-Trudy feels the world begin to spin around her, nearly taking her off her feet-

-When it comes to a stop, she finds her footing, but it's sluggish, as if still, ever so slightly, hungover from the turning, and it will remain so in perpetuity-

-Near spins the Wheel, which lands on Skull-

The skull represents great misfortune. You will sacrifice a portion of your luck, and we shall collect when we judge inopportune.

-Velvet spins the Wheel, which lands on Body-

The body represents a loss of vitality. You will not be crippled by this sacrifice, but you shall be more mortal. Pain shall dog you more keenly. Your body will be more fragile.

-Sol takes the Wheel-

-It turns and turns-

-It lands on the Swords-

Ohohohoho... the Swords are a really interesting option, you know? You have to sacrifice a fight.

(she looks at her bandaged left arm when she says that)

"... Sheesh, hopefully the tummy swirling's gonna go away..."

-Velvet feels a terrible sickness, like she's about the vomit-

-It eats away at her from the inside, and as it passes, she feels somewhat less than she was before-

-He looks at Trudy-

This early in the show, it's gonna be predictable like that. Later on, Swords gets more creative and, I think, interesting. The next serious fight you are in, you're going to lose.

You can spin again if that bothers you, but then you'd have to do a penalty spin too.

"... Right, well, that can be ridden out..."

-He scratches his head and steps down from the wheel-

Alright... I guess I can do without color for a while...

That's two more for the rest of our team then?

Ngh...

(Velvet clutches her stomach and bends down on one knee, trying to fight the sudden pain)

Ugh...

(once it passes, she slowly stands up)

I can take it... this is nothing.

(Pulls out his phone in the silence, looking to see if Peripa or Kanaya have divulged any metagamey knowledge on the group memo.)

-while the point of the game is getting the most spins, it's still extremely risky if everyone is rolling and losing something that might be vital for survival or performance in things outside the wheel spinning-

So if it involves sacrifice, One of us should make more rolls than the others.

-she moves to spin the wheel-

Outerstar (Alice) and (Yuri)

-The two kids have totally been here the whole time, of course.-

-Alice seems very nervous and fearful.-

-She... should spin, right? But... she's really scared! What if she gets something really bad...?-

-Yuri, meanwhile, seems a tad pensive. Man, someone else probably needs to spin, right...? Ack, she has to admit that it DOES make her feel a bit tense...-

-She then looks towards Alice, and seeing how scared she seems...-

-...Man, there's no way she can let Alice do it. Alice is scared to death already...-

-It doesn't take long from the second she looks at Alice that she speaks up.-

"Tell you what, Alice! I can spin it!"

-Alice jumps a little, snapping out of her thoughts.-

-Yuri wants to spin it?! But... it's really dangerous, isn't it?!-

-Alice is, needless to say, worried about that...-

"Y-Yuri... W-What if you get something very bad...?"

-Yuri chuckles and grins a little.-

"Don't worry about me! We've been through scary stuff before, right? You're the one that has to fight Witches and all, so you need to be in tip top shape!"

-It's true. Yuri has survived all of those encounters with Witches, and Alice had to be the one to fight them all... So Alice is definitely strong enough to take enemies on, and needs all of that strength.-

-Meanwhile, Yuri has been able to survive at a disadvantage before. So being the one to deal with something like this is nothing new!-

"I-I..."

-Alice looks downward, her hands up close to her chest. Yuri seems very certain about this... so confident...-

-Should she let Yuri do that...? She has to admit that Yuri's logic does make sense, but... at the same time...-

"...Are you... certain...?"

-Yuri winks and flashes a V for victory sign with that big smile of hers. It's earnest, and yet... perhaps she's wearing it simply to help Alice feel a little better...-

"Of course I am! I'm gonna spin it, and it'll all turn out fine!"

-Alice doesn't really get a chance to say much more, as Yuri begins stepping up to the wheel. No fear visible on her face as she looks right at it. She lifts her hands, grabs the wheel, and...-

"Spin, spin, spin as fast as you can~! We'll get to see where you'll land~!"

-And with a couple of motions as she does that little chant/cheer, she spins the wheel with all of her might!-

-Alice has her hands up in a little, pumped motion... although still very reserved. She even has a slightly determined expression on her nervous face.-

"G-Good luck...! Y-Yuri...!"

-Yuri, meanwhile, is pumping her fist in the air with a far more openly determined expression.-

"Let's go, go, go!"

-NOT to say she hasn't been busy-

She is not useless without her tablet.

Her glasses, alchemetized back what feels like a lifetime ago, amongst friends and enemies, and the enemies of their enemies, record everything in sight and catalogue the wheel spin data as she watches intently.

Chance, in such a situation like this, is an unwelcome addition to the party. Too much causality in any situation defies anything more than logic based off percentages. Is It Luck? Not when the numbers are in your favor, but every spin takes in its own right.

Clearly, the whole damn thing is rigged, but more spins decrease the odds of losing.

Her mind made a connection to a human from Earth fiction and realized that more fanciful types, between proTESTING too much might draw a parallel between her and a certain Yossarian. If, in fact, they knew who he was.

This one is kinda weird. You can choose what to sacrifice, but it has to be substantial enough to satisfy Bezalel. If you don't give enough, we take it anyway, but then expect another substantial sacrifice. You can give anything, really, even abstract things like time or luck, or memories, just as long as you think it's gonna satisfy the Game.

-Both kids blink when they see what Yuri ends up rolling.-

-Then they look over to Sam as she explains, and...-

-...Well, she has to choose what to sacrifice...?-

"Whoa, that's a pretty weird one!"

"Oh my...! You'll have to choose...? That's... how could someone decide...?"

"Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..."

-Yuri has a finger up to her chin in a thinking pose.-

"...I've got it! Take away my voice!"

"Y-Yuri...?"

"I won't be able to tell anybody anything! So if something bad happens, I'll have to figure out other stuff to do instead to tell everybody! Like a game of charades!"

"B-But what if it isn't enough...?"

"How do you tell if somethin's enough, anyway?"

"I'm... not certain..."

-Ack, both kids are seeming rather confused now...-

"...Somethin' like that though! Something that'll make it harder for me to cheer everybody on! My voice is the best thing I can think of, but if there's something better, I can give that up!"

-Alice seems extremely nervous about this, though.-

-Yuri is always so cheerful, and her vocal support has always gotten her through...-

-It's very frightening to imagine Yuri unable to talk...-
