Antroz simply snorted at the confusion, even with the horrifying revelation of scorpion's face.
"A Rag-Tag bunch of misfits more obsessed with fighting each other than seeking your liberation, I pity your stupidity if there is such thing as the pity of Makuta".
It seems that several of the group were under going some sort of mind warp; no matter, as long as they were alive they could prove useful.
Rey shook his head a bit, wincing at the pain in his skull as he did that, but waved off Scorpion somewhat. "Don't worry about it, man, I'm fine. I've taken worse beatings and still won the fight." He grunted, getting to his feet, still rubbing his temple. "God, I would love some tamales. I hate this place."
Easing back into life one step at a timeStranger was still sitting against the wall, staring at the group from under the brim of his hat. "Well, this is certainly a, interestin group ya'll got here."
Pushing himself off the wall, Stranger strode towards Fluttershy, ready to solve unfinished business.
"This is too strange," said Mehir. "One moment they're fighting, the other they're apologising... Nomolas's beard..."
He sighed. "Jail — are you done with the house?"
For a while, Link was silent, as if in deep contemplation of something or other - then finally, he began to speak, a thoughtful, serious look in his eyes. His voice was just as quiet and gentle as it had been before.
"I understand why you want to protect her, Shotaro. You have a noble, selfless spirit - I saw that back on Cybertron. You saved my life, put yourself in harm's way for no logical reason in order to protect me."
A soft smile. "And Fluttershy is someone who needs far more protection than I do."
"I have a good friend back home," he continued, shifting the focus of the conversation by way of elaboration. "Her name's Ilia, and she grew up with me in Ordon Village - we used to be inseparable as kids. We still are, in many ways." His air was one of sweet, wistful nostalgia.
"She's a spirited person. Sometimes she even scares me... and yet there's a great deal of kindness in her. She's good at heart, and gentle, and good with animals, and caring and dutiful and pretty and bright..."
"In short, she's quite a lot like Fluttershy. So I know how you feel, in a way. Something horrible happened to her, too, something that put me in quite a bit of distress - but still, I went on. Trying to find her and fulfill my duty to the people of Hyrule at the same time. It worked. I got her back. It was one of the happiest days of my life."
He looked straight at the detective, and his tone changed into one of utmost earnestness.
"...Shotaro, just like you swore to protect Fluttershy, I promised to protect everyone here as best as I could. It was what the Hero would have done if he were here, and it's the least I can do for him."
"You have to stop all these conflicts before they happen. Stop creating hostilities, stop jumping in front of the situation before everything's worked out. It's not what she wants, I'm sure of it."
Placing a soft hand on Shotaro's shoulder, Link smiled down at him.
"You can do it. You're a hero."

'Being around you guys makes me go "wtf" instead of pondering the ever increasing dread of time' - EchoingSilence, 2023Having arrived suddenly from the previous world, Xigbar lands a great distance from the Champions and newcomers. As he noticed his return to the crystal city, the Nobody wanders around in an attempt to search for his allies, which could take him awhile if he wasn't heading in the wrong direction.
Finally, he stopped in his tracks as he spoke to himself in an exasperated tone,"How in the name of Kingdom Hearts do I get lost!?" Before he could go into a rant, he barely managed to hear some noise in the opposite direction. With that in mind, Xigbar vanishes in a portal of darkness, intent on finding the source of the commotion.
[DATA LOST]"I'll try... thank you." Shotaro said to Link as he placed his hand on his shoulder. He then got up. "Now I aught to use the washroom before the next challenge comes up." Shotaro said as he left to go to the bathroom.
—
As he entered, he had a terrible headache. Soon, his mind flashed and he was placed in the mental plane, facing Dubix.
"AH, SHOTARO... I'VE HEARD WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY... I HEARD WHAT HE SAID." Dubix said.
"..." Shotaro already knew this wasn't going to end well.
"YET... YOU STILL FEEL LIKE BEING THE HERO!" Dubix then chuckled.
"Why did you take over me back in that world?" Shotaro asked.
"BECAUSE, DEAR SHOTARO, THOMAS WAS LOOKING TO ACHIEVE A BEAUTIFUL PLACE!" Dubix said.
"He was creating a bad place!" Shotaro said.
"NO. HE WISHES TO PURGE ALL LIFE SO THAT ONLY CYBERNETICS REMAINED, JUST LIKE MY OLD MASTER... YOU MUST REMEMBER, SHOTARO... EVEN IF I AM STILL YOUR... PARTNER... I STILL HAVE MY IDEALS. MY BELIEFS. YOU? YOU JUST WASTE YOUR TIME PINING OVER A LITTLE PONY!" Dubix said.
"... I don't love her." Shotaro said.
"THAT'S NOT WHAT YOUR INSTINCTS SAY! YOU RUSH TO HER DEFENSE, ABANDONING ALL KINDS OF ETHICS, AND YOU WERE GOING TO FIGHT SO THAT SHE COULD KEEP THOSE DISGUSTING MAN-EATERS! IF YOU DON'T LOVE HER, PROVE IT! IF YOU DON'T LOVE HER... THEN LEAVE HER! LEAVE EVERYONE AND RUN AWAY!" Dubix said.
"... If... If that is what will cause me to... to be a hero... So be it." Shotaro said.
—
He then left the bathroom. Without saying a word, he left the house and went as far away from it as possible.
Grey watched the discussion, argument, and fight with no small degree of consternation. The points made by both sides resonated to an extent with the reploid, and so he felt compelled to continue listening despite any reservations. When Mehir mentioned Model A's immaturity, Grey scowled at the Biometal, which had been peeking out of his pocket to get a better look at what was happening. He hoped, however, that they could have been more cohesive than they were currently. Had something in his world caused tensions to rise? Grey had to admit that Rey's eyes glowing red had set him on edge, as though he suffered an instinctual hostile reaction to it.
When Jail appeared, Grey trudged belatedly over to the scientist. "...Is everything ready? Then check us over - I don't want to stick around here too long."
Locking you up on radar since '09Darkness slowly etched itself on the ground next to Grey and Jail, which rapidly shot upwards momentarily creating a portal before vanishing, revealing Xigbar standing with his arms folded. He looks over at Grey with a raised eyebrow as he asked,"So, what'd I miss?"
[DATA LOST]Mehir glared at Xigaber, his patience stretched thin already.
"A mess would be the simplest way to describe this..." he said. "Though, earlier, I made a rather fantastic breakthrough in my magical research."
"Yes, Grey, I have prepared everything. Let's go." the scientist replied and led Grey back into workshop.
Mehir followed Jail and Grey; he was interested in the proceedings, and anyway he resolved to watch Grey till the doctor pronounced him all-right.
Halfway to the workshop, he remembered something and stopped. Snapping his fingers, he sent the Rhami back to her home Plane with a whispered thanks before running to catch up with Jail and Grey.
Xigbar nodded as he gazed at the area Mehir mentioned, hardly even bothered by the fact that the summoner wasn't in the best of moods. As the trio walked away, Xigbar decided to find a place to lie down and take a nap, even though he didn't suffer as much as the others had. "The next newcomer that arrives better have some kind of degree in therapy, 'cause I'm tired of those guys whining and complaining about their horrible lives." he mutters to himself before entering a spare bedroom and sleeping not long after.
[DATA LOST]Cletus sat down in the area and kept a sharp eye on Jail. No way he was letting the scientist add anything weird to Grey.
...and that's terrible.Back at the workshop, Jail instructed Grey to lay on an operational-looking table he prepared, and put Model A on a separate one.
Once they complied, runed bands of energy formed domes above them as Jail summoned the holographic interface.
After a couple button presses, a wall of light formed at top ends of the domes and begun it's slow travel down the length, rigorously scanning the "patients".
Chun-Li frowned and crossed her arms at the resulting fight. She did not know much about the scientist, but he did seem like one of the saner members at this point. Cletus, Grey, and Mehir also seemed relatively sane, though Mehir attacking Grey's device thing was not that good a sign.
"Don't leave me with these guys," Chun-Li said as she followed Jail, Cletus, Grey, and Mehir.

Wizard Needs Food BadlyGrey had followed the doctor - nodding at Xigbar as he passed - with no small amount of trepidation. What would the doctor do? What would the procedure involve? What would happen if Jail did find something? The reploid was distinctly aware of Mehir. Chun-li and Cletus following behind him. Following Jail's instructions, he gave Model A to the scientist and put himself on the table, closing his eyes and entering sleep mode.
Jail's scans made several discoveries. The most obvious was that Grey was built with remarkably high quality and advanced components, each of which was custom made. Many of the steels used were of unknown or exotic composition, and several chips inside him were stamped with the plain, unassuming legend DAN-003 along with a stylised "A" symbol (presumably Master Albert's) and legends detailing specifications (though they were too blurry to make out). More important than that, however, was the fact that there was nothing suggesting Master Thomas had made any modification to his systems - all of them appeared to be intact and in their original condition.
Model A's compact casing hid a veritable trove of chips, circuit boards and more. There was one chip - slightly larger than the others - that presumably stored the Biometal's data (both its' own and that of those it had copied). They were of similar quality to Grey's parts. Although Grey's systems had mysteries of their own, many of Model A's components seemed to serve a mysterious and unidentifiable function despite how important they looked. They also lacked the legends that Grey's parts had, aside from the "A" symbol. Luckily, there also seemed to be no modifications (though that was rather hard to discern considering the unique nature of the Biometal).

Locking you up on radar since '09"What the girl said."
Dodogers followed Grey, looking around at everything with some sort of heroic look. Someone smart enough would probably realise he was thinking about something else and only wanted to keep up a facade.
Fluttershy sighed in relief to see that Rey with a bit okay and merely shaken. "Come on, let's go inside," the pegasus said. "I could probably fix something up for you with whatever food we find in........"
She looked to see Shotaro leaving the house and walking away into the distance. The Rider looked distressed.
The pony wanted to go after him......but there's already so much she needed to do at the moment.
She sighed again and turned back to Rey. "Anyway, maybe you can describe to me what a tamale is, and I can try to make something close to it," she said to the wrestler. As she headed back into the house, she did not notice Stranger approaching her.
"Well before, I did it with reckless abandon. Now I can't control myself!" ~ Jesse Cox, 2014Amongst the Champions, four portals opened up. One showed a cliff face in a jungle*, one showed a snowy wasteland*, one showed a cathedral in a forest*, and the last showed a run-down futuristic room*. The Champions would each feel strongly drawn to one of the portals, and slightly repulsed by the others.
Garland himself felt drawn to the jungle. He decided to resist the powerful urge to enter for a moment, instead striding up to the castle and telling one of the robots to inform everyone inside about the new portals; not that he would have to, since they would feel the pull of their portal calling them outside, even if they didn't know where it came from.
Somewhere in the city, a fifth portal opened near Shotaro/Dubix. He would feel similarly drawn to it.

A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in."Oh, uh..." Rey blinked, following after Fluttershy. "Uh, it's okay, I wouldn't ask you to cook anything for me...uh, I'm a big boy, I can fix it myself. Besides, uh...I'm, uh...I'm sort of like a vegetarian and it's, uh...some people have a hell of a time with that when it comes to cooking."
Rey shrugged somewhat as he walked with the pony, feeling rather awkward about everything. He stammered, fumbling a moment for conversation that had nothing to do with what had just occurred, before settling on: "So...what's it like havin' wings?"
He hesitated at the sight of portals. "Crap."

Easing back into life one step at a timeTick followed Rey and Fluttershy. "Rey, if you're vegetarian, it probably wouldn't be a problem since she's her...biv..."
Tick took notice of the strange, tree filled hole in space. It almost seemed enticing to him...familiar...
"...Now what do you suppose?..." Curiosity lead Tick to the portal like a fish on a hook.
Dodgers soon stopped, turning around and facing the portal with the cliff face in a jungle. He slowly opened his mouth, and, like a zombie, walked towards it, entering it without even questioning what portals were doing in the middle of nowhere:
"Blue... shiny... thing... have... to enter..."
Snake Eyes stepped into the Jungle portal.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!
