Yeah I'm hoping Izu gradually develops into her own character but also keeping her status as "Aruto's straight man" as well.
Burning love!Just watched the first episode. I see that we're getting a protagonist who wants to one-up Kuuga by making everyone laugh instead of just smiling.
Fight scenes were pretty good, but damn you Toei and your low budget for CGI...
And Izu has potential, as well as Fuwa (Vulcan) and Yaiba (Valkyrie). Let's see how this series goes down the line...
... And that's called jazz!Just watched it.
Aruto getting an instant crash course on how to be a Rider means we can jump straight into him fighting the enemy.
Izu seemed almost sad when Aruto noted a machine can't really understand dreams, which gives her a good Character Arc, with others perhaps underestimating just how much she can feel.
Fuwa....oh god Fuwa. His raw all consuming rage towards Huma-Gears (I doubt there's a even a difference between them and the Magia in his mind) gives him a long way to go. I can easily see it being turned against him (like he unintentionally causes an incident where a Huma-Gear gets hacked maybe because it's actually resisting, and then he shoots it in a blind attempt to exterminate it, making it easier for Metsubojinrai.net to compromise it, or more alternatively, he mistakenly harms a human while attacking a Magia. I'm even picturing a scenario where he shoots through what he thinks is a Huma-Gear to get at a Magia, and then it turns out it was just a human wearing huma gear like headphones).
He just seems like the kind of dude who needs something really big to shake up his world view. Like lots of people getting hurt because of his grudge against Huma-Gears.
Yua needs some respect. Hopefully, she'll get that in and out of universe. Though it'd be funny if she and Fuwa go opposite directions in their Character Development: she starts to hate Huma-Gears more while he begins to soften.
Right now the biggest mystery is while Aruto's gramps decided to make him the president and told no one else. And also how he knew Huma-Gears would be hacked. It's clear Metsubojinrai.net has something to do with that, but we'll have to wait on that reveal.
Speaking of those dudes, while I've been a little sick of the big enemy always being humans, in this case, I think it'd work better than the villains actually being Huma-Gears themselves, because it would show that Huma-Gears themselves aren't the problem, which is something that needs to happen.
One Strip! One Strip! There is also the question of what motivated the creation of a Humagear based on Aruto's father. Of course, the fact that Aruto himself seems to have no previous relationship with his grandfather seems eyebrow raising, but it might be something they'll explore later, depending on how much a mess the old man left him to deal with.
Wake me up at your own risk.Going to call it now, Aruto is a HumaGear and Izu is his predecessor, his 'grandfather's' previous attempt at making an heir that was considered a failure.
You'd think they'd go back to well-choreographed fight scenes instead of indulgent CGI...

I wonder when was the last time they went for more coreography and practical effects than CGI-heavy sequences. Amazons was actually interesting in this regard, but I miss the kind of stuff we'd see in The First, for example.
... And that's called jazz!Fun fact, since its been brought up how everyone is tired of human villains, both Horobi and Jin's ears are hidden so its entirely possible that they are huma-gears as you can't tell whether they are or not due to Horobi's bulky headband and Jin's long hair+hood.
I mean, does it matter if they are Huma-Gears or not?
It can easily turn out they went rabid because a human abused them.
Though I admit, finding out what they are and why they are doing this will be some good contextualizing. I just get the feeling they'll go the easy route.
One Strip! One Strip!Well, we still have several reveals coming, so we'll see. So, any bets on old man Hiden?
Wake me up at your own risk.He could be the real villain I suppose.
We know so little about him that it's not out of the question.
One Strip! One Strip! My running theory is that the guy who wants to be President killed old man Hiden and is backing up the guys making the HumaGear run rampant. Alongside that, the reason Hiden knew the HumaGear would become a threat is that the guys behind them going rampant are ex employees and he found out they hand tampered with the HumaGear before being fired. There's no recall because it's too late for that so the Kamen Riders are old man Hiden's way of dealing with it.

It all depends on if they need those headphones or not.
But yeah, Aruto being a Huma-Gear is very possible.
Not sure about Vice President being a bad guy; it's possible, but I can't help but feel he'll be more interesting as a well meaning asshole so to speak: he's against Aruto (at first) but not really a criminal.
You know what would be a left field reveal: Fuwa is a Huma-Gear.
He's force to realize he's been hunting his own kind all this time, and that he's one of the very machines he despises.
Or alternatively, Yua is one, with how Fuwa reacts depending entirely on where he is in his own character development.

One Strip! One Strip! The big question is what Fuwa'll do once him acting like a trigger happy loon really costs chances on figuring out what the hell's going on.
At least Yua, who's said to not be too fond of Huma Gears at least can keep the eye on the ball.
Wake me up at your own risk.
Right now he doesn't seem to care about why it's happening. All he wants to do is destroy them. And while I expect he has valid reasons for that, you're right that his actions will need to eventually have consequences.
Though it's important to note that not even Aruto knows what's happened so far; nobody saw Ab Busting Taro get turned, or that it happened unwillingly. They just saw him go berserk out of nowhere, so Fuwa ignoring orders and attacking without care of preserving them to find the root cause will likely delay they from finding out about Metsubou.
One Strip! One Strip! On the topic of theories, the big one that I have is if Izu does become a Kamen Rider later on, she'll be Kamen Rider Zero-Two to Aruto's Kamen Rider Zero-One. And that the main antagonist will also be a villainous Kamen Rider, known as Kamen Rider Ninety-Nine.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.I thought a Kamen Rider Double Zero (maybe someone snatching the prototype Driver?) would fit more, or a reference to some other code.
Wake me up at your own risk.We should probably be careful about naming any other females Zero-Two.
....Or so I've heard.
One Strip! One Strip!Don't even get me started on that show.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests. At the end of KR01 Ep. 02, I saw the same security guard that turned into a Magia as among the security guards on duty as Aruto made his press conference. Does this mean HumaGears' memories can be backed up in advance to replace corrupted ones?

No. I'm pretty sure that's just a different guard wearing the same scarf. Mamoru is very very dead.
Fuwa thinks Zero-One is a Huma-Gear, and now that I've seen some of his history, I get his anger. That still doesn't justify it, and I hope something shakes up his stance soon enough....though him finding Aruto actually funny (but not wanting to admit it) does give him an interesting quirk.
Next week, Yua joins the party.
One Strip! One Strip!I think Aruto's Rising Hoper ability lets him return humagears back to normal. At least the wiki says as much.
Fuwa is a shithead but the fact he's the only one who finds Aruto funny is amazing.
Somebody should tell him that then.
He's ventilated two Huma-Gears he could have saved (Mamoru especially). That's gonna weigh on him.
And yeah, Fuwa actually finding Aruto funny is ironic considering everything else about their relationship so far.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah the wiki says Mamoru is the first Humagear that's been returned to normal. Could be a misinterpretation how things went down.
The tvt pages don't seem to decide if Mamoru is going to the recycling plant or got saved, either.
Wake me up at your own risk.
Huh. I thought Izu was Valkyrie but looking it up I see that she's not. Interesting.
