You're welcome!
New theme music also a boxFor some reason, this funny line just popped back into my head. XD ^_^;;
“The road to the Super Bowl is long and pointless. I mean, when you think about it.”
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.I forgot the conclusion of the sitter episode since it's been years since I last watched it. All I remember is Hibbert calling Lisa again?
RE:Lisa's Opus, I thought it's not just MJ voicing Leon Kompowsky but also the character himself being banned since he even does the MJ yell.
What is it with The Simpsons and One Scene Wonders?
“Quit stalling! What’s the plan?!”
“Forget the badges! When do we get the freakin’ guns?!”
“This enormous woman will devour us all! Ahh! jumps into New York Harbor”
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. There's also this guy.
"Well, I don't recall saying "good luck"."
Just a simple man, making my way through the Tropes.Isn't the Apu controversy an example of Murder Simulators? The argument is the same. That something that happens in fiction causes negative reception (not actual violence in this case) in the real world.
There has never been any verified correlation between video games and violence and there is no verified correlation between The Simpsons and racism.
To quote Penn "People must take responsibility. We must stop blaming society and actually blame the perpetrator". The perpetrators in this analogy are the bullies that call Indians "Apu".
Nobody is arguing this, though?
isn't the Apu thing old news by now?The voice actor apologised,it's just some people I've noticed can't let it go
New theme music also a boxIt isn't old news, because Apu has yet to make any speaking appearances since the documentary was made.
Old news in the sense no one is really arguing about it anymore, they've moved on.
New theme music also a boxOld news, then.
It's getting very annoying to keep bringing it up over and over for no discernible reason.
I haven't seen it but didn't the documentary itself acknowledge that Apu is overall a positive character but just highlighted for a larger issue? The thing is that in this age of over-analysis and trying to call out every "problematic" thing has made people less inclined to use minority characters because it's the easiest way to not do it wrong. And that's exactly what The Simpsons ended up doing. Same thing where the Disney remakes had modifications to the scripts that felt like addressing Buzzfeed "Things that didn't age well in X movie" articles but resulted in vastly weaker movies.
Do you not know that in the service one must always choose the lesser of two weevils! The Simpsons dropped the character because they probably felt he was a minor character not worth recasting, plus they probably viewed the documentary with hostility and probably felt they were giving in the demands of complainers.
New theme music also a box...no?
That's...not what happens?
Literally who gives a shit about IMDB reviews?
That's the equivalent of citing a Youtube comments section.
And what's more, can we stop with this stupid culture war shit about Apu? This keeps being brought up out of nowhere (by the same user, no less) and it feels like derailing things for the sake of stirring drama. The controversy has largely subsided.
The truth is the show has been going for nearly thirty years,it's bound to have some episodes which come access as problematic by today's standards,it's the price they pay for being a long runner.
New theme music also a boxTheRealJims talks about the rarer Marge+Bart episodes. I am surprised it is relatively rare. I think Marge+Lisa episodes are the only rarer ones. However they do appear more often as side stories of some episodes.
With that said I agree the episodes featuring them are very sweet.

I think of the relationships between the main family, Bart and Maggie are probably the rarest depicted. Granted, that's probably because Maggie is a baby, but I can think of a few episodes where her relationship with Homer, Marge, and Lisa are explored. I honestly can't think of any episode where the central focus is on her relationship with Bart.

How Lisa got her Marge back has a Bart and Maggie subplot that is really cute where he uses her to help his pranks. Best one has him pretending Maggie is an angel to rod and todd.
see my completed Tangled (Varian) fanfic collection! https://archiveofourown.org/works/24467056/chapters/59049532Maggie in general just doesn't have a lot of highlight episodes. Because of her age an inability to talk she more often ends up as a side figure for another character to grow a little, and sometimes they've gone years without a Maggie episode. I do recall one where she ends up leading an army of woodland animals, with her pacifier given elaborate subtitles, I believe the only time she carries a story personally (disregarding the short films).
Do you not know that in the service one must always choose the lesser of two weevils!Maggy gets more focus in Halloween specials I've noticed
New theme music also a boxWas randomly thinking about the Simpsons Movie. Guess it must've been fairly mediocre if 15 years later the only things it is remembered for are the "Worst X of your life... so far" meme and Plopper/Spider-Pig, that was completely irrelevant in the series itself.
I went seeing it in the theater back then and even then it struck me as something trying too hard to be funny and epic and ending up as just a longer and slightly edgier episode of the series. I hope that those talks of a sequel were just talks and nothing else, because I believe in this day and age a new Simpsons movie would feel forced at best and most likely irrelevant.
"Effective Altruism" is just another bunch of horsesh*t.Bart of Darkness doesn't really end, the Simpsons still have their pool and Bart is still in a cast.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.
Well then. Thanks for an answer!
