to realize how dumb that is.
They keep rehashing same game every year while changing barely anything.
Why? If people keep buying them, the clearly get something out of it. I don't, but the games don't take anything out of my existence either.
Much as I hate lootboxes and p2w microtransactions, the fact that the Senator proposing this bill is, well, kind of a shitbag (among other things he blames steel prices rising and sex trafficking on women and thinks Facebook and Google have an "anti-conservative" bias — why yes he's a Republican) makes me think we should read what's actually in the bill very very carefully.

Disgusted, but not surprisedOkay I wanna hear the Insane Troll Logic of how women are causing rising steel prices.
Admittedly it's second-hand and vague from another poster who is actually from the Senator's state Missouri. Basically the guy apparently blamed mismanagement at a steel factory (by women I guess) instead of Trump's tariffs on rising steel prices.
Disgusted, but not surprisedThe biggest risk, I think, is the potential for the bill to be overzealous. Senator Hawley (R-MO) seems to have made his name on trying to challenge the Tech industry. In a Fox News (ugh) interview, he had this to say of his agenda:
"These tech companies - Facebook, Google, Twitter - they have gotten huge. They have gotten powerful. They have gotten rich on the backs of this special immunity that they get from the federal government. And I think it’s time we ask some hard questions."
This guy hates the tech industry. His hot-button issue is that he considers tech companies to be exempt from the kind of regulation that affects other industries. That's his wonk: he wants to be the guy that slapped the Regulation Handcuffs on what is often considered to be THE Liberal Industry.
As noted, he has other horrible ideas as frequently befits a Republican.
But in this particular case, I do think it's possible that Hawley is a stopped clock. Hawley hates poor regulations on tech companies and AAA video game developers are tech companies with notoriously poor regulations. Thus, we have an Evil Versus Evil conflict that could actually do some good if people with better intentions can step in and make an Enemy Mine of it.
Hawley's wonk-based bill here is an "in" to bipartisan legislation that may do what had previously been unthinkable: force an end to the Microtransactions Era of video game development.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.4xi more worry this could lead the guy clearly doing this to get votes or to get people on his side by saying videos games are bad and were this could lead.

If he were doing it to get votes, he'd be doing it around this time next year. Nobody's going to remember April 2019 in November 2020.
This is about his main platform agenda. In a rare "Nat 1 on horribleness" moment, one piece of that agenda happens to coincide with a legitimately good goal that nobody's been willing to take up as of yet.

Don't forget "save the cute little animals being used as batteries or something".
