Divorced Joe's dad for his philandering, is implied to have not taken Joe in the divorce because looking at him reminds her too much of Dr. Rosenthal.

That is pretty dang rough to have your parent refuse to parent you because you remind them of the only other family you have.
This might shine a light on why Joe is reluctant to step away from taking after his father's cassanova ways, because if he does then that would mean his mother distanced herself from him for even flimsier reasons.

Wow Booster really is replacement Mike.
Right down to (probably) not having any friends because of how he constantly analyzes everyone and won't shut up about it.
Is it weird that I find Booster's smugness more insufferable than Mike's overt dickery?

He...does have a smug ass point. Smutfiction is often a point to deal with dark desires, face traumas, wish fufillment... but of course saying you downloaded someones psyche through their wankposts is not going to get you far in most circles.
Booster did explicit what I have been thinking about Walky and Lucy.
She has zero positive influence on his character development, and always enables his worst traits.
Sure, a relationship doesn't exist to "fix" people, and sure, if they are happy with each other, then all the power to them, but Walky desperately needs to improve both as a person and a character and this relationship seems to be stalling both things.
The last two panels ruin what could have been an actual moment of seriousness and sympathy garnering for Booster for the sake of a dumb joke that simultaneously makes it look like Booster had an Ignored Epiphany. Ugh.
Assuming that's not exactly what happened.
