George was woken up that morning the way he was always woken up. His mother entered the room and turned on the lamp by his bed. After some grumbling, he quickly woke up and got dressed. After eating breakfast, he examined the TV Tropes forum and read about the various meteor showers, as well as the discovery of a new race. As he typed in his reply, he dictated it aloud to no one in particular.
"Heh, I doubt this is real. Just a big fat hoax. But the meteor showers seem pretty cool. Wish i had been awake for one of those..."
After he posted the response, he headed off to school.
Later that day...
George walked home from the bus stop. As he walked, he noticed a long, pure white shard sticking out of the ground.
"Wow, this is really quite something. Maybe I can show this off to my friend tomorrow. He might know what it is...

The Super Smash Bros theme began to rang throughout the rooms of Michael's home. The boy, who was sleeping in what looked like the most uncomfortable position in the world, soon woke up. He slapped his cellphone, turning off the alarm, and slowly, in an almost comical way, looked at the clock.
"9:15."
The boy stared at the clock for a few more minutes, before quickly getting on his feet and starting his morning routine in the quickest way possible. After a few minutes, he was putting on his shirt, brushing his teeth and turning on his computer to check if anything happened. He checked his e-mail and the websites he always visited, one of them being TV Tropes. He only had time to just read the titles of the most recent threads (something about meteors and cats and whatever) before he reminded himself that he had to leave now.
As he left home, perfectly ready for another day in school, he realised that in order to arrive at school in time he would have to take a shortcut. As he walked throughout the street, he soon noticed something stuck in the pavement near him. A small, white shard. Michael quicky picked it up and analised the little shard. He was about to raise his voice and ask if anyone lost that shard until he realised something: that shard was probably worth a decent amount of money. And no one nearby looked like they lost something.
"Well, what do you know? Finder's keepers."
Michael stored the little shard on his backpack, and resumed his walk towards school.
Meanwhile, several thousand miles away...
Jon sighed as he read through the same thread, before typing out a response, reading it aloud as he did so. It was a tic he really needed to shed. In the background, his computer was playing the soundtrack to... something. There was enough music on that hard drive that he'd lost track of what was and wasn't there. Outside, the midday sun sat high in the sky.
"...must be a hoax... You know what the internet is like." One quick proof-read later, and he hit send. He leaned back in his chair and looked around the room. His desk was a real mess, just like the rest of it; from the empty can of cherry soda, to the Sonic plushies balanced against the desk fan that wasn't going to see use for another few months when the summer heatwave came, to the assorted junk strewn across the rest of it.
And then something caught his eye; a turquoise glow from the shelves by his TV filled with DVDs and games. At once, the music player ticked over.
Weird how it's playing such a mystical track when something this strange happens.
Pushing one of the game cases out of the way, he found a strange crystal; the source of the light. As soon as he picked it up, the whole room, if not the whole house, began to shake. A jolt threw him back several feet, causing him to smack his head painfully on the end of his bed, and he blacked out.
When he came to, there seemed to be a hole in the middle of his bedroom floor. A strangely portal like hole, fringed in the same turquoise light. Slowly, he edged around it, and retrieved a black gym bag from the bottom of his wardrobe, into which he then dropped his camera and two chargers, one for it, one for his phone. He then pocketed said white phone, along with his wallet and inhaler, before rushing downstairs to grab his trainers.
With everything together, and the crystal still in hand, he held his breath, and dropped through the portal, alighting on the other side with a muffled thump.
"Yup. That tasted purple."
Viktor exits the C4C. In his hands, he carries a box with a Ham and Pineapple Calzone, and a raspberry band blueberry smoothie. As he walks back toward the Engineering Center, he sees something strange off to the side. He walks up to the ring indentation in the snow, and, when he enters the ring in the snow, giant rings spring up from the ground, and he vanishes, reappearing instantly inside on a cargo room. He gets up and looks around. Around him, boxes are strewn everywhere, and there is a single exit to the room, which appears to be deformed and bent, with an opening just large enough to fit through. Viktor begins to speak to himself, "Ok... So this is a... Um... I just came through... Rings. Stargate, obviously. My suspicions appear to have been proven right. Next I'll meet the Doctor... Oh, what the hell, I'll look around, I guess... Hopefully there's no Jaffa..." He gets up, makes his way to the door, and slips the it. "Definitely Goa'uld..." Hr begins to wnader the halls, finding no one, curious as to why it's so empty. Finally, he makes it to some doors that appear to be functioning. He slowly walks up to the door, and the doors open.
The doors open to reveal the Ha'tak's Pel'tak. Viktor enters, a grin on his face. He walks up to the throne, and sits down on it, looking out to the land outside of the Ha'tak. Placing his box with a calzone on one arm rest, and his smoothie on the other, he tips his fedora, and says, "Now this is more like it."

George examines the crystal. He holds it up rather close to his face as he kicks off his sandals. As he enters the living room of his home, he drops the shard suddenly. He attempts to grab it, but he misses. The shard impales itself in his foot.
George: AH GOD! OH GOD THAT HURTS... OF FU-
Before George could finish that obscenity, he is teleported to another location. He appears shortly after inside of the Ha'tak, facing a man in a fedora. George is also wearing a suit of armor, but he doesn't really notice that.
George: Oh my god oh my god where am I?!? Why am I not in my house?!? This isn't Rochester! Oh god oh god oh god!
Blue Pacific, signing off...
Viktor takes a slurp from his smoothie, muttering something about utensils as George appears in front of him. He smiles wide, and yells, "GGREETINGS PUNY MORTAL! WELCOME TO MY SHIP, THE, uh... Well, I haven't actually named it yet... I probably should... I wonder what a good name for the ship would be... The Peacemaker? Serenity? Fluffy the Terrible? Doomy Dooms of Doom?"

George: Um... Hi there... Sir... I don't know what happened! I just ended up stabbing myself with this crystal by accident, and now I'm here and I'm... Wearing... HOLY MOTHER OF GOD I'M AN ONION KNIGHT!

Nanabey was running as the bullets hit near her. "Why wasn't I invisible?" Nanabey wondered as she looked back to see a man in a black suit chasing her with a pistol. She then saw a chance to get away in the form of a sewer opening. She tried to get in before the man could shoot her again and succeed. She took a few moments to breathe and recollect the moment she crashed into the Earth. The pod accidentally opened mid-flight to Earth, sending the Incubator and the shards flying out. She then squeaked. "I... I'm sorry Marvelous..." She said. She then wandered to the nearest exit in the sewers.
As soon as she got out, she noticed a guy emerging out of a turquoise portal. She then approached him, feeling something familiar about him.
"Uh... Hello..." She said.
Jon looked around through the haze left behind by him colliding with the ground. As it began to clear, he could see something that made his heart sink; a pair of beady red eyes on an unmoving white face.
Oh, you're kidding me.
In his left hand, the crystal began to glow brighter, to the point where it illuminated everything within a few feet.
"Yup. That tasted purple."
Nanabey soon saw the glowing object.
"You... You have a Power Shard?" She asked him. As it glowed, she began to recall that familiarity. It then backed up. "It's..." She muttered. The shard soon began to crystallize...

Nicholas arrived at Starbucks.
"Hey, Nick, right on time!" Sam, one of his co-workers said. He then took out a pack of cigarettes. It was pretty routine of Nicholas to take over Sam's shift as soon as he arrives. He then got to the staff area and put away the odd jewel. Then went to the register to begin his job for the day.

Meanwhile, George had forgotten all about his predicament and was now having a lot of fun switching forms.
George: Alright, now Black Mage! *FWOOSH* Awesome! Now White Mage! *FWOOSH* Black Belt! *FWOOSH* Summoner! *FWOOSH* Evoker! *FWOOSH*

"W-what... what is it?" Jon asked, before noticing the crystal beginning to reshape itself, going from a randomly-edged shard into a metal framed egg.
But that wasn't all that was slowly reshaping; along with a feeling like his heart was being torn from his chest, Jon's hand holding the crystal was noticeably smaller and slimmer than it had been before.
"Yup. That tasted purple."
Viktor, meanwhile, was just yammering off potential names for his ship, growing quieter with each one, as if he was speaking only to himself more and more, "Mellenium Falcon? Death Star? Ultimate Doom? Shelter? Haven? Death? Pyramid Scheme? Spinerette? John? Zombie? The Flagship? The Loner? The Lancer? The Hero? The Smart Guy? The Chick? Heart?"
Nanabey began to stammer as she saw the crystal turn into something she'd be more familiar with: A Soul Gem. "It... It can't be!" She stated.
"C-can't be what?"
"Yup. That tasted purple."

Eventually, George stops changing forms, having decided to stay as the rather nice looking Scholar form.
George: Wow that was fun... Um, sir, do you know where we are?
Blue Pacific, signing off...
"That shard... It became... A soul gem!" She then noticed the person holding.
"And... I didn't know Power Shards could do that..." She stated.
Seriously? Right, that settles it; I'm still in my room, and that whack knocked me right out.
"Yup. That tasted purple."
"Wha? Oh! We're..." Viktor waves his arms in front of him, "Somewhere. I think..." He pauses for a moment, "This is my ship!"

George: Oh. Alright. Um... Is there anything to do on this ship?

By now, the changes had passed the top of Jon's arm, and started moving downwards, collapsing his shoulders slightly and generally reworking his build. It had also moved upward as well, taking the bulge out of his throat and softening the lines of his face. His eyes had gone from brown to blue, and his hair was now spilling over his shoulders.
"Yup. That tasted purple."
Viktor shrugs, "...Maybe? I mean, give me a break, I only just got here!"

George: Okay then... Wait a minute...
George notices that a small bloodstain is starting to show up on his shoe, what with it being made of cloth.
George: Let me test something out... Devout!
George's outfit quickly changed shape, becoming a pink shirt, black pants, red boots, and a cape with a cat-ear hood.
George: Cure!
The wound in George's foot quickly sealed up.
George: That is freaking epic...

A giant red pirate ship sails across Earth's space, getting hit by several blasts. In the ship's cockpit is a man wearing a red coat and a black undershirt, damaged from a battle, with blood seeping down his face and hands. The cockpit shook a couple of more times, forcing the man to grip tightly onto the steering wheel.
"Marvelous!" screamed a girl's voice. The man looked over to see a white long-eared cat looking at the window, putting its paw at it. "Look!" It said. Marvelous looked and saw a giant space ship with what looks like a pyramid stuck in the middle of it. The ship began to fire at Marvelous' chaser, a long ship with two giant cannons in front of it.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing!" Marvelous asked the ship. A viewscreen popped up in front of him, revealing a young boy with black hair, a scar under one eye, and a straw hat.
"Don't worry! I'll hold them off long enough for you to pull off that." The kid said, grinning ear to ear.
"Damn it... Of all the tricks to pull..." Marvelous muttered, looking at the wheel. "Very well. But when I am finished, get the hell out of there, okay kid?" He asked him.
"Don't worry! I'll manage to get out as soon as-" The kid said, but soon his ship was shot by two blasts. "GAH!" The kid then got knocked down by the shaking of the ship.
"Luffy!" Marvelous said out loud. His hand shaking in fear.
"Marvelous... It's an honor serving you... Please, you must fulfill your dream..." The kid said, getting back up, showing some signs of charring in his hat, but not blood.
"Don't you dare say that! What about your dream?" Marvelous asked him.
"Looks like I won't be able to become the Pirate King... But you... You can fulfill yours." Luffy said, grinning one last time before the ship blew up.
"LUFFY!" Marvelous screamed as he saw the ship, intact but charred heavily, fall into the blue planet below. He gripped the wheel and clenched his teeth.
The enemy ship soon stopped. In its cockpit, several people were on computers, checking for the status of both ships. One person noticed something up and turned to the ship's leader, who was enshrouded in darkness and the only thing to be seen was two large green eyes.
"Master, one ship is confirmed to be destroyed, but the other-" Just as the guy was about to finish warning the leader, the ship was knocked around.
"What?" The leader said as he saw one of the ship's cannons being severed by a large pirate sword. He looked to the corner and saw a giant robot, clearly made from the pirate ship and four other vehicles.
"KANZEN... GOKAIOH!" Marvelous announced. The view screen appeared again, showing the leader's green eyes.
"What is this? A last stand of sorts?" He asked.
"Yeah. I had enough of your smug grin and I'm making sure that is wiped clean off!" Marvelous said. The cat soon turned around.
"What... What are you saying?" It said. Marvelous looked at it, then back to the leader.
"I'll see you in hell." He said, grinning. The view screen closed and he looked to the cat again. "Nanabey, take the Power Shards and go to an escape pod." He said.
"What about you?" The cat asked.
"Don't worry about me! I'm not letting Luffy's death and the deaths of the other Red Pirates go in vain! The goal of fully understanding the "Power" must be achieved, even if I must pay the ultimate price! Go to that blue planet below us and spread those shards to the world!" Marvelous said. Nanabey remained silent for a few seconds, before finally nodding and running out. "So... It's come down to this..." Marvelous said as he held a tiny action figure. By pressing both sides, the bottom half folded to the top, revealing a key. He then placed the key into the wheel. "GOKAI STAR BURST!" Marvelous shouted out as five panels on the robot opened up, revealing a Chest Blaster and four lines of cannon balls on its arms and legs. The cannonballs soon began to be fed into the cannon as it fired them out towards the ship, causing massive damage. In the cockpit of the enemy ship, only the leader remained, albeit heavily damaged, while everyone else in the ship was either knocked out or dead.
"Onore..." The leader said as he looked at a button. "ONORE KAIZOKU!" He then pressed the button, causing the ship to fire a large magenta blast at the robot, creating a hole in it. The enemy ship soon blew up. In the cockpit, Marvelous smirked as the robot also blew up. Several pieces fell into the atmosphere of the Earth, including an escape pod.

ATTACK RIDE: PARACHUTE!
At night, in the middle of a dump in New York, a heavily armored person, almost looking like an astronaut, slowly landed onto the ground. His arm was raised as a trio of parachutes was making his decent friendly. As he landed, he touched his belt, a white block with ten symbols on it. A worker at the dump saw the astronaut.
"Hey! What the hell are you doing here?" The worker said before being shot by the man, who was now human. He wore a black and magenta leather uniform with a white logo on his chest. The logo was a bird with its talons on a globe with the words "DCD" on it.

Nicholas woke up to see the sun reflected off the mirror and into his eyes. "Ugh... morning already?" He said. He went over and started up his computer. While it started up, he took a shower. After it started, he went on to the internet and went onto TV Tropes, reading up some of the updates in the treads. He was soon looking at some of the new topics in the On-Topic Conversations section. One of the threads was "Meteor Shower! OMG!", but Nicholas' eyes were more glued onto another: "Incubator race possibly confirmed!". He clicked on the link and looked at the info.
He then scrolled down to see users joking about harassing the cat, some dismissing it as a jackal, much like the chupacabra, while only one expressed real fear for the discovery of the Incubator race. Nicholas chuckled, knowing what these things are. He then typed a response in the thread.
He then giggled as he posted the response. He then looked at the time: "9:51". "Crap. I'm gonna be late." Nicholas said as he got up and got dressed in a Starbucks uniform. As he walked out of the house, he noticed something impaled onto the lawn: some form of jewel with two long metal blades attached to it. He yanked it off and looked at it.
"Huh? Hm... Might make a killing in the black market." Nicholas said as he slung it over his back, unaware of what will happen.
