2 was a big improvement but they took out too many cool features. 2 is still better, but damn do I wish we got to keep some of those features.

I thought 1 and 3 were incredible. Both very nostalgic games, and they were my personal benchmark games that helped me learn the value of grinding. Haven't played 2, and Digimon World 4... crock of shit. I mean I was hyped, a Digimon game on the PS 2, at last.. and then they pulled that abortion. Not only did you have to grind as a rookie Digimon the whole game, but there were like four digivolutions total for every guy. Straight to mega too. I don't think the final boss was even a Digimon, just some huge.. mecha.. virus thingy that took half the stage's size.

World 3 is my personal favorite, due to all the digivolutions available and the side-quests. The card system in that game is abnormally detailed and intricate, they put a lot of effort into something that's essentially a sidequest as well.

World 1 was solid, bit annoying at points with having to get the digivolution criterias right on point, but the payoff was well worth it. Didn't have as much a problem with the toilets, not to mention for certain Digimon you didn't HAVE to take them to the potty every time. Some ultimates required purposeful care mistakes in order to reach their form.

Hey, an updated version of Digimon World Re:Digitize is going to be released for the 3DS. Maybe since it's not for the PSP, it'll get localized now?

...Maybe?

You know it's probably better to just discuss it in the General Digimon Topic, because I don't think we really get enough activity to justify two topics on it and we talk about the games in the general thread anyway.

Or keep it here since this is about the video game, and the other is about the Anime/Manga by default.(you know, being in that section)

Both are fine, anyway. It's not an issue at all.

...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.

Maybe since it's not for the PSP, it'll get localized now?

Sure hope so. The first Digimon World is the only one worth playing, so I'd love to play a real successor to that one.

Since the other recently made Digimon topic in this forum is mostly for the World series of games, I figured it'd be better to post this here.

Namco Bandai will be releasing Digimon All-Star Rumble for the PS3 and 360 in November. Supposedly, its in response to the petition linked in my sig, and fans are inclined to believe that Namco Bandai is testing the waters by releasing a title that's relatively cheaper to localize than a big RPG.

Frankly, based on the trailer, the game doesn't look all that interesting to me compared to other games that I want, but I'll be getting it anyway because localized Digimon games are rare.

A Spiritual Successor of Digimon Rumble Arena. I had fun with that game, except when it came to Reapermon who was as cheap as bosses got back then.

I've only played Digimon World 4.

I thought it sucked.

'Sup. I'm the guy that made the World series thread. Forgot that Digital Card Battle and the other not-World series games were a thing.

Anyway. Own World 1 and World 3, finally beat World 1 recently (300-ish Speed + Arm Charge + Megalo Spark = waii, therefore Devimon is forever my Best Bro in that game). Loved it as a kid, still love it now. Also like World 3, but not as much. Also a fan of Digital Card Battle.

Yeah, his moveset was pretty annoying iirc. i did think it was pretty cool that you could unlock him though.

As far as the World games go, I think DW 1 is the overall most fun to play, but the digivolution mechanics are kind of obtuse and getting an ultimate is an exercise in patience and frustration. Digimon World 2 had a lot of good ideas but the grinding and lack of visual variation in the domains killed it. Digimon World 3 has the makings of a decent jrpg but i really wasn't a fan of the 3d models, the obnoxious encounter rate, or the difficulty spikes going from area to area.

I actually thought the DW 3 3D Models were badass, myself.

And yeah, getting the first couple of Ultimates in World 1 are a huge pain, but it gets easier in the postgame once your Tamer Level has gone up a few times. (read: your baby will have higher starting stats)

So I went looking at random games on the XBOX 360 store and saw that Digimon All-star Rumble is now available. Not sure how long that's been there (apparently since November), but I wasn't actively looking for it and there's been absolutely no advertisement for it (not helping matters is how many other games were released that month that were much more highly anticipated). It also doesn't have a Japanese localization at this time.

Anyway, it's out, so I recommend getting it if only to try to support future Digimon projects getting localized (although at this point I'm also very certain that the effect this has is minimalnote .

to be fair that's the impression i get too. digimon was pretty much a fad that died out around the time frontier came around.

Any word on new Digimon games or at least any discussion about old ones? ^^; I'd love one for the 3DS or Wii U!

Nevermind, found info about one coming out in 3 days for the PS Vita in Japan, called Digimon: Cyber Sleuth.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digimon_Story:_Cyber_Sleuth

The Digimon Adventure video game for the PSP didn't come out in the US, and neither did Digimon World Redigitize for the 3DS, so I wonder if this one will.

Even after all these years I continue playing Digimon Dawn (kind of lost my save from Digimon World Championship). I don´t know, I suppose I like the grinding system? Very different from Pokémon´s. Heck, this break it´s been my main game. I´m playing it right now... tongue.

So there are already some Digimon World Redigitize videos of the english translation up.

Shame it's only for the PSP version. I'd love to know more about the Nintendo 3 DS remake.

On a happy note, Amazon says Cyber Sleuth is coming to the PS 4.

I'm tempted t buy one just for Digimon (and a Yu-Gi-Oh game.)

Sweet.

I'll remember to take a look at that one....one Youtube.

Don't have a psp...or Vita, or whatever handheld it's on.

I wonder if this is connected to the knowledge that there's a sequel to Digimon Adventure? If they timed things right, they could have a big push for both.

So speaking of Cybersleuth, someone has apparently done an english translations of that game as well. I found it while watching the english translation of re-digitize.

It's only three parts, but it's still surprising considering that the game is gonna get a localization soon. Hopefully, the ones responsible keep pumping it out, cause I wouldn't mind not having to wait truthfully.
