Long ago, an ancient superweapon, capable of shaping worlds, changing the laws of physics, and even influencing life and death, was lost. It was another casualty of a world-shattering war, that saw the deployment of indescribable horrors and carnage on a galactic scale. Its name was Sifuri, and, as the ashes settled on the remains of cities and combatants, it was decided that some things were best forgotten, and Sifuri faded from memory as its creators set about rebuilding and reconstuituting all that had turned to ashes. For billions of years, Sifuri lay abandoned and alone on a distant world, safely out of the ands of its creators and never to be used again.
But now, things are beginning to change. The embers of war are begining to stir. A powerful force looms on the horizon, and Sifuri may be all that stands between it and the destruction of its creators. Two criminals, seeking to atone for their misdeeds, assemble two competing teams- one based around the supernatural, the the other around the scientific- to recover the artefact. It will be a long and perilous quest across the multiverse to recover Sifuri... but will the forces of magic or science prevail?

Hello once more, and welcome to the signup thread for A Game Of Gods: Taskforce Sifuri. Now, the first thing that you're probably wondering is why exactly we need another spinoff. The answer is that this was initially going to be a plot in the current Infinities game, but due to my worry that the mini-epic would would take too long, I decided to spin it off into its own game. That said, this game is extremely close to Infinities, moreso than TOTG was to the original AGOG. Because of that, there will be several crossovers between the two. Besides that, all the same rules in AGOG, and general RPing etiquette should apply.

Naturally, the biggest 'gimmick', so to speak, of this RP is the fact that characters who have science-based powers are pitted against those who have magic based powers. I'm really hoping for even teams for this, so if we have too many people on one side than some people may be given control of a second character for the opposite team. Characters who use both magic and science, such as Magitek, will be admitted on a case-by-case basis.

You chose a person from a species who has a weakness to Magic for a game based around Magic vs Science.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!
It's not a weakness per se. It's just that Kryptonians aren't resistant to magic the way they are to a lot of shit, so it's a weakness by comparison. It has exactly the same effect on them as Joe Random, meaning that means it neatly bypasses the Nigh-Invulnerability.

I am pretty sure that most if not all of team magic would outright kill an average human with their weaker magics.

Yes it would. Team Science already has enough outright assholes and beings of sketchy morality to have another on the team. But that's my opinion, I'm not a GM.

@Motree: Accepted.
@Legend: I have three problems: super endurance, super strength and super healing. Now, when it comes to accepting characters, I base myself on how would the character in question do against the characters in the opposing team. And Supergirl would wipe the floor with them, to be frank. So we're gonna have to severely nerf her, and that means taking care of those three problems.
Now, here's what I think we should do: remove super-healing, which means she won't instantaneously heal her wounds- because that and super-endurance means Supergirl is basically a walking tank- and lower her super-endurance to around Loki levels- which is around 'can take a full-on mega punch but repeated attacks will pretty much knock her out'. As for her super-strength, I'd say... easily lift two cars? Something like that.
You could always choose another less overpowered character, if you want.

I am ok with the nerfing :). She was more less like that at the DCAU ( half as strong and durable as superman) and she struggled with poison ivy.

So, it is okay to have another character for the other team? Because I had this guy floating in mind for Team Magic for a while...

- Universe: Wakfu
- Appearance: Nice hat...◊
- Backgroud: Found in a cradle in the village of Emelka by his adoptive father Alibert, Yugo spends most of his life working at his inn, where he serves as an expert cook. After a chance encounter with Nox, a time mage, he is told that his real family can be found somewhere out there in the World of Twelve. After this incident, Yugo leaves Emelka with a party of 4 on a quest to find his real family.
- Personality: Cheerful, fun loving and always looking out for others, especially his friends, Yugo serves as the idealistic young boy. He can get hot headed at times though.
- Abilities: As an Eliatrope, Yugo can summon portals any place at any time, which he can use for quick escapes, traveling high places, and sneak attacks. He can also blast powerful beams from the portals he summons by overlapping the both of them. He's also surprisingly fast and agile for a kid his age, and can sense his teammate's life forces .
