Holy shit, this is amazing.

Two members of the cast in active therapy? This is the content I want. Thrilling to actually see someone doing better. Of course I imagine Jennifer is going to do her usual thing if trying to distence herself from herself too much.

Also Heck yeah Joyce, I love her new found commitment to respect people at face value.

I can't tell if this is a good development for Jennifer or not.

On the one hand, she does legitimately seem to be in a better mental space based off of the few panels we've seen.

On the other hand, this set-up (Jennifer dumping her entire social network) is consistent with the grooming phase of an abusive relationship, and we know Asher is sketchy.

On the third hand, this set up seems reminiscent of this comic.

Regarding your second hand:

a) If Jen's in therapy, wouldn't she either tell her therapist she was being abused? Or her therapist would notice a change in behavior and pick up something was wrong?

b) Asher isn't the "rob convenience stores and narc on the new girl cause he thought it'd be funny" guy he used to be. If he were, hed've tuned up Walky after he threw that punch. I don't get "abusive dick" vibes off the guy.

c) Tell the truth and shame the devil, as my pastor would say: Let's consider her social network. Distancing herself from Walky alone would be a good move, at least until the little bastard grows up a bit.

Joyce would look good with glasses.

Joyce is just going to make this worse for her self.

Also, both Jennifer and Amber are in therapy now, I wonder if we'll see any of that and if they have the same therapist? Seems like a good opptunity for a character.

I remember being in the same position as Joyce was here, but about 5 years younger.

And just like Joyce, I tried to handle it until I couldn't even see the chalkboard from even the front row of the class.

And note, I'm not blind, but I am near-sighted.

I was in Joyce's position without realising it. It took me years of blurry lectures before I realised I needed glasses.

I got glasses when I was five years old. My mom still thinks it's because I sat too close to the tv. The truth is that I sat so close to the tv because I needed glasses.

Amusingly enough, I got glasses exactly like this, but, y'know, not being stubborn like Joyce. Always sat on the back, noticed one day the blackboard seemed blurry, went to the doctor... well, I went to the doctor the week after, but that was because he didn't have space that week.

This is my first year ever wearing glasses, I'm 27. Driving at night was giving me eye strain.

I got glasses in kindergarten, after the teacher told my parents that I needed them. And sure enough..

So do you think she's gonna start wearing glasses all the time or only for situations like this?

Because I doubt Joyce will wear contacts.

Gosh I love Dina's satisfaction.

A bit late, but even though I was last in college, like, 15 years ago, can confirm Time Just Works Differently on a college campus.

Pretty sure, like, 2AM was my average go-to-sleep time in college, and I'm sure I wasn't among the latest averages.

Suffice to say I don't do that now.

Which is why morning classes in college are nightmares. But it is weird how normalized all nighters are, definitely starting noticing when I went back at like 25. Didn't bother me the same way at like 18.
