Naraku loved this trope.
For the record post.
It was added after Deboss pulled this pic.
Please.
The current pic was chosen as a result of this thread; the page should've been tagged.
I distinctly remember pulling the Eva pic after an Image Pickin' decision. It didn't look anything like a shadow because, you know, shadows aren't white.
Fight smart, not fair.Well, it is a shadow in the show, but Eva's fucked up like that.

Didn't know about the other thread. If the One Piece example is actually a correct one I might be willing to let it go with a better caption unless a better option is presented. Could someone familiar with the show explain/add the example?
That said, most of the examples are not actually Living Shadows.

The One Piece example is nearly a Type 3, but not quite. Gekko Moria's shadow wasn't ever a body double, it was just a living shadow. It has to appear to be him to fit this. Not an example. I vote to pull, on basis of not being this trope.
Naraku is a good example, dunno how picturable it is though.

I'd like to re-nominate this suggestion from the old thread◊, as it contains a big scary creature, followed by a bigger scarier creature of which the first one is only a small part.
That's so busy that it's really hard to tell what's going on at wiki size.
In the One Piece example the dude projecting a shadow is lounging behind it.
Plus it was picked in another thread, so I think it should stay unless somebody finds something that's really better, not just thinks that it's not good enough.
Would like to ask this question here before spinning off a separate thread for it: Does anyone think Fighting a Shadow and Actually a Doombot are too close to each other to be separate? I don't think the later one existed the last time I paid any attention to it.
Sorry to go off topic, but I have a question: is there a trope where a character is quite literally fighting a shadow? Not a Doombot, but a being actually created from your shadow.
Living Shadow is the closest that I found.
Vote for pulling. It doesn't appear to depict the trope.
First key to interpreting a work: Things mean things. It most certainly depicts it. The "shadow" is an extension of the other guy's being, a projection of himself that he uses to fight with. It's a pure Type III.
Pulling
Relation to the trope isn't clear at a glance, requires familiarity with the series to tell that it's an example. An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.
Uh...why did you pull it? Only 3 were in favor of pulling, while 2 were in favor of keeping it. Not exactly a vast majority.
I was against because I was under the impression that the projection is supposed to be an exact duplicate of the person. If it's not, I vote to keep.
Yeah, that picture fits into type 3, as far as I can tell. Put it back up until we get more discussion.
Reaction Image RepositoryImage put back up until we come to a general consensus.
Revisiting to try and clear this as part of the stale thread busting push.
Problem is we don't have consensus over whether this picture is actually an example. Can anyone resolve that once and for all? If it's not an example the motion to pull should be carried out. If it is, then I'll withdraw the motion and holler for a lock.
Here's the thing about the "Type 3": It's a more recent addition and I'm not sure if it really belongs here or with Living Shadow. I was the one who spearheaded this through a rename and description rewrite a long time ago and I didn't include it.

The Laconic reads "That Big Bad you're beating on isn't really him, but a fake or a projection.". The shadow is both a fake version of him as well as a projection of him, therefore it perfectly fits.
One much needed nap later, I agree. Hollering.
Motion to pull image:
As a side note, the confusion with shadow monster is understandable, but if it's really a problem, someone else take it to TRS...I was responsible for getting it renamed in the first place and at the time there were no better alternatives presented.
