Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

Asgardian man slaughters innocent space creatures
I missed the part where that's my problem. We all poked fun at the possibility of it, but Taika Waititi is playing straight with us: the Silver Surfer isn't coming to Thor: Love and Thunder.
The old Planet Hulk animated film replaced Surfer with Bill, so, we are getting Bill?
I can't believe we're going to get Starsharks. I hope we get to see the Acanti as well.
As for Loki, I want to see Kid Loki. I think that would be another nice lead up to Young Avengers.
, Taika's being ambiguous about that. There's some speculation that both he and James Gunn have their own ideas regarding Beta Ray Bill, so it's all up in the air.
Fun fact: The Starsharks first appeared in Chris Claremont's run of Uncanny X-Men, which means Fox had the movie rights to a whole species of killer alien sharks and did absolutely nothing with them! Thanks for that, Simon Kinberg, Bryan Singer, Tom Rothman, and Rupert Murdoch!
Considering what they did with Phoenix...twice, did you really expect Space Sharks?
At the rate they’re going Marvel will probably use the Spaceknights before Hasbro does anything with ROM.
Reminder that Fox butchered the Phoenix & Jean Grey twice.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Honestly asking, but how long do you think we'll have to wait before seeing the FF or the X-Men really hit the field?
Wake me up at your own risk.On the other hand, Marvel make Ultron, one of the biggest villian....boring and a mess.

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"But Marcel only did it once though.
Fox ruined a character 2 times & with the same man at that.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Got some laughs out of MCUltron
Can't say Fox Phoenix elicited much out of me.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNope, but I just love the fact that once they could use the Marvel stuff that Fox initially had dibs on, Marvel Studios didn't hesitate in throwing in stuff Fox slept on, like SWORD, Madripoor, and now Star Sharks, which I didn't even know were a thing until now!
I know that, I'm just poking fun at how dull the Old Fox was.
At least Ultron tried to be funny & charming.
From what I’m getting from Dark Phoenix, it was an attempt at like a dark serious experimental examination at....... mental illness or some other serious topic.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Ultron was wheedon plagarizing himself, more or less.
And I mean, they give us the best wolvering movie ever, is hard to top that.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Ultron had an amazing actor at least.
The delivery of his lines was Godlike, its such a shame the poor bot was a total scrub.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Did he appear too early? Just asking, because it would have taken a good while for the MCU to handle the level of destruction Ultron can cause, and dunno if they would handle the consequences of it properly.

Wake me up at your own risk.Is more is presence, Ultron dosent feel the quite game changers he is suposed to be, in fact he feel like a water down version of loki.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"He came at the wrong director. Whedon had this surreal (and stupid) idea that the Avengers are a unstoppable force once they're properly assembled and thus their main conflict should always be that they're a ticking time-bomb of a team. Hence why in The Avengers the main conflict is about them coming together when they're such a mess, and once they actually do assemble properly towards the third act, they solve the primary conflict fairly well (noticeably the main risky moment in the Battle of New York is the World Security Council launching a nuke at NY for not trusting the volatile mix of the Avengers, not anything Loki does).
Hence, Ultron provides 0 actual threat to the Avengers, as (per Joss Whedon) they can only be troubled by their own inner demons keeping them from properly assembling.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Also joss atempt to make Ultron more human come across as just make him quirky and less threating, Ao U is the movie everyone point out about the "marvel humor" being distracting.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Good lord imagine what he could have done to Thanos if he was still directing considering a major part about the character was that he was extremely powerful & thus an unrelenting threat to the Avengers.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Hard to know, specially since in infinity war thanos can be beat as the battle on titan prove it, he wasnt the super invencible villian many though.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I feel Thanos would've been closer to the comic incarnation had Whedon directed Infinity War. Less of Well-Intentioned Extremist and more of madman who worships death. It would've been a very different movie that's for sure. We probably would've had the Snap happen at the midway point and bring everyone back at the climax instead of splitting it across two films. Whedon seemed to try and make his Avenger films more stand alone, although YMMV on how well he accomplished that.

The avenger movie work better because previous movie already set everything it was necesary, not much time wasted in presenting every hero and that stuff.
Ao U on the other hand, have to present make Ultron and presented with Wanda and plenty of other stuff that eat time, the movie really feel very tight and to fast pace to be good.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"
There were rumors of Hulk being killed off, so more Professor Hulk makes me happy.
