Why do I get feeling that whole thing got inspiration from the ant video?
Anyhoo, I found it interesting how the girl seemed to imply that she was either very young when whole zombie fungus thing happened or that she was born after it Usually these type of games happen in beginning of them, not after years.

i thought it pretty obvious. it mind controlling mushroom
^^^ I'm with you on this. A female lead who doesn't dress like a stripper, uses melee weapons, and is actually useful in a fight? Yes please!
Funny how I went from unenthused to interested based on one trailer . . .

That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulIsn't that the point of a reveal trailer?
Quick derail: what's so bad about Jak X? It has fast cars with guns!
Ontopic: This game... is going to be a doozy.
Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down. Its not as good as Jak 1-3.
^^^ This had better not turn into a Bioshock 2 retread, and it had really better not have Ellie kidnapped halfway through so Joel can rescue her and prove himself a hero. The plot has too much potential to waste like that.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulOkay, more I read the more I'm liking this.
Easy street has no parking signs.as someone who does 3D stuff I can say that if what we are seeing is real time (which I think it is) it is just fucking beautiful. Also two characters who are actually people.
wait wait wait
A game that's got character driven writing and has a focus on holistic experience rather than segregating everything?
Done by Naughty Dog?
i'll be in my bunk
While the theme interested me, the trailer doesn't show off gameplay. While I liked Uncharted 1 and 2, the series has been getting stale for me, and I think it needs to evolve, gameplaywise, and move away from scripted events.
I assumed this game would be nothing by Uncharted with a new theme, but apparently, according to a couple publications, the gameplay is more open and exploratory. I'm glad to read that. Most publications only talk about how Naughty Dog says they want to blur the line between games and movies, create an experience rather than a game, etc. etc. Reading THAT makes me think they're basically saying "we want to shove lots of scripted things in there that make you realize you're playing a linear game with cinematic trappings", but if it really is open and explorable, then suddenly I'm a lot more interested.
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones!New screenshots. Set at least in part in Pittsburgh.
Jonah FalconI am somewhat afraid that this game will just be a series of cutscenes.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterIt's sounding a lot like Half-Life 2 in some ways.
Jonah FalconInteractivity is something Naughty Dog had better not forget about, considering how much Uncharted 3 was filled with playable cutscenes, I mean, scripted moments. I like the idea of this game being focused on survival rather than shooting. I wonder how it will play out in practice.
I don't like how companies feel the need to show off cutscene pictures or pictures showing off non-gameplay angles to promote their games, rather than showing off gameplay pictures. I'd like to know what the game is like in action.
I have no problem with Ellie following you everywhere. I like the teammates in the Uncharted games, as they were pretty good at fitting in nicely into gameplay and feeling like you were going places with someone, without having to babysit them and take care of them.
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones! That fungus zombie looked fricking creepy!
Indeed, that's always a good sign in regards to the horror.
There's more info.
- Naughty Dog says they'll be developing the AI during the entire course of the game's development, because it's so hugely important to gameplay.
- Most of the enemies you fight will actually be human survivors, not the NotZombies.
- Enemy AI is very detailed. They realize when they're outgunned and will run away in fear at times, get angry when a teammate has been killed, and talk to each other a lot, shouting things about your position, etc.
- It sounds (I'm not totally certain) that you're limited to one weapon at a time. Ammo is supposedly scarce, and you might be fighting with melee or throwing weapons (e.g. bricks) at times.
- Ellie can participate in the fights. She can shout out enemy positions to you, throw bricks at them when their back is turned, etc.
- Bullets are said to cause real damage. Health does not regenerate, so you have to actually handle yourself well the whole fight.
- Health refills take time to actually apply, during which gameplay continues, so you can't just heal yourself mid-fight.
That's what I know. It definitely sounds like a much better game than I thought it was before. Very fresh and original, I think.
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones!I'll believe the AI claims when I see them.
Every game developer and their mother has promised better AI since pong came out and our biggest advancements have been A* (awesome!) and single level decision trees (boooooo)
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterAt this point, I'm seriously afraid Ellie is going to be wasted, yet another female "character" treated as a symbol and a plot element rather than a person in her own right. Still, I'll have to wait for the reviews . . .
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulAlso, from what I hear, Ellie's got a personality. She teases Joel about his past (he used to be a raider himself), and she was a delinquint and troublemaker in her military quarantine zone. She's obsessed with relics from the time before the infection - 20 years ago - such as books and music.
The interplay between the two could be really good. Some examples were shown in a Game Informer (no, I don't like them, but I keep getting the damn things in the mail for free) article.
Besides, this is the company that made the Uncharted series, and I thought Elena had a great personality, particularly in the first game, where she distrusted Drake.
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones!I've gotta say, I'm more excited about this than any other upcoming game right now. I've always wanted to make a zombiepocalypse game that went beyond merely "hey there's zombies, SHOOTDEMINDAHEADOMG 1!!" I wanted a game that would actually examine how that would actually affect society in the long term and how the survivors would actually cope with it. This is looking pretty close to what I had in mind. Funny thing is though, judging by the latest issue of game informer, the majority of the enemies are human...not quite the huge army of bubbleheaded mutants I was thinking of.
A lie was told...
western game need more <20 years old girl :3
