A Game of Gods: Infinities

Nanoha blinked. The girl seemed lonely... she didn't want to talk, that was it. Nanoha opened her mouth to speak again, but she was interrupted by Byakuren running up to say hello.

"Oh, hello, Byakuren-chan," Nanoha greeted the regressed former magician.

Aiko fretted.

She'd been preparing today's material late last night, and she'd fallen asleep. Among many other rather childish facets of her character, sleep requirements tended to get in the way of staying up particularly late...

She woke up, late, with the work less then half completed. And it was only her second day.

Aiko opened her classroom door, trying to hide how worried about... pretty much everything she was today and doing a rather poor job of it.

"Hello!" she greeted her students.

"All right, I think 26 copies is enough. I'll make neater ones later."

Terrice packed up her horribly illegible copies along with the original and went to class. She DID write down everthing she had read word for word but most people would likely have a hard time telling which words they were. The cost of speed.

Terrice sat down as close to the center of class as possible for maximum eavesdropping potential.

"Good morning teacher." She said cheerfully.

Michiru emitted a particularly loud snore.

Kami's accompaniment of Chiko did indeed put a halt to Jack's plans for the time being. But she also made sure to look out for the other challengers as well. She wanted a chance to speak to them privately as well. She had seen little girls as well as older ones in the battle yesterday, which confirmed her suspicions that they were in two groups. They needed to find a way to contact the other group. Seeing Aiko enter the room-she still couldn't shake the feeling that the child-like teacher was somehow involved in this whole affair-she bowed and said good morning with everyone else.

-DK yawns and stretches out, nearly falling from his perch. Grabbing into the tree for dear life, he manages to scrabble his wayback into safety. Now fully awake and hungry, he contemplates the problem of getting back down.-

"<Well, that is useful. The robots here do not know it.>"
Struck by a though, Snake Eyes checked his weaponry. No physical damage on the outside of the pistol, and a quick test fire at the ground showed that the inside mechanisms of the laser were intact. Sheathing it, his dual tonfas were pulled out and checked, the blades extending and retracting correctly. Pulling his ancestral katana, which he had re-forged after it's destruction during his last battle with Storm Shadow, it remained the same weight and shape it had always been. Anyone looking closely would see that a trigram symbol, technically two together, the symbols for water and fire, together symbolizing completion, was engraved in red near the hilt. Said symbol was also a part of his uniform, the symbol resting on his right hand shoulder.

Skyla nodded. Seeing Snake Eyes check his weapons, and considering the fact they could possibly be pulled through a rift at any moment, she checked her weapons as well.

Well, five of them. The Cain was checked visually, since firing it would be a stupid thing to do in an area like this. All in working order. Skyla was a bit concerned, yes. The need to get back to her universe was urgent, considering the Reapers were very close to actually attacking... But for now, she needed to focus on surviving here.

Elementary

Before Byakuren could think of something else to do, Nekomi arrived. She seemed in a better mood than yesterday, though the kendo garb and way her glasses were on her desk raised doubts about what she was actually expecting to teach. Not that those two facts were particularly apparent; the bundle of shinai was much easier noticed, as were the ears and tail. Obviously, this school had strange hiring practices: the highschool teacher was a loli and now the elementary teacher seemed to be a catgirl.

Unexpectedly, another portal opened. This one also drew people towards its maw. It was purple, which was rather strange, and included suspiciously eye-like features in it. Through the portal, there was what appeared to be a city of grey blocks and, staring up at the tower, a lone female figure with an umbrella.

Snake Eyes fell, or to be more accurate, was sucked through the portal unceremoniously, and was dumped onto the ground. Springing to his feet, he pulled his pistol.

Skyla followed soon afterward. Well, that was going to happen at some point, I suppose. Skyla then quickly got up, pulling out her own pistol. Now where the HELL are we?

"Good morning, teacher!" Fluttershy happily acknowledged the small teacher.

On a building near the high school, a cloud of shadow erupted on the roof. From there, a sharply dressed white man in his early thirties wearing an all white suit emerged from the shadow portal. He calmly walked up to the edge of the roof.

He raised his hand.

Shadows erupted from his hand, soon forming and solidifying into a fully assembled sniper rifle. He pointed it at the school, scanning each of the classroom, searching for his target......

The scope fell on a certain pink haired girl.

"Hello their, dear sweet granddaughter......" he said. "I'll get you later......but I got someone else's number right now......"

"Morning." Shoko said, walking to her desk and getting her things ready. She pulled out the notebook, then recalled the words she read yesterday. Shrugging it off, she took out a pencil.

Chun-li had woken up and left for class. Soon, she would arrive at class and take a seat with the rest of the elementary school class. She was ready to sit through this class again.

"Good morning." Aqua replied sitting somewhere in the middle of the class. These people let a kid teach a bunch of high school students? Something's not right here. Xigbar thought with exasperation as he noticed some of the more...unusual students arrive.They look rather familiar, I wonder who they could be?

Celia looked at the teacher with the bundle of kendo sticks. Celia sighed and raised her hand.

"Okay, I'll bite. Teacher, why do you have all those sticks, and what's with the cat ears.?"

Nanoha blinked several times when she saw their teachers ears and tail. She was immediately reminded of familiars, though the teacher obviously wasn't one of them... was she? There did seem to be some things from home here...

"Um... sensei, you've got cat ears?"

Among other things(her rather bedraggled appearance and messier-then-before hair), it was noticeable that the albino teacher was carrying an elegant parasol, white with black, frilled trim.

She apparently hadn't realized that it was still open.

"Eh? Oh! Um..." she quickly closed it, and began laying her papers down on her desk with her other hand. "I... um... eh-heh..."

The 'child' teacher was still fretting.

Gunner waited for class to start, anxious to learn something new again. Her curiosity piqued, she waited to see what kind of knowledge the teacher would show the class on this auspicious second day.

ELEMENTARY:*

"Sensei is a kassha!" Byakuren said dramatically, pointing at the unfortunate teacher.

"Umm... no?"

"Nekomata?"

"No..."

"Any form of bake-neko?"

"No..."

"... How about a cat disciple of a god?"

"No..."

"Oh..."

With that strange situation finished, Byakuren placidly returned to her seat and waited to see what their lesson would be. Maybe it would be on looking after shinai? That was certainly a strange thing to be teaching in a class, though...

"So... umm... since we didn't do anything interesting yesterday, I spent some time trying to find enough shinai. So... is there anyone here that wouldn't mind learning kendo?"

Out of the portal, a blond-haired warrior landed face first. He was dressed like a pirate and had a BFS on his back that would seem holy if one looked at it.

Getting back on his two feet, Matt said "How the heck did that happen?"

Matt was expecting a response from his party members Natalie and Lance but there was only silence. He turned see neither, however, he did take sight of a ninja and a woman in power armor. Matt called out to them "Hey! Do either of you know where we are!"

She had gotten off relatively lightly. That, at least, was something to thank the Goddesses for.

Lyn had managed to convince her mother that she had gotten the cut through a particulary nasty fall onto the pavement - which was not quite true, but still preferable to what actually happened. She still had the feeling that she hadn't quite been believed - she was a horrible liar. Still, her mother had made no further inquiries, and she was able to arrive at school the next day with nothing to worry about.

Almost nothing. Now,she was seated in Aiko-sensei's class, twirling her pencil once again and deep in thought about the conflict that would inevitably occur once again.

What would she do?

Last Night

Landa had returned home to a worried set of parents. It didn't take too long for her to assuage their fears, however; the news of a wrecked restaurant was news to her (although she did wonder if her own encounter had anything to do with it), and that was plainly obvious. After an uneventful evening, she had gone to bed.

While She Slept...

"..."

"What kind of world has the cycle brought me to this time?"

"It could be worse, my lord. Our vessel could have been a worthless, pathetic little girl."

"She only acts like he does because he influences her subconciously"

"And the worst of it is that I'm not even conscious when she's awake."

"My lord, it might be possible to gain some control of her body while she sleeps. Enough to leave a message of some kind."

"You mean, you could. You're in the best position to try that."

"I'd follow your orders, of course"

"Very well, then. This is what I want done..."

At School, the Next Day

Landa had arrived on time for her classes today, since she now knew where to go. She had thought it a bit strange that the teacher was suddenly a Cat Girl, but she was all too willing to forgive her, given the subject matter. "No objections here, Sensei!" she called out, rather enthusiastically.

Jenny, who spent her time babysat by the Tick bizzarley uneventful sits right back in the front. She blinks as she sees her teacher now looking like a cat person.
The Doctor raises her hand. "Sensei? Are you a cosplayer?"

Erika was sat at the back, as usual.

OK, why do I get the feeling she's someone's Familiar?

Nanoha blinked.

"Kendo?"

Her older sister was in the high school kendo club. She watched her practice, sometimes. Once even to improve her technique with Raising Heart, but that was fairly early on. She thought about this for a moment. Nanoha didn't see any problems with this...

"Um... I don't mind."

While trying to arrange her papers, Aiko scattered them all over the floor. She went to her knees, scrambling to collect them.

Today was not going well for her.

I should try and help her. It's the least I can do for her. With that in mind, Aqua leaves her seat to assist the teacher. "Would it be okay if I assist you, Sensei?" Aqua inquires, her tone filled with sincerity.
