Then what about Metal Slug 10th Anniversary Collection, which had Metal Slug 6 in there, and Fio Germi's appearance in KOF Maximum Impact 2.
It doesn't look very good, and if I had to guess it probably didn't sell that well even in Japan, So it was probably deemed unprofitable.
Meanwhile, the main series beloved everywhere, is fantastic, and even the Anthology didn't sell that well.
Some anniversaries will be celebrated even if they're not very popular series when the milestone comes. And the second? Only one word needs to be said: Falcoon.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. How does not look good; I bet you watched that old cutscenes video on Youtube didn't you.

Metal Slug 3D was a decent game.Sure, the graphics look something out of a PS 1 game, but I played it expecting a complete piece of trash, and I was surprised that I actually had fun playing it.Better than the 2D games? No.But if you are a fan of the series,it's worth a shot.
One question about Whip using guns: Why did they have to censor them off? I mean, in Street Fighter EX, they got away with using guns there.
Priorities, man.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.SNK never had the money to buy off the ESRB like Capcom did.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. What do you mean by that?
Any here knows what's SNK Playmore doing nowadays?

Necroing this thread because it seems that there's some good news...
Well apparently they could have learned about the fiasco Konami did, so they decided... "All right, fuck Pachinko. Let's go back to video game business!". Got this from Fighter's Generation.
So, new KOF XIV trailer, introducing Leona and Chang to the roster! And...
... WOW, does this new style not work.
So what they seem to be doing is recreating the classic KOF motions in 3D. The problem is, unlike Guilty Gear Xrd, where they mixed in untweened movement with an artstyle that complimented it, as well as moments of smoother motion, KOF 14 has done it with a realistic artstyle, and no smooth motions. And also really cheap and lightweight hit effects. Kyo's DM looks so weak in the style.
Also, there seems to be a dizzy/stun state mechanic in the game now.

A corpse should be left well enough alone...If you're going to cross-post from the KOF thread, why not do it here?
There's about three threads that I could have posted in then. I didn't even know that one existed.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...It's alright, just go there next time.
Can this thread be locked now, please?
Decided to resurrect this thread because we got a teaser for a new Garou Densetsu/Fatal Fury:
That's awesome!
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Neo-Geo Pocket Color Selection Vol.2 is out now digitally. Here's a trailer showing off the games.
Cross-posting this from the KOF thread:

Summing up the video: we have more KOF XV DL Cs, KOF XIII re-release, the Samurai Shodown 2019 rollback, and more returning characters for the Mark of the Wolves sequel.
Edited link because the thumbnail spoiled enough.
August 8, 2023 edit: New Garou Densetsu/Fatal Fury game will have the subtitle "City of the Wolves":

Help me. I can't get it out of my head.Sad they're not using the old Garou 2 designs, but at least we're getting new characters.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-Aroundtl;dr The game basically uses the same base as Mark of the Wolves, but with the added Rev Meter, which basically acts as a reverse Drive Meter from Street Fighter 6. Performing the Rev actions described in the trailer will increase the meter by a certain percentage, and when it hits 100% your character will overheat and become vulnerable until you finally cool down.
For Those who Seek the Thrill of Death: A Dramatic SMT3 Hard PlaythroughI'm not feeling Preecha's design either, but female muay thai characters are few and far between, so I'll take what I can get.
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterAn English dub is a welcome surprise. Also the visuals are really popping this time. Probably the nicest looking game comeback era SNK has done so far.
If you were wondering if City of Wolves would follow SF 6's lead and utilize modern controls, we have an answer:
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Will Have 2 Control Schemes
Article also talks a little about the REV system and Preecha, but nothing new on those.
Part of me is a little surprised. I honestly couldn't decide if SNK would follow and use modern or try and stake a claim to being the traditional series against the changes SF 6 made.
Metal Slug probably wasn't very popular at the time.
